1 review for Gold Ranch Casino RV Resort -Sierra Cafe-
I was up in Reno mid December 2007. I was heading back with a few friends and we were running late to get back to So. San Francisco. After getting lost in the turn abouts at Boom Town for 20min driving in circles, we find out that the Boom Town cafe was closed. So we headed on our trip back to the city with no breakfast in our belly.
Low and behold a sign comes up which says "Last Chance!" For food, gas, casino, bathrooms etc. We decide not head to the Sierra Cafe instead of the Jack in the box. And I was not disappointed one bit by this choice. We where sat down quickly and service came quickly as well. The menu is more like a Denny's / Lyon kind of a deal. We had the fried zucchini for appetizer. These things where huge and looked very fresh. Not mushy at all crisp veggie, and crunchy coating. Perfect with the non-watered down ranch dressing. I had the chicken fried steak / country gravy with some runny eggs, hash browns and sour dough toast. This late breakfast was off the hook. Eggs perfectly runny, chicken fried steak was not oily or greasy. Perfect amount of country gravy on top. My friend had chicken wings with ranch dressing which I had a few of and let me tell you its not like Denny's / Lyons which only gives you 6 skinny wings. These where plump juicy wings and an even dozen at best.
Service was friendly and very attentive. So attentive that at one point I was snuck up upon by one of the waiters, and asked if I wanted another refill. Well I was not expecting this and she scared the crap out of me. We laughed about it, she apologized and we had a great lunch. They are open from 6am-10pm. So if you find yourself hungry and your way back to the Bay Area, make sure you stop by here.
