Huge slice of pizza, equivalent to two slices for 3-4 bucks?? Yes please!
Quick, easy, pre-made, heated up for you, perfect texture - what more can you ask for? -

The pizza is okay. But learn how to run a business, folks.
You'll notice their big wall menu has no prices. Why? My guess is so they can print out new paper menus, with new prices, whenever they want. Better yet, no one working there knows their current prices. When you order, the person taking your order has to pull out a paper menu and look up all the amounts. Kind of shows you how often the prices change.
Hey Go Getters, my guess is you have a lease, and contracts for food. So you know what your costs are. Figure out how much you need to earn to make a profit, and stick to those prices for a while. When a sandwich today costs 60 cents more today than it did last week, you're doing something wrong. -

I was 100% certain I'd never go here. Seriously. I walk by it twice a day. And it looks jank. I was just so sure, SO SURE I'd never go here.
So my dumb self went here at 1am last night. Guess what- even tipsy it was 3 stars at best. The pesto mushroom slice was just a hot mess. (Like myself.) But seriously. Meh. -

Wandered into Go Getters and was greeted by an empty restaurant and a eager, friendly staff. Ordered a slice of Pepperoni and damn that it came out fast. Almost too fast...hmmm...I wonder....yup, it's underdone. That aside it's not worst slice I've had. (That mantle is reserved for my alma mata's local late night pizza joint whose fair could only be enjoyed if one was hungry, high, and drunk.) Sauce was passable but no panache to set it apart. Pepperoni was good. Despite being underdone the crust was tasty. At $3.96 it's a overpriced but whatcha gonna do it's 10:30 pm in Hayes Valley--your options are limited.

Wow!!!!!!!! some of the worst food I've ever ate. Ordered a four cheese calzone and I really doubt it had four different cheese in it, It tasted like dough and ricotta cheese. I also ordered their fettuccine alfredo. It tasted like they put milk in some pasta and didn't salt it at all. I've tasted better cooking from four year old kids.

Fuel for Therapy.
This wasn't an ordinary night. Booked for Group Therapy with 1,000 fellow patients and three of the best counselors in the business. I needed to make sure I had enough fuel to last the entire session.
Slice of cheese. Pizza sandwich (tomato sauce, chicken, spinach and artichokes). Prices were average. Service was friendly. Most importantly I made it till the very end and could have gone another round.
Just in case you need Therapy too:

Supremely mediocre pizza with super friendly staff. I was there for late night (1am-ish...) slices on a weekend. Don't let the signs fool you -- it's neither the best nor is it particularly authentic, but it certainly fills you up when you need food at that hour.
As with most slice places, they've got a handful of pre-made slices available which they'll re-heat for you on demand. The crust is mostly doughy, but lacks that hint of sourness that I'm used to (and love). The cheese is nothing special and the toppings are uninspired.
I suppose I'll be back if I need late night eats, but that's probably it. There are significantly better pizza options in Hayes Valley if you're willing to eat at a normal hour. -

Slightly spicy sauce and a thin crust makes this spot solid for delivery and late-night munchies. No place really to sit with just three tables next to a door, but the price is right if you find yourself walking by. Four stars within its genre.

Spinach-pesto pizza. Yum! Aside from that, they have a large menu. And I mean that in both sense of the word: the menu board and fonts are large and the menu selection is plentiful. Next time I shall try the subs.
It's almost bare-bones kind of establishment. The handful of tables and chairs encourage you to scoot and get your pie to go. No big deal, really. That's the way pizza joints usually are anyways. -

I've tried it twice; pizza tasted like cardboard both times.
Note to self: don't come here ever again! -

I read a few of the reviews before making my own. I would agree that it is mediocre pizza. The pizza I ate did not even taste fresh. I might just be spoiled from eating Nazzarios or Escape from New York. I gave Go Getters Pizza a chance, they failed.

I always find it important to find a good to great pizza place in any city I've lived. I have to say this is one of the better pizzas I've had. Oh, I think in the past 5 months, since moving back to SF, we've ordered five or six times. There was only one time I wasn't like, "Wow, this is great."
You have to try it. -

It was right down the street from a hotel we were staying at. They were the only thing open nearby but after eating we didn't feel like we settled at all. My burger was good and my wife's pita sandwich was also good. And the order was ready early!

Review from Cristy M.
Go Getters Pizza reminds me of my corner pizza shop, Casola's, in Miami. Suffice it to say, for what it is rather than what it's not, Go Getters is a primo by-the-slice pizza shop. They've a good selection of by-the-slice varieties, it's cheesy enough and greasy enough without being too cheesy or greasy, and it's really well priced. Besides the walk-in sit-down or walk-around location, they also deliver which is one of those bonus qualities that I look for in a pizza joint. In this case, their pies are a good size and a good price. Their "Caesar salad" was, essentially a regular iceberg blend, a tomato sliced up, some croutons, and a side of Cesar dressing but, honestly, that's precisely what I expect when I'm ordering thin crust, shopfront, fold-up pizza.
First visit was a stop-in sit-down. Second time was delivery. Both within a couple of days. Obviously I was happy with the quality of the slices.
...and a day later, nuking the leftover veggie slices for breakfast I have to say, that's one damn fine pizza pie. -

Darn good slice. But it looks like other reviews are all over the place. You either like or hate a certain place...BUT WHY? Are the ingredients low quality? Is the dough mushy? WHAT?
Here's why I like the pizza:
It's a fat slice. The kind you have to fold in half to eat.
It's greasy. Low-fat cheese makes a dry pizza, and that's no fun.
The dough is relatively thin, and the outer crust is chewy. It's like getting pizza AND a bread stick!
The sauce is zesty. Maybe it comes out of a can, but if it still tastes good, what's the problem?
It reminds me of the style I like back home (which is Boston.) New Yorkers don't know as much as they think they do about making pizza...OR playing baseball, for that matter.
OK, that last comment was a bit region-ist, just checking to see who's actually listening ;-)
Here's why I like the store:
The service is fast. They can heat up a slice in seconds flat.
There are comfy tables.
It's reasonably priced. Something like $3.50 for a regular slice. -

This place is like every other decent pizza place in town. What makes it special (review-worthy) is the fact that it's the only by-the-slice place in Hayes Valley. And, probably the only place in the neighborhood to eat for less than $400.
They also take credit card. -

SALTY SALTY SALTY SALTY SALTY.
I felt terrible for days after eating this pizza.
Maybe I'm spoiled because I lived in NYC for a year, but I would really rather eat anything else than this pizza. I'd rather heat up something frozen - honestly. Not that it necessarily tasted all that bad... just that I felt HORRIBLE after eating it. Like all the moisture in my body got sucked up. Ugh. -

I have gone to this place 2 times now. Very important to me how nice and friendly the staff was. The pizza was really good, The slices were nice sized, price was decent, and they are open pretty late. Both times I got the pepperoni and cheese slice and when done I ended up ordering another LOL.

I was wandering around SF with a sudden hankering for pizza. Actually that's a lie, it wasn't sudden, I always crave pizza.
I walk into this hole in the wall a little nervous. I was expecting something overly greasy with bad cheese and old pepperoni. I could have kept looking but I was starving and wanted pizza NOW. I order a slice of pepperoni and a coke and my total was $5... a lot less than the place that was suggested to me earlier.
After a few minutes my pizza was ready and it was nice and gooey and not terribly greasy. It wasn't too thin, and the crust was soft and chewy. It was heaven in slice form. Frankly if I didn't have somewhere to be (and wasn't full from the rather large slice), I probably would have ordered a second. In fact, I had to seriously stop myself from going here for dinner as well. It was that awesome.Listed in: I Heart Pizza

I have tried many pizza places including in NYC and Chicago and I think this place ranks right up there with the best of them. They use wine in their sauce! Very cheesy but not too much. Also, don't miss their pastas!

Maybe it's my eight billion years working in the pizza industry, that I truly was not impressed by them. Five friends and I paid 80$ (including tip) for one sandwich (which they didn't even bother cutting, i had to rip it in half) with french fries, two calzones, pasta (which wasn't even sealed properly and spilled everywhere), two orders of garlic bread (no dipping sauce wtf?), a sampler and a chicken salad (that was also destroyed by the drivers quest to shove as much as crap into one bag as possible).
They didn't send any utensils, napkins or plates. How the hell do you eat a salad or pasta without a fork? We're at a hotel for crying out loud.
The garlic sauce for the pasta had seeped out of the flimsy container, turning the sad brown bag it was in transparent. The Chicken Salad was crushed, both containers of salad dressing were broken open because they were shoved to the bottom of the bag.
They said delivery would be 45 mins, we didn't get it until a hour and a half later.
We called to complain about the salad dressing and lack of utensils and plates, they said they were sending someone out right away...two hours later they called us asking if we still needed it. TWO HOURS LATER.
Had any of my staff showed up to a hotel without at least a fork I would have cut his hours in half. Common sense people! I know it's Friday, but if you don't take care of your customers, they're going to run you into the ground
The only reason why I'm giving this palce any stars at all is because after we had cleaned the sauce from the pasta of off all the other food, everything tasted "okay." Not super impressed with the ridiculous amount of garlic they use in EVERYTHING.
I'd skip this place unless you're starving and don't want to leave your hotel room. -

You know, I actually don't mind the really cheeeezy pizza they offer! I like thin & crispy too but thick & cheezy serves a purpose. But one of the problems is consistency. Sometimes it's super good & other times it's just basically...edible...because you're hungry.
I need to have cheese & peppers on my pizza, it just goes! I always ask and sometimes they remember & sometimes they don't. The last time I ordered I was disappointed, barely any bell peppers, no crispiness what-so-ever, too big of slices to eat and they forgot my peppers and cheese! Kind of irritating because I always tip pretty big in appreciation of the delivery person bringing it up to the top floor. I don't eat pizza all that often but when I do splurge, I want it to be...um...good! I'm writing this because I'm bummed with the inconsistency & now looking for a new pizza place in my hood. -

Go-Getters advertises itself as "the best slice of pizza in San Francisco" or something like that on its signage. I may have to pursue false advertising, because in any definition of the word "best" Go-Getters doesn't come close.
First of all, the cheese wasn't even melted all the way. I lurve me some cheesy stringy pizza that stretches halfway to the Haight on my pizza, and Go-Getters was having none of that.
Second of all, it was one of those slices where you take a bite, and all the toppings come off with the first bite. I HATE that. I EFFING HATE THAT!
Third of all, the sausage (and I consider myself a pig-product connoissuer, thank you very much) was clearly not of high quality.
And it's presentation - the store looks like its pizza - gristly and dirty and unfriendly.
Go-Getters ain't go-gettin' any more from me, that's for sure.Listed in: haYESvalley

Review from Ed U.
I'm a lazy ass...
-- I don't get up from the couch unless I smell gas...from the stove, that is.
-- I get frustrated when the remote is six inches out of reach from my hand.
-- I contemplate about whether I need to go to the bathroom until it doesn't become my decision anymore.
But I have a confession to make...yeah, another one.
Sometimes I just like to have a roast chicken and pick at it for dinner. I don't mean just a leg and a breast like a normal person. No, I mean a WHOLE chicken. Thankfully, I don't finish it off, I can't...I just pick at it until I have some left for chicken salad later in the week. If I think of it, I remember Safeway has them in those plastic containers in the refrigerated deli section.
But on a couple of occasions, I have ordered one from Go-Getters Pizza through http://delivery.com. It's not horrible, just a bit dry by the time the guy gets it here. It comes with an oily brown bag of French fries, a big hunk of buttered garlic bread and a side salad. It's $12.80 for the dinner, so the price is not bad. I've had less success with the barbecue ribs. While they give you four good-sized ribs and the same fixings for the same price, the sauce is way too sweet and ladled with a shovel. I prefer when the sauce is slow-cooked into the meat.
I have tried their House Special Pizza once. For about $20, you can get a 14" medium for two with your standard ingredients - pepperoni, salami, mushroom, onions, bell peppers, olives, Italian sausage, Canadian bacon and oddly, feta cheese. There is nothing terribly exciting about it, just the same pizza you can get at about a dozen places who are willing to deliver it to you.
So if you're a couch potato who can't be bothered with baking your own chicken, there are worse things you can do than get one from Go-Getters. Besides, semi-homemade Sandra Lee - who is herself 70% store-bought and 30% real - told me it was OK to get a ready-made chicken, and I have to believe her. After all, she is the alcoholic empress of lazy assness.
FOOD - 3 stars...a whole roasted chicken at your door...now I'm set for watching "Dancing with the Stars"
AMBIANCE - n/a...I have no idea what this place looks like from the inside, though I've driven by it on Gough...hmmm, not promising
SERVICE - 4 stars...they are among the fastest when it comes to delivery, and they never complain about all my stairs
TOTAL - 3 stars...it is on the mediocre side, but hey, that's what you deserve for not getting up from the couchListed in: Like Sands Through the…

Review from Devon F.
After walking from the ballpark to Market, and then up to city hall, all in order to just find Dolores Park, my friends and I had a drunken realization: we were lost. Really lost. And we had walked far too much. So I took the reins, ran ahead, and stumbled into Go Getters to ask for directions.
We're retarded. We were literally a step or two from Market St. again. (Though thankfully, not as retarded as a couple of our friends, who we lost on Polk but somehow were on the other side of Market when we found them.)
Thankfully, the people working there were nice enough to point out the obvious without too much of a smirk.
However, tired drunkies need food, and goddamn did it smell good in there, so we decided to stay and eat dinner. We each got slices of pizza, and did my pepperoni satisfy? Hell yes. Sure, the crust was dry and it had been sitting out awhile and my first bite took off half of the cheese, but this place was a greasy godsend nevertheless.
Decent pizza, but I really need to get a better sense of direction. And to stop drinking so much. -

worst pizza ever. I wish I could give it a zero star and this is the first time I want to give a place negative to zero star.
apparently, they don't really care.
The place has a funky smell and even though it looks decent, the food is horrible. My slice of pizza wasn't even fully cooked! I ate a doughy pizza because I was so hungry! I realized at the end when I started to chew my pizza. HAHAHA! for about a good 75% of my slice, I just scarfed it down without chewing. Then when I finally slowed down enough to start tasting my food, i realized I was chewing RAW DOUGH!!! The crust was doughy too!!
of course, the dough caused crazy reactions in my tummy...and i got a tummy ache afterwards. I ordered a mushroom and there were only five pieces of mushroom clustered in one small corner. It would be a big mistake to eat here, no matter how hungry you are!! -

I am *obsessed* with the BBQ chicken from Go-Getters. It is drippy with good sauce, falls off the bone (heh, I said 'bone') and is very, very, very good. It is the crack of the BBQ chicken world... I am addicted. I am a BBQ chicken junkie, people.
Yu-and-um.
It is five-star chicken.
However, the delivery service from Go-Getters is no-getter of the stars for this business... It took them an hour and a half for them to deliver my food. Whaaa?
By the time dude showed up with my chicken-crack, I almost had forgotten that I was hungry in the first place.
What the heck, Go Getters? Did you have to go out and kill the chicken for my dinner? Seriously - how can it take an hour and a half for you to deliver the chicken-crack I so require on an intimate Saturday nite between me and my Netflix? It doesn't even take me that long to... I could have gone to your restaurant, ordered and gone back to my apartment in half the time it took your delivery guy to bring it to me... meh.
Not to mention I hear the actual restaurant is kind of a hole... I hear the bathrooms are gross, etc. Good thing I only ever order delivery from them so that my OCD tidy self doesn't have to deal with the reality of a gross restaurant with awesome food... oh, choices - you are so hard. -
Review from John S.
San Francisco, CA
I had a totally blase delivery experience from here, which is becoming a trend, sadly. Either I've exhausted all the good pizza delivery places in my part of the city--which would be truly truly sad--or I've just hit a nasty slump. Hopefully, this one won't keep me out of the Hall.
Cheese isn't that hard to do on a pizza. Thousands of places do it every night, and although its flavor and texture vary depending on its age, quality, the length of time it's spent in the refrigerator, etc., it's generally pretty easy to get it to stick to the crust. Bake it for a certain amount of time, and it will happen. The laws of physics are the same at every pizza place. (I know, My Cousin Vinny reference. I'm sorry.)
So please do the cheese correctly.
I will say, though, that the black olives were really tasty. I ordered them to get to the $15 delivery limit, but it really was a good choice. The pizza was really good cold the next day, which is the true test, but I'm still thinking about lowering this rating to two stars. -

Boys and girls, the lesson of the day is: "Rusty gets older; they stay the same age."
Occasionally I'm in Frisco doing new construction for Pete's Heating and Cooling.
We're working a job over in Hayes Valley right now. Every now and then I leave the Coleman at home and splurge at Go Getter's Pizza.
Every bangin high school chick is here and the pizza is hot and tasty.
Today the line was long but I was occupied by this Junior in front of me. She wasn't all that hot, but there's something about high school girls. She was wearing tight sweats slung low across her waist, minimal muffin top was popin out the sides, and the top ends of her loins were visible when she turned around to see if it was really Rusty breathing down her neck.
Hold on it's my turn at the counter-- "Two slices of sausage please for the young lady with the nice ass"
Damn, I'd knock the dust off that poo say. -

I'd heard good things about this place, including "the best NY pizza in San Francisco" from a former NYU student. So I had them deliver yesterday after work. I was unimpressed. The cheese seemed kinda cheap. Otherwise, it was a typical, average pizza. Didn't particularly resemble NY pizza, either.
What I did like was that I ordered through their website (there was no final confirmation page, but I called and they did get my order), and it was at my door less than half an hour later, and that's nothing to sneeze at (though keep in mind this was Wednesday afternoon at 5).
Deja Vu is still the closest I've found to NY pizza, and Go Getters isn't particularly good, but you could also do a lot worse.Listed in: Pizza

San Francisco, CA
Absolutely atrocious delivery service, and piss-poor food to boot. We were told 45 minutes, and had to call back three times when after waiting TWO HOURS our food had not yet arrived.
When we complained to the manager, she offered to knock a whopping TWO DOLLARS off of our bill. I said that given the circumstances this was a ridiculous gesture, and that we were never ordering from them again. Her response: "Okay."
Beyond the delivery experience, pasta dishes were pretty bland, accompanying garlic bread was soggy, and I've had better pizza in SF. Not worth the two hour wait, that's for sure.
Bottom line: don't waste your time with this place. We'll be sticking with Escape from New York from now on. -

When craving a NY style slice, Go Getter's never fails.
But it really excels when ordering pasta for delivery. Many times I have ordered the lasagna, and it is delivered hot with tons of cheesy goodness. The bf and I have ordered it with a side salad and been satisfied with our order, not easy to do with two big eaters such as us.
Last night I ordered the eggplant parmigiana, and he ordered fettucini alfredo. Both were beyond yummy- we ate more than we should have. And the garlic bread! Well worth the bad breath!
Inexpensive, yummy, and fresh and hot to your door- if you live in the area, it's an easy dinner.Listed in: My Neighborhood

Go Getters is where I go when I decide it's ok to go off the wagon and eat a couple slices. Very good pizza, and I've always had good service. I typically take slices to go, but have eaten in a few times, and it's a nice, no-frills location. Their best slices are probably their combo, and perhaps the chicken special, can't remember exactly what's in that. I also like their hawaiian, cheese, and a sausage or mushroom depending on what they have ready to go, and how the mood strikes me. Definitely recommended!

San Francisco, CA
I'm in love. Been here twice over a two year span, Bay to Breakers 2008 and then same day this year. Both times SUPERB, and under entirely different circumstances of taste.
2008 version -- brand new to SF (seriously moved here two days before B2B), definitely drunk, stumbling away from the huge Alamo Square party and roaming the streets blocks and blocks, searching for a nonexistent cab. Then-fiance and I see a pizza awning on our way down to Market to attempt public transit. In dire need of a bathroom and something to soak up the booze, we go in. Huge tasty slices with just the right amount of grease saved me from a serious hangover the next day (which was my first day at my current job). In the two years to come, we always remembered our B2B pizza experience fondly, but never tried to recreate it, thinking we adored the pizza so much because of said drunkeness.
2010 version -- flash forward 2 years later. B2B apartment party in Hayes, now-Hubs is very mildly buzzed whereas I am stone cold sober due to an extreme case of pregnancy. We're heading back to BART and contemplating lunch. Hubs determines that we need to try this pizza place again and see if it lives up to the hype from our memories. It EXCEEDED my drunken memory, and ended up being sublime. This is a medium-to-thin pizza by the slice, layered with just the right amount of sauce (enough so you can taste it in ever bite, but it's not squishing out the sides of each bite). The crust is perfectly crispy with not a spot of grease on it. Heaped with cheese and toppings, any grease pools beautifully on top of the slice rather than getting soaked back into the whole thing. A gloriously huge slice of non-soggy ecstacy.
Pizza this good drunk or sober? A Bay to Breakers miracle, I say. -
Review from Joel H.
San Francisco, CA
The pizza is mediocre. Service is fast. It's close by me and cheap so it gets a lot of my business.
Update: I went in at 9pm to order a combo slice and they said they were out of slices, and suggested I try another kind. I asked them when they closed and they said midnight. The cooks were in the back eating pizza. I left, and when I got home, thought about it and called them up.
I asked why they didn't just make more when I asked, and she said they would make more for me, but that they stopped making slices around 11 (it was 9??). I walked back and got my slice, which was exceptionally greasy, to the point I didn't really want to eat it with the rivers of grease dripping off of it. Not impressive.
Update 2: It's still a favorite of mine and has gone well ever since, so I'm going to bump it up a star. -

They say they have the best pizza in town, and I think they might actually be right. I haven't felt that close to NY since I was in, well, NY.
Even the attitude was right. -
Review from Adam B.
I was expecting worse. This was just a quick stop between a wine bar and a cocktail party. The pizza slice was HUGE, larger than even a true NY slice. The section nearest the pizza point was thin, crunchy and had just the right amount of cheese-to-sauce ratio. They even offered the four important condiments: garlic powder, parmesan, pepper flakes and oregano. I was getting hopeful that I finally found a good and true NY-style slice.
Then came the center and finally the crust. This pizza was of uneven texture and fell to typical San Francisco pizza mediocrity after the pointed end was gone. Maybe the secret is to order a few slices and just eat the tips?
