I am just seconding everything that Angie H. said. We practically grew up there, it's the kind of record store that just isn't around anymore.

You know how record stores come in different genres, just like music comes in different genres? Go Boy falls into the category of small, old rock record store. If you're a DJ looking for some Hip-Hop or old skool Rap to mix into your set, you might want to go somewhere else. If you're looking for CDs and vinyl in punk, classic rock, western, boxed sets and just randomly rare stuff from the 70s and 80s you should come here.

The store itself is old and dusty, if you're into that kind of thing. They have lots of zines and flyers by the door to peruse. There is a small parking lot in the back but it's usually not crowded anyway. Don't know if they carry anything new. Hm.

Anyway, Go Boy isn't really my cup of tea but it works for some people. I just wish Off Beat Music was still around.

It's a shame its closed. Another victim to the big box stores.  Was a good record store.

Ah, Go Boy Records! I practically lived at this dinky little record store when I was in high school. Amazingly, it's still there, and more amazingly, it's now selling colored-vinyl reissues of the same Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, and other classic local punk records I bought back then (they were already classics, but not old enough to merit colored vinyl, apparently).

It's a small store, so not a huge selection, but they have a little bit of everything: new and used CDs, used tapes, records, posters, stickers, zines, you get the picture. Staff are friendly and of course they love music and are happy to talk about it for hours. I don't know how they've survived this long given the state of the industry, but I'm glad someone out there must be appreciating them as much as I did.
