I'm gonna get straight to the point...The Global Coffee Sidewalk Cafe makes one of the BEST SALADS (if not the best) I've ever had.

I got word of this place through a good friend that they make some of the best salads around and after a good 45 minute session on the treadmill (I'm limited to walking due to an injury I suffered last week) I was extremely hungry.

On the menu, they had a salad with eggplant. Unfortunately, due to some of the problems relating to eggplant (crops are of a shortage because of the freezing temperatures and they are simply hard to come by this year), the chef compensated with a few vegetables and my salad was on it's way.

I've eaten a lot of salads in my day, but this rates up there as THE BEST I've ever eaten. The Feta Cheese worked really well with the Grilled Zuccini, Grill Tomatoes, and Sauteed Camelized Onions. There were flavors tingling in my taste buds, wanting for more...it was that good.

If there's a down side to the meal I ate, it's that I ordered a small salad instead of a large one. Looking at the Menu, I saw croissants and since I'm kinda watching my diet a little more (due to an injury) I didn't want to eat too much. That being said, the Vietnamese Coffee, croissant and jelly were a good startoff before I had the delicious salad.

The Global Coffee Sidewalk Cafe is one of those hidden gems located in a little shopping center near the Bonita Golf Course. They have the friendliest people that work there, the food is inexpensive, and the food is really good.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone (like a good friend of mine did for me) because trust me when I say this...you won't be disappointed.

I've reviewed this place before, but I thought it was about time for an update because they CATERED MY WEDDING! Yes folks, Global caters and they are phenomenal! My then fiancé and I sat down with the owners, Frederika and Randall, several months ago to plan everything out. We discussed our budget and number of guests, and they totally gave us a variety of meal choices to choose from! We wound up choosing an appetizer, two salads and our two main entrees, Lasagna Alla Bolognese and a roasted chicken dish. Though, as the married couple, we hardly had a chance to eat, what we could, we SAVORED. We had tons of compliments on the appetizers, salad and the main course itself.

In addition to their awesome food served on a daily basis in their café, Federika, Randall and Claire are such wonderful and sweet people. I go here every week and it feel like home :)

Came here for lunch and not only was it delicious but the staff were great.

The food was top notch and the price was great,

I had an italian soda and there soup of the day with a small side sandwich.

Everything was just perfect and I will definitely be going back soon.  If you are in Bonita for lunch time I recommend trying this place as you wont be disappointed.

This place is awesome! Not only does it look nice, but the food and drinks were delicious. The customer service was the best. Way friendlier than your local Starbucks.

I ordered the ferrero rocher latte, but I wanted it cold... but she wasn't sure if it was gonna taste right, but the lady tried it anyways. It was okay anyways, and I would have drank it, but she figured I wasn't satisfied so she just made me a whole new one. That's really nice, and I didn't have to pay extra for anything. I also got the Baked ham and cheese croissant and that was delicious. We also got to try their new soup, puree carrots with pasta and edamane. That was really delicious.

Can you tell I really liked them now? [:

I have been to this place once and though over priced, thought the food was great. Since then I have gone back numerous times on different days at different times and they are never open! How they stay in business is a mystery to me. As a vegetarian there aren't many places in the southbay to go to. Sure would be nice if this place was EVER open.

I have tried several coffees and sandwiches and have yet to be disappointed, rather my expectations are exceeded each time. The owners are genuinely friendly people who care both about the quality of the food and the customers satisfaction. The kind of place you want to recommend all your friends too.

Also they have the best iced coffee here!

Love it!  Can't say enough good things about the Global Cafe.  I came here on a recommendation from my buddy Joel who co-owns the Acupuncture Clinic upstairs from the cafe (another big recommendation).  I always trust Joel's recommendation because no one knows food, or how to EAT quite like Joel.  And once again, he's failed to disappoint.

The Global Cafe is great!  I had the ham and cheese croissant and it was absolutely delicious.  Randall and Frederica (the owners) are fantastic, friendly people and make all of their customers feel like family.  Randall's tried out a couple of new dishes on us each time I've been there and they've always been very flavorful.

Now, I'm a bit of a coffee snob and you've gotta be pretty good to get my coffee stamp of approval - and the Global Cafe get's mine!  They make a fantastic cappuccino and carry one of the better lines of local organic coffees here in San Diego.

Stop by the Global Cafe, grab some lunch and be sure to sample one of the delicious cupcakes before you leave!  You won't be disappointed.

    **Local, friendly, fresh & delicious!**

Pros: Undeniable friendly service and atmosphere, delicious sandwiches and sides, good coffee drinks.

They offer a frequent coffee drinker card.

They make you feel welcome & they will remember you when you come back! ("You want to go where everyone knows your name")

Cons: They close early evenings. "Fancy" coffee concoctions a bit overpriced. (More expensive than Starbucks)

    -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------

    Overall,
I recommend Caprese or Ratatouille grilled eggplant sandwich. Ask for greens on the side if you don't want chips. Ask them about their daily specials or fresh (made from scratch) soup of the day. They can even make what you like if it's not on the menu.

I still have to go back & try the Cubano and other cheesy sandwiches not on the menu!

5 stars for being unique in the Bonita & Chula Vista area.

I had a great experience at this cafe.

The atmosphere is warm yet lively. I loved that everyone in the cafe seemed to know each other and the owner was incredibly friendly.

I ordered the Affogato: Vanilla Ice Cream with a shot of Espresso poured on top. Absolutely lovely. The Ice Cream was excellent quality and the Espresso was rich and roasty without the bitterness (could have been the ice cream ;)

I overheard the chef explaining the meals he had prepared as he set them before his guests and I fed off of the reserved enthusiasm he had for what he created. Although I didn't order food today, I look forward to going back and enjoying some artful food.

What a wonderful experience. Loved the coffee and the atmosphere.

My plan was to start my vacation day at the cafe and then get some chores done around the house.  I never made it past the comfy couches in the Global Cafe; it felt like home.

Before I knew it lunchtime rolled around and the smells coming from Randell's kitchen required further investigation.  The lunch was delicious and I do plan on leaving the cafe, sometime today.

I happened to stumble across this cafe with my best friend and will return soon! I loved the salad I choosed and that was truly surprising since I hate salads. I finished the entire plate. The coffee is really good too. The atmosphere was light and the place is gorgeous with giant teacups everywhere.

Edit- I just want to say, they have the best Chai Latte in San Diego.

After reading all the glowing reviews here on yelp, I finally had a chance to try out GCSC.

I couldn't decide between a soup or sandwich, so I chose both the soup of the day (tomato-basil, I think it was) and the ratatouille sandwich along with an Italian soda.

First off, the soup was served hot, but not scalding. Perfect. I did add a few sprinkles of pepper only because I like a little spice. Probably the only thing better than the soup was the slice of fresh bread that accompanied the soup. I wish it would have come with an extra slice or two.

Next was my sandwich, full of sweet roasted veggies & melted cheese and warm crispy bread. I LOVED IT!! It came with some potato chips (which tasted like they were made on site) and a little dish of pickled veggies. I was completely enjoying the experience of taking a big bite of the sandwich along with a piece or two of the pickled veggies, the contrast of the sour & spice of the pickled veggies vs the sweetness of the roasted ones. Delicious.

I'm a big carnivore by all accounts, but as I write this I realize that my lunch was entirely void of meat. I might even consider converting to vegetarianism if I could eat like this the rest of my life ;)

I almost forgot to mention that when my sandwich was brought out, the chef told me that because the bread split open, he would give me a mini-cupcake to make up for it. (It looked fine to me, but I wasn't gonna complain)

If you are ever in the area, definitely check this place out. I've now added another good place for a bite to eat in the neighborhood, and always on the lookout for more

So me and bf came here a while ago when I was still preggo. I went through a sandwich phase where everything I ate had to be between 2 slices of bread. So of course I had to Yelp for new places. This place popped up and had good reviews. We decided to check it out. It's a small place with a few small tables and couches. Found out they only took cash. Boo! Had to run over to the store next door to get cash back. We ordered some tasty sounding drinks and sandwiches. I was very disappointed at what I got. The sandwich I got looked like I could of just made it at home. I've gotten sandwiches at the deli section at our local grocery store that tasted better and was cheaper. The drinks tasted like it was some powder mix that they topped off with whipped cream. The owner was nice but that didn't make up for my overall expensive experience. I left pretty much disappointed. Sadly, never to return again.

After reading all the reviews on yelp i decided to try this place out. I came here to have lunch with a friend, i've been going to this shopping center forever but i never noticed this place before. It's kind of small but its decorated really nicely. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. I ordered the cubano sandwich and a mint mocha. My friend grabbed the ham and cheese sandwich and the ferrero rocher latte. The food was good and satisfying but nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to sandwiches. My mint mocha was good but i couldn't taste the espresso in it, it tasted like a hot chocolate with mint, but it was good none the less. My friend was not satisfied with her drink either because it was too sweet. If your in the neighborhood it worth stopping by and trying out but i wouldn't go out of my way to go to this place.

I searched "organic" restaurants on yelp and came across this place.  Read the reviews and was intrigued.  I finally made my way to try it and let me tell you it was impressive!  the look of the cafe is very welcoming and the people working only made the experience even more.  The food that we ordered was beyond good.  With one bit of a sandwich i could taste all the different flavors.  Fresh Parmesan, arugula, fresh bread, and the meat was amazing.  so if you are ever in Bonita stop by and check it out.  You will feel the same way as i did

So a friend and I wanted to try this place out, since I saw all the good yelp reviews it got. But the one day we do, they weren't serving any food. Supposedly they were celebrating someone's 50th birthday. Why even be open? They were even pushy about ordering drinks when we got there, so we just left. What a waste of a trip. Ended up going to The Perking Lot instead, one of the best decisions that day.

I love the Global Coffee Sidewalk Cafe.  Fabulous soup every day.  My favorite is lentil (Saturday.)  Yummy!  Served with 2  little scrumptious pieces of toast.  And now there's a lunch combo where you can get soup and sandwich or salad.  Perfect and so delicious!  We also had a dinner party there one night.  What a fabulous time we had.  The food was awesome with every course building on the  previous. Everyone raved.   I'm a tea lover and they have a great assortment.  It's so fun having this gem of a restaurant right here in Bonita.

This is my all time favorite coffee shop... and I looove coffee! The food is crazy good... The grilled cheese, lets just say, it is no ordinary grilled cheese. SOO good! It is such a great atmosphere and the service is so personal and genuine, it is like visiting a friend's home. The only down sides are the lack of wifi, which honestly isn't even that big of a deal since the internet distracts me from my homework anyway. Also, it would be nice if it were open later. I've studied there many times, and it is just perfect for eating, caffeinating, and studying (or just chilling). I'm a fan

They have salads, sandwhiches and they have their soups of the day which are soo good. They either have tomatoe basil , a lentil and or a minestrone. And the owner ( Federika) is a sweetheart who takes care of her customers. Teresa is awesome too. A super cute place to go relax and have a pleasant meal . Love it!

This place is amazing. The food here is delicious with a capital D. The customer service is amazing. When they greet you as you enter and ask "how are you" they actually care, they make you feel right at home. I go there every chance I get. I would recommend this place to anyone. I am amazed that people still go into the subway next door because for a dollar or two more you get something so much better and leave much more satisfied. When i get days off I spend them there eating the food and drinking the best coffee. I recommend the Mocha Mint. 100 times better then the one you get from Starbucks. And that says alot coming from me I am a Starbucks junkie. If they were open early enough in the morning I would go there vice Starbucks, I cant wait to meet you all there :)

This place is brand new in Bonita, right across the street the Bonita Golf Course. It is a CHARMING place, almost like a Bistro reminds me of a European Cafe. The lunch here was AMAZING! I had a soup and sandwich combo, it was fresh and delicious, glad to see they are vegetarian friendly.    I guess the owner was a chef at the Venetian in Las Vegas, he is  good! The food is excellent and the service all the more! I'll be back!
