I have been to Glenpro many times and I am always impressed by their diverse selection of hair, skin, and nail products. I have also found the service to be extremely helpful so I'm not sure what to make about the comments about rude service. This doesn't in any way mirror my experience although unlike other reviewers, I've never tried to return a product because...I've also found that Glenpro is good about giving samples. If you're not sure if you're going to like a product, ask for a sample before you buy.
While there are generally several chatty girls (chatting with each other seeming to have channeled the type of dramatically vapid conversational stylings of the cast of MTV's The Hills) near the counter, whenever I have asked for help they have bent over backwards to explain to me the nuanced difference between, say Enjoy Hydrating conditioner and Redkin Blonde Glam conditioner.
I imagine that if you're really into "products," GlenPro Beauty Center is sort of like going to Disney Land. I am product challenged, actually I am challenged when it comes to socially "womanly" upkeep, so going to GlenPro was a truly dizzying experience.
(However I do faithfully go to see Christopher owner/stylist of Splitends in Costa Mesa. http://www.yelp.com/bi... because he's great)!
There are endless aisles of beauty products. Shampoos, conditioners, gels, hairsprays, lotions, hair color, nail polish. It should be a good resource for folks in the t.v. and film industry.
I just wanted an anti-frizz balm for my hair. So many options and price ranges. The store carried some products I've seen in magazines and also carry natural-based products as well. The staff was attentive and helpful which surprised me about the other Yelp reviews which weren't so complimentary.
They also have an hair extension "bar" counter. No, there's no bartender but the set-up reminded me of a bar.
I found my product and was educated on other anti-frizz product possibilities.
Poor service, bad policies.
When I found out the moisturizer I purchased had glitter in it, I returned and was refused a refund. I was offered:
1. fruity smelling face lotion
2. another item at much higher price.
They only sell 2 brands of skin products.
The owner (rather sloppy in appearance) was hostile before I even opened my mouth, putting his face right in front of mine, and said I could go ahead and sue him but it would do me no good. I had never mentioned or threatened anything of the sort. I never did get a refund or credit. I don't use many beauty products and they don't have anything I want or need, so the store credit I've yet to receive does me no good.
This place SUCKS. Those girls don't know ANYTHING. All they do is just talk in a aisle and not even work. Don't go here. The service definitely sucks.
I give it 4 stars becaue you can find products that you can't find that easily. But the prices...em not so great. But eh can't complain... I only go to buy products that are hard to come across. Plus they have tons and tons of hair dyes, shampoos, and pretty much any beauty product you can think of. Shopping wise a good place...salon wise I would go some where else..they kinda rip you off.
