i liked this hotel.

i booked a room at a suite, a dream suite i think it was? the room was cool. it was very small, but i remember liking it. i don't know what the bed was like, as i slept on the couch. i do, however, recall the couch as being a decent sleeping surface (the person i went with was just a friend). there was a small television in the room, but this strikes me as the type of hotel where when you stay with someone, tv isn't really what's on the agenda, can you dig it?

as someone mentioned previously, they make good use of the space in the room. i didn't get to check out the rooftop bar, as i don't think it would have been my crowd. we stayed at this hotel for ufc 88, as it's so close to philips. so many tapout shirt wearing douches, it was pathetic. they made the douches wearing affliction clothing look almost cool LOL.

I loved this hotel, very quirky and cool. We only stayed one night to attend a football game at the Georgia Dome, which was quite close. The staff was very nice and helpful, lobby was beautifully decorated. The rooms were quite small but very comfy. It was a pretty sexy room, glad I went with my hubby! We did not eat in the restaurant or bar area but we did have some drinks on the roof top bar which was expensive for 4 drinks that weren't that great. The view was very cool at night though. I would like the staff to maybe try to control the bum population that hangs out by the doors and valet parking. Very uncomfortable for me, especially at night. I would stay here again though.

You can't beat the view with a stick. Seriously. You can't beat the view with a stick.  Who gives a shit about the rest?  Really. You can't beat the view with a stick.

We love this hotel. While the rooms are not huge - they are designed well and maximize the space in comfort. The flat screen tvs are nice, and even when you know a city, you can never underestimate the value of complimentary wifi to do little things like check email.

You also have a "handler" of sorts who is your personal concierge. We didn't anticipate using them, but when we had noticed a problem with the remote for our tv he came to our room at midnight to bring a replacement. When we were looking to change our restaurant reservations, the man at the front desk went so far as to call
in and squeeze us into reservations at Two Urban Licks when it was already booked.

Seriously, you don't get that kind of service everywhere. We will be back, whether its for the rooftop bar or just a relaxing evening.

I'll assume that we're talking about the rooftop bar.  Such a great view.  A great place to be to watch a sunset, hang out with some friends, and check out the city that you call home.  An eclectic crowd takes over after the sun goes down.

Nota bene: Skip the absinthe.

The Glenn Hotel is probably known to us Atlanta locals as the resting place of the now defunct B.E.D., but it still has it's 'hotel bar' thing going.

Do not come here for the crowd. This is the kind of place to bring a group of friends and take over the bar, infusing fun and debauchery throughout.

You'll meet mostly hotel guests - we met conventioneers with name tags, an entire wedding party, a hip mom that just turned 50 from Cumming celebrating and some dudes that looked straight out of an 80s music video - and maybe a few locals.

Do come here for the rooftop bar. It's amazing. Ten or so stories up, it's an incredible view of downtown Atlanta. Full bar (and restroom!) on the roof, with trendy wicker furniture and small tables scattered throughout.

The downstairs lobby bar has a DJ, who emerged from his booth and joined our dance party of my friend that turned 25, the suburban mom celebrating her 50th, and the middle aged wasted guy dancing in circles.

We got busted for sneaking a birthday cake onto the 'absolutely no food allowed' rooftop, which caused some, um, issues with the management. However, not stressful enough to prevent me from toasting the city with my glass of champagne and giving the Glenn Hotel Bar and rooftop four stars - for the skyline view and lovely randomness.

We spent a great weekend in the ultra-modern, super-hip Hotel Rouge in DC a couple of years ago, and when we came back to Atlanta I wondered if this city would ever have a boutique hotel as cool as that. I'm happy to report that we do, and I even think that the Glenn surpasses Rouge on a couple of levels.

The interior design was a real highlight for me. The lobby is beautifully decorated with dark wood details accented by vibrant oranges. Our room was very sexy (a tired word I usually hate to use, but it applies here). The very comfortable bed was dressed in a lusciously dark orange spread and a large cushioned head board. The entire room was bathed in deep, sultry colors with the sheer curtains providing a peekaboo glimpse of one of the best views of downtown I've seen.

Visiting the roof top bar at night should be on everyone's short list of things to do downtown. What a great way to experience the city. There are not many places where you can be surrounded by that kind of semi-bird's-eye urban vista while outdoors.

The gym was small but very nicely done with large screen televisions and complimentary water bottles and apples. And the breakfast they provide was really impressive for continental. There was once a great graffiti in Cabbagetown that read "continental breakfast is not real breakfast," but the spread here made me think twice about that.

This was a wedding anniversary celebration weekend for us, and we both really enjoyed our decision to stay in Atlanta and experience the best of downtown. We walked to Le Fleur de Lis for both dinner and Sunday brunch and loved it, and strolled through Centennial Park  during the late morning before the crowds came. Very nice.

The bar on the roof was cool, nothing like "dancing on the ceiling." The DJ was playing Stevie Wonder only which was cool but not that cool.

The room was a suite and it was sweet. Careful with the amenities, they will charge you.

I'll have to try it again with Deanna J's concept of "bring the party."

Wait... could this be an annual yelp event? Can we get yelp discounts?

Are we really ever going to bring our troops home?

The Hotel is beautiful. From the candlelit lobby, to the amazing back lit stone wall behind the bar, and excellent wine at the bar. But I have to say my experience wasn't great. The people were fantastic; excellent service and dinner recommendations. Even when I couldn't figure out how to turn on my high-tech TV, they were professional and didn't mock me....to my face any way. But the noise....noise.....NOISE. Holy crap! I felt as if fire trucks and freight trains were literally driving through my room at 1am....then at 2:43am....then again at 3:28am...and on and on.  Worst 2 nights "sleep" ever.

I really loved the look at feel of this hotel. But I think my next visit back to Hot-Lanta will have to be at the Hilton sad to say-but at least I know they've got a little bit of sound proofing.

So 5++++ stars for atmosphere, but when you travel for business sleep is pretty damn critical!

Wow, I've never been so bored. I was completely unimpressed by the Rooftop Party on Wed night. If you like being around bleach blonds wearing string and listening to over thought house/trance then step up to the bar. We stayed here all of 15 mins. I love nightlife and dancing, but some of these "clubs" are in a word lame. Am I the only one who thinks standing on a roof getting drunk with people I don't know is.... weird? The view is great as long as you aren't looking at the people, not that they see you because the are so drunk. Ladies don't wear too thin of a heel as you are on a roof with loose tiles. There is also this spongy material between the tiles that seems drawn to skinny heels. If you were into Buckhead then you will love it, no cover, $6 beers, Bros and Blonds all the way.

The rooftop bar is pretty cool.  Nice spot, expensive drinks, good music turned into techno.  Gets a little crowded.  One of my friends was dressed like a bum, and I thought they mights not let us in, but they did, no problem.  I don't go much because of the price, but it's a good place to take visitors from out of town so they can see the Atlanta skyline.

For our one night in Atlanta, we wanted a fun boutique hotel.  This hotel reminds us of Atlanta's version of The Standard in Los Angeles.  It is decorated in a modern, sexy style as are the clientele at the bar and restaurant below.  The staff is even friendly.  If you have heavy bags, have the front desk take them to your room instead of lugging them up and down the lobby steps.  If jet lag has you awake all night,  the flat screen tv and wifi will keep you occupied.

I like the concept of this place but it has fallen short in so many ways. I did a weekend getaway with my wife one weekend and the service was horrible. For some reason after that experience I still continued to suggest it to out of town visitors. My company actually started an account there and all the guys from London were staying there till they got fed up with the bar closing early. Very sexy place, glad to read they finally fixed the roof situation. I will go back and check it out.

In response to Angela H.  Definitely not, comparable to the Standard.  Maybe more like the Custom, on the kitchy pretentious side, but at least they take care of their paying guests.
Odd white stain on our couch arm rest (hmm, wonder that is).  The dated, green-tinted shower tile is reminiscent of college dorms...with the disgusting particles and stains...get out your old shower flip flops!
Disappointing service from 3 doormen at a door who were busy talking that you had to open the door yourself, to making guests wait to go to the rooftop while you watch buxom blonds and groups go right in, to rude bartenders.  There were some pluses, but it's really all been overshadowed by the state of the rooms and again disappointing service of some staff.
It is what it is, but if a hotel is not living up to 4 stars, take it down a notch, rebuild and hit the ground.  Otherwise you'll just be placing a bad taste, and surely a bad reputation.
