5 reviews for Glasbern
The trek up to Fogelsville was well worth the trip to dine at the Glasbern. Tucked away in the "mountains" above the Lehigh Valley this B+B has an amazing restaurant. One great draw to the Glasbern is that many of the ingredients on their menu, including some of the proteins, are raised on the premises. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and well lit to create a romantic atmosphere. The service was top notch from start to finish and our waitress was helpful in suggesting entrees. They also have a prix-fixe menu, what we did when we went.
The salads we had were very fresh, the apps delicious, and the creme brulee with fresh fruit topped off a great meal. Our entrees were fantastic. The duck I ordered (go figure!) was cooked perfectly and toped with pomegranate seed. Yum!! My wife's "glasburn pasture chicken breast" was moist and flavorful. Awesome. We also took advantage of the recommended wine pairings on the menu and I would recommend doing this.
We had a great experience and the atmosphere made you fell warm and welcomed. I will report there was one woman with a group of about eight people who we overheard and saw be very rude to our waitress for not bringing her a clean wine glass with her wine order. I can understand this, but the woman really needed to get over herself, especially since the waitress we had was super sweet.
I would absolutely recommend the Glasbern to anyone looking to get away for a fine dining experience in a bucolic setting.

My husband and I just spent the weekend at Glasbern Inn for his birthday. We had the most wonderful time. The food (both 4 course Saturday dinner and breakfast) was excellent. Many of the ingredients are raised right on Glasbern farm.
They raise Goats, Sheep, Pigs (a few) Cattle, Chickens and Ducks. Plus they grow tons of great veggies and herbs which they use in their restaurant. A true "from pasture to plate" experience.
The accomodations (though pricey) are also first-rate. We chose a Pool-side suite (Carriage House) whioch included a King-sized bed, a HUGE whirlpool tub (which is precisely why we chose it) and a fireplace (not needed in August - but I bet in winter this is very cool.).
Musikfest was going on that week - so there was alot to do nearby. Not sure if that's true year-round.
We'll definitely return.
I bet this would be a great place to host a wedding or other large event. They have 35 rooms and are building a new spa.
I had a wonderful time here last weekend. We wanted to tour three vineyards in the area and this Inn is very close to all three of them. First of all, the buildings and the grounds are beautiful. There are tons of places to walk around or sit down and read a book. Depending on what field you walk by, you'll see sheep, goats, and grass-fed cows. If you venture further you'll find the pigs and ducks. If farm life isn't your style, don't worry. The animals aren't in your face and you won't smell them!
Upon checking in, the friendly woman at the front desk informed us that our rooms had been updated. This meant that we now had a big whirlpool tub right in our rooms! Apparently August is their off season so if they have extra rooms they upgrade you, sounds good to me! When we saw the rooms we realized why people would love staying at Glasbern in the winter too. The rooms have a rustic look to them and are very spacious. There is a gas fireplace (prefer real fireplaces which they used to have, but I understand that could create issues) exposed beams, the large wood-trimmed tub, and gorgeous views of the surrounding pastures. I saw a card with drink prices on it for the mini fridge, but when we checked in they told us it was all complementary. There were a couple of nice beers, sodas, and waters in there. The beds were very comfortable.
Dinner at Glasbern was a prix-fixe four course affair. They serve many meats and vegetables that are grown organically on the property. I have to tell you, this meal was amazing. Comparing it to Nora in D.C., it is much better. Better tastes, bigger portions, just more drool-worthy!
The next morning, still stuffed from the night before, we came back to their dining room for breakfast, which is included in the price. They have a lovely table laid out with juices, coffee, organic teas, yogurt, granola, bread, muffins, and jams. Then you get a menu from which you can order a breakfast entree from! We all tasted each others breakfasts and they were just as great as the dinner from the night before.
I was so pleased with the service that we received from EVERYONE that we came in contact with. They really go above and beyond with thoughtful details here. I can't wait until I can come back to Glasbern again for another relaxing and fun stay.
I loved this place so much I got married there!! Gorgeous, althoug pricey, rooms. Wireless internet access. Whirlpool tubs and fireplaces to die for.
Also a beautiful upscale restaurant with all organic and free-range food harvested on the premises.
Great place for a social or business event. Staff was wonderful, and helpful. Listened to my needs and got us out of small emergencies. Would recommend them to anyone.
My boyfriend brought me to Glasbern for a get-away weekend as part of my Christmas gift. Never have I had a better experience. We stayed at the Garden Cottage (has two fireplaces and a whirlpool tub, which I took full advantage of). Everything is ready for you to just start relaxing... firewood is cut and ready to be burned... robes await in the closet for when you finish with the whirlpool...all in the comfort of a beautifully rustic setting. We spent a day touring the local vineyards of the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail, which are very close nearby. The breakfast that was included with the lodging was wonderful and fresh; a lot of the food was raised right there on the farm. The Inn is nestled in the hills of the countryside, yet not far from the highway and other local venues. The weekend overall cost was expensive in my eyes, but it was definitely worth every penny. The service was friendly, sincere and top-notch. And overall, Glasbern is just beautiful... even in the middle of winter, this country Inn was warm and inviting. To echo the previous sentiments over the four course meal on Saturday night... the food was excellently prepared and presented... cooked to perfection. I will most definitely be making a return to Glasbern.
