The people that have reviewed this place before are right on the money.
I HATE doing laundry. Some years ago, I was participated in a focus group. The choices were, if you won $$$$ to have someone perform a chore for you would you choose,
Lawn Service
Cooking Service
Laundry Service
I chose laundry service. I tell you, I will buy new clothes and underwear before I will do laundry sometimes. I really HATE laundry.
So there is a 24 hour laundry mat near my home, that I normally go to but I went and there were more machines with Out of Order signs on them than should be when you are running a laundry business and since I was not about to stand there and stalk washers, I came onto YELP and found this place. (note to Yelp:how did I ever live without you)
(LOL) I still have not bought that washer and dryer yet. Those things are expensive, but now that I see I've been putting the purchase off for over a year, I will reconsider it again.
Coin operated is the best way to describe it here, They have a coin machine and it takes $1, $5, $10 and $20. LOL, at me needing $50 worth of quarters to wash and dry all the clothes and bedding and towels I had.
I went in about midnight and there was a couple leaving when I got there, two guys driving a cab arrived the same time I did, and one other lady came in during the two hours I was there, so if you want the place nearly to yourself, after midnight seems like a good time.
Video cameras all over the place, so safety may be an issue, but at least it will all be caught on tape.
Also cable TV.
The machines are old, and yes, coin operated, but they get your clothes clean, they arent leaking all over the floors and my clothes were dry after about 20-25 minute drying cycle.
I would do this again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Brittany S.Detroit, MI34599Nov 20, 2007First to Review
Clearly, this is yelp.com, so I can yelp about any business I want...even the laundromat!!!!
That being said, I am here to YELP about Glad Rags Cleaners & Coin Laundromat.
The cleaners part of the title is slightly misleading, as this is not a cleaners establishment. But, it is a coin laundry!!! And a great one at that. It sits in a little strip mall with a coffee shop, a hair salon and a barber shop. I never see too much activity from the other businesses, though.
I have been W/D-less for quite some time now (don't ask why). Therefore, I have been patronizing Glad Rags for years. What I love most about them is:
1. They are open 24 HOURS.
2. Somebody is always on-call. (Once, I had a problem with a washing machine and somebody was there in record time with my refund :)
3. You pay for the washers and dryers with quarters, not some pre-paid, rip-off laundry card.
4. They are open 24 HOURS.
Nobody really works, works here. The owners/staff come in periodically to take out the trash and clean the place up but that's about it. Don't worry though, about 12 of those big, black camera balls hang out of the ceiling so rest assured if Jack the Ripper comes in and tries to attack you, it'll all be on camera!
Glad Rags has tons of washing machines and dryers....my guesstimate is about 30-40 washing machines and 20 dryers. Double Loaders, Triple Loaders, SUPER Loaders...ranging in price from $2 to $4.50. BIG dryers (one quarter = 7.5 minutes) that get really hot and dry your laundry thoroughly. Two change machines and detergent/dryer sheet vending machine, of course. There's a TV (with cable) and several benches (rather hard but they serve the purpose) in the front to keep you entertained and comfy while you wash/dry. If you feel like you want to relive your childhood years, they even have a Miss Pacman video game! Ample laundry carts and tables for you to fold your laundry. There have been a few times when, upon arrival, I was the only one there, but that has never lasted long; people frequent this place quite often - another time I was searching frantically for an empty dryer.
I am so GLAD I found GLAD Rags (allow me to be corny for a second). I am a loyal customer for life! (or at least until I get my own washer and dryer)...and hopefully, because of yelp, somebody out there somewhere will become a loyal customer too :)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Renise B.Atlanta, GA216Mar 21, 2012
Awesome. I was in and out. The dryers are powerful. I didnt realize that until I folded my clothes.
Glad that they had coin machine. I didnt have to stalk wal-mart for quarters.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sebrina B.New Orleans, LA8331972Jan 21, 2012
This review is really just to verify that all the important things Brittany S said in 2007 still remains true about glad rags years later. Security, 24 hours, prices, coin operated, on site helpful staff/owners.
The only things that have changed are the surrounding businesses. The strip mall now houses a pizzeria (which I will certainly partake in the next time I visit glad rags) and a karate dojo.
I will give it five stars when they add wifi and add some washers and driers that are not 30 years old (they work but they are just not as pretty as the new ones).Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jonathan X.Washington, DC1284209Nov 28, 2014
It's fairly run down and worn out. The machines look like they're from the 1980s. You'll spend $5 to wash in the giant washers (one large comforter), and $3.50 to wash in the large (Triple) washers - two blankets max. The Junior washers might hold a load of socks at $2. The dryers are a quarter for 10 minutes, not bad, and they run fairly well. That means they get hot and they dry. There's some hard benches to sit on, as well as a tv that you can change. Not sure if there's wifi, although I did see some vending machines and an arcade game machine.
It would be nice if the place were a little ... cleaner, brighter, maybe some newer machines made after 1985. Otherwise not much else you can say. It's a laundromat...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Candace B.Gainesville, GA47716Dec 14, 2013
As far as laundromats go this one is an oasis of perfection.
I'm in here every weekend and it has always been clean. The machines are older but very well maintained, they work better than most of the newer ones in other laundromats I've been too. It's safe, other laundromats in the area have had a sketchy element that has left me feeling uncomfortable more than once. Not here.
If you do have a problem with a machine there is a number posted that is answered by the gentlemen that runs the place. If he isn't on site he will be down as soon as he can to help you out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sherrie J.Smyrna, GA781Sep 3, 2016
It was a little run down and had been broken into on more than one occasion, but it was my go to laundromat. Scott was always around to help. One time I accidentally left a bag of clothes and he hung onto it for me. I just recently noticed it had closed. Wish I knew why.

As a new resident in Lithia Springs, GA from CA, I found this institution on yelp and so glad I did. I drive 25 minutes from home to here because the institution is clean, affordable, air conditioned, no issues with the machines, and best of all the great customer service. Every time I come, the owner is welcoming, busy working, personable, in good spirits even when he is working hard, and approachable. I'm so happy that I found a great place to do my laundry! Bonus.....its right next to a yummy pizza place!

It's open 24 hours. It's close to my home. The machines work. There's a TV, a soda machine and most importantly, there's a Pac-Man/Galaga machine. There's nothing more to be said.

I recently moved to Atlanta and have never used a laundry mat before. Needless to say, best experience ever. Scott, the owner, helped me every move of the way. The washers and dryers fit a large amount of clothes. It's also fairly quick. All the customers seem extremely nice and it's a great location. The pizza shop next door is definitely a great time killer. I won't be looking elsewhere for another place to do my laundry.
