Cool restaurant. So huge, and typical sport bar. Their pasta is good, Pizza awesome, service nice, soda keep it comin, cleanliness great.
Everything is good until you got the bill. I don't say that this place is expensive but it is a bit pricey. Spent like 13 bucks for the pasta, luckily their food is great too,
I really want to come back here with friends to watch Chargers while drink some booze :D
This place is pretty good.
The layout with the tables lined up end to end remind me of eating pizza with the team during my youth soccer days.
The service is friendly and laid back.
I really like the Chicken and Veal Parmigiana sandwiches here. The fries that accompany them are a nice bonus.
Also there's a game room with a pool table.
I had a problem when a pizza I ordered had some plastic in the crust. It wasn't the end of the world -- these things happen, but it was unfortunate that I'd just paid $20 for a pizza I no longer felt comfortable eating (in the event there was more bits n' pieces).
The pizza was ordered on a Friday and I called the next day and was told the manager wasn't in and to call back. I called again Sunday and was told to call back on Monday to talk to the manager. I called again on Monday and was told the manager was on a break. At this point, I was starting to get pretty irritated and explained, in a nutshell, the situation. You'd think that would be enough to get the manager off a break, but no, the guy who answered the phone took a message and said the manager would call me back in about 15 minutes. No return call.
Three hours later, I called *again* and the same guy said the manager had gone home. NOW I was upset. What was originally not a big deal and I was just going to alert them to the issue in case it happened again now had me annoyed at the lack of concern or follow-through, let alone customer service.
I was disappointed because I liked the food here a lot and this was only the 2nd time I'd ever ordered from them. When I voiced my dismay to the guy who answered the phone, he said, "Well, what can I do for you right now? What do you want me to do to remedy this?" and I said, "Well, I think that's up to YOU to decide how you're going to fix it, but I'm bummed that I spent $22 on a pizza I couldn't eat."
He put a note on my account that a free Works pizza would be mine the next time I ordered it. I appreciated his effort to resolve the situation, even if it seemed a little... "yeah whatever". That's ok, I didn't want him to fawn over me, just fix it! I took advantage of the freebie and ordered again. This time, the pizza was fine and plastic-free.
I'm sure it was just a freak incident, so I won't dock a star for that, but I am VERY tempted to dock a star at the management's lack of interest in my genuine concern. If the guy I spoke to hadn't taken the initiative, I would be doing just that. What was going to be a simple "Hey, careful, there was plastic in my crust" turned into a "Now you've offended me and I may not order from you again". And that's not the way to win a loyal customer.
I'll give them another chance, but I hope whoever was supposed to call me back reads this and returns the call of the next person who calls with a concern.

About a week ago we wanted pizza, but didn't want the usual chain-joints, so I remembered the $4… Read more »
This place does not try to cover up what it is, a greasy spoon Italian joint. Delicious food and always a gut bomb. Parking sucks at this place, competing with Abbey's BBQ down a few doors and many others.
I hit this place at least once whenever I am in town. The house special has pepperoni, sausage, cheese and bacon, the holy trinity of my pizza world. The amazing thing the amount of cheese they put on when you ask for EXTRA cheese. They just rock it on! The selection of tap beers suits this place well, love the Red Trolley. I like to sit close to the high def TV to watch hockey, only to be out numbered by college football fans.'
Great pie, good service, right down the street from San Diego's best hotel, the Hampton Inn and Suites.
I've ordered pizzas from Giovanni's for work events for the past 2 years and they are always a hit. Good size, plenty of toppings, good crust. My favourite is the Roasted Garlic Chicken...it's awesome and people devour it!!!
Went up for lunch with friends and tried the calzone and it was better than I had expected (from trying them other places). It was round, about 6 inches across and high and puffy...and full of cheesy goodness! I ate half and was full...would have tried to finish it anyway but I was running late!
Big dining room, only 2 stations to order from and you have to go up and ask them to refill your beverage (kind of annoying when they're busy and you gotta get back to work in time). The parking during the day is notoriously bad...lots of food places sharing one lot.
i'm a big fan of this place. its a great lunch spot, since it is right down the street from work. i've been here lots and i'm never disappointed in my meal. a lot of the times the portions are so big that i can save it as a snack for later!
i highly recommend the meatball sub and the calzones. YUM! they also used to have this fantastic french dip sandwich...but i'm sorry to report that they dont serve it anymore. huge bummer b/c it was my favorite thing to order. the meals come w/ a side salad which is a bonus! my only complaint about this, is that usually the bottom of the salad is watery and runny. kinda gross...but i still eat it anyway. maybe they should invest in a salad spinner?! ha.
overall great food, fast service, lots of seating. the parking lot can kind of be a shit show at lunch - but not their fault.
Good food, big portions, fair prices.
The pizza we had was topped with what seemed like close to a pound of mozzarella. Our house salad was crisp and fresh with tasty bleu cheese. Service was quite fast (considering there was a HUGE party gathered in the adjacent banquet room). Several beer on tap to choose from, and even a small "soup" bar.
They have lots of seating (as mentioned above) and a game room (pool table, video games). I'm curious to try some of their other items next time. The place had the vibe of an east coast pizzeria.
Mexican pizza, Calamari, and French Fries....SOOOO GOOOD! The Mexican pizza has cilantro, fresh tomatoes, onions, cheese, fresh sliced avocado on top, wtth a side of sour cream. It's so refreshing of a pizza. Really different, no need for a side order of ranch to dip it in only need ranch for the french fries. You must try the pizza, it's amazing :) Our server was really nice too, the fooseball machine took my quarter and she didn't give me a hard time to get my quarter back. Try it! SERIOUSLY!
I've only been here once and had a small pepperoni pizza. The service was reasonably fast and the food was quite good. The dining room was very clean and, just as important, the restroom was clean. I'll return again.
Great pizza and always a great time. My son loves the fact that they give him a chunk of pizza dough to play with while waiting for the food to arrive. I love their spumoni ice cream!
I had a $10 http://restaurant.com certificate here so we ordered a vegetarian pizza and a Hawaiian pizza. The pizza crust on the small pizzas were nice and crispy the way I like it. Their largest pizza didn't even seem that large though, so it seems like a rip off for the money. The pizza was good and the cheese was nice and ooey-gooey.
I like their Pizza they have many selections even the Mexican Pizza is yummy. We like to go here on our lunch break since it's so close to work.
This my favorite pizza, pasta place in Clairemont, Kearney MEsa area. The pizza dough is great and they use good mozarella so extra cheese is a great option. I have tried their lasagna and it was really good also. They just remodeld this site so its cool to go there and have lunch and watch the Padres loose:(
Thai chicken and cheese pizza's are so good. I love the crust here it's perfect thin and chewy with crunch. The antipasto salad is a value with picked veggies, meats, and cheeses great tasting too! Don't get the shrimp quesadilla! It's made with a stale tortilla (unacceptable in California) olives?, tomatoes, bells, and baby baby shrimp. No bueno! Oh yeah I wouldn't take a date here or to the other restaurant it's a ghetto place.
