Pizza is my favorite food for sure.... Gino's is the best pizza place on LIB.(please note on LIB not NYC) I had my pizza and italian ice fix all in one spot. They have beer and wine too.

Long Beach, NY
Why must everything in Long Beach be a
so over-hyped? Yet another establishment that rides the coattails of a reputation it doesn't deliver on, and man, is it overpriced. Anyone who thinks Gino's is what's up, has never been to Umberto's of New Hyde Park. -
Review from Cara A.
A good beach and a good slice of pizza have something in common: both are best enjoyed topless.
At Long Beach: Technically, a girl can discreetly ditch her bikini top and not get hauled off for indecent exposure. But I've tried it on several occassions over the past 10 years, and I can tell you that it's not the most comfortable experience if you're even remotely within walking distance of Edwards Blvd and the LIRR throngs.
At Gino's: You'll walk in and see slices with chicken, and extra sauces, and pepperoni, and sausage... but you're better off going topless (well, topping-less). A plain slice is delicious, salty, cheesey, and splendid. Quite oily, yes, but grab some napkins and take it outside, where you can sit at an old-school bench-table and make a greasy mess as you tuck in. Be warned: if you usually eat 2 slices, you might want just one. They're weightier in one's belly than they first appear.
A notable exception to the topping-less rule (kind of like a random weekday in early September, when the water is still warm enough, but the beach isn't blanket-to-blanket with New Yorkers -- that's when a girl might be able to let the biscuits out in the open without harassment): The spinach roll, which is essentially a huge mound of garlicky spinach and mozzarella, all rolled up in pizza-dough bread that is sliced on a transverse plane, and may be eaten with or without a fork.
My fantasy: Some day, I'll have a plain slice from Gino's, while sitting at the water's edge, wearing just my skivvies, and without a soul in sight. -

Point Lookout, NY
I guess I don't understand the hype. I ordered a regular slice and a sicilian slice to eat in. The regular slice was bland; cardboard-like crust, no flavor in the sauce. The sicilian was dry and same blandness in the sauce. Employees weren't rude but also weren't the friendliest.
I sometimes wonder if people think places are good because they've been brainwashed by so many people telling them so. I think this may be a good example of that. -

Good cheese slices...but better location. I don't want to sell their slices short though...they are the best on long beach. No doubt about that. It's so convenient when getting off the LIRR.

New York, NY
The pizza was perfect. The cheese was tasty hot and stringy deliciousness. The crust was baked just right and the sauce was better than grandmother ever made. Two of us ate what i consider a sizable meal for $12 bucks. I can not wait to go back and get the whole pie. I also tried the Sicilian slice which was amazing as well. Service was fast once i moved past the menu drones who were just taking up space. (Typically that is indecisive ole me). Like i said can not wait to go back again.

Great pizza. I've been having this for years and I love it.
My family loves to order pies from here. There cheese pie is great and hits the spot when you want good pizzeria pizza. The spinach wheel and broccoli are pretty decent here too. -
Review from Liz S.
There are many great restaurants in Long Beach, but Gino's is by far my favorite. Old-world simplicity in a casual atmosphere makes it a favorite among locals, and it's easy to see why.
It's a place that you can go to all the time with any group of people - whether you have kids who want a slice of their excellent pizza, to a family birthday, to a casual date.
Don't forget to check the specials board, and by all means, don't skip the appetizers - they are wonderful. We recently had a grilled portobello mushroom stuffed with diced tomatoes, garlic and fresh mozzarella cheese - heaven. Another must have is the sauteed artichokes - you get about 8 of them in a lemon-wine sauce and they are divine. Would be great over pasta as a main course.
Pizza and pasta are best bets for main courses. I had the Paparadelle Bolognese, and the pasta was super-fresh with a savory meat sauce. Portions are huge, so you'll have some for breakfast the next day.
Desserts are good - I would recommend the brownie. Or you can take your pick of ice creams from the ice cream counter in the front.
Oh, Gino's, why aren't you in my home town?Listed in: Last Stop, Long Beach!

My favorite Pizza in the world!
When I go to NY I make my pilgrimage to Gino's. I ate my last meal as a NYer here. The same people still there from the old days.
This is the Pizza I rank every other slice to. This is my gold standard for Pizza. Still do not get it?

solid B+
I don't know what the hype is.
Its just a solid NY pizza, not the best I ever taste. there is a fast turnover. service is decent. The pizza if a typical solid NY type pizza. We ordered a whole reg. pizza pie. I may need a retry if its any better. The sicilian slice appears to be very delicious -
Review from Amador A.
Very busy place especially after a nice day at the beach. I always wanted to try a slice of their pizza and of course when I came in and saw their menu, I didn't have a slice. Oh well.
Besides what I really wanted I had the manicotti with a peperoni pinwheel. Both was ok nothing to brag about.
Next time I come I promised myself I will have a slice or two or three of pizza. -

Brooklyn, NY
Now as a spoiled Brooklyn boy that has grown up around some of the best pizza in NY, I will have to give Gino's a great review...because it is just that...great pizza!
If you are not from the area...do yourself a favor...get your ass to Long Beach. Take the LIRR and get out of the city for a day by the beach. When you arrive in Long Beach's station, simply cross Park Ave and hit up this delicious location for a sick pie!
Then when you stuff your belly...walk up the block and hang out at the beach for the day. The sauce is delicious, the cheese so good, and and toppings are delicious. We had mushrooms (fresh ones, but the rubbery canned ones) and pepperoni. Both toppings were perfect! The service is great and everyone working there was nice and polite, even though it was a mad house with so much work to do. Loved it and I will be back! -

Long Beach, NY
overrated. The convience of having a pizza place right across the street from the train station is great, so if you want to grab a slice before getting on the train or on your way home - hit them up - but the pizza isn't fantastic. Its okay...but there are definately better slices not too far away. The food was mediocre. I found it to be a little too salty for my taste; but the portions were large. So you could essentially have a lot of salty food. Their salads were really good. And they did a nice bruschetta to start the meal - but they charged you 2 dollars each for additional slices, which I thought was a little weird. So good...not great. Living in Long Beach, I dont eat here unless other people insist. And the parking by ginos is tough when its the busy time, people in Long Beach tend to think its okay to just pull over and wait in front of the restaurant instead of parking like a normal person - basically clogging up the main road.

Review from Scott R.
Right across from the Long Beach train station and a couple blocks from the beach, this is a great lunch time choice in an area w/out many.
The cheese slices are very good. Crisp crust. Nice Italian spices. They've got a very good fresh mozzarella and tomato Sicilian slice as well. They are generous with the toppings as well - at least based on the sausage and pepperoni slices I've seen.
The place has ample seating and you can go in beach attire. They also sell Gino's Italian Ices and Sedutto's ice cream (love the peanut butter crunch).
While it would be better if the Long Beach boardwalk had more food options (more = any), I'm glad Gino's isn't too far away... -

Long Beach, NY
(This 5 star review is based on pizza ratings and not other foods I try not to mix food genres and throw around 5 stars)
Gino's is a Long Beach institution, that being said if you lived at least six months or more in LB you more than likely know the Gino's craving....I've been eating here for 25 years and still the slices are the same flavor and everything! As far is real style classic NY pizza goes this is it, it's the best "regular slice" that you will probably crunch into. I usually keep it classic here, 2 regulars, small soda and sometimes a lemon ice.
If you are coming in from NYC to get to the beach, I highly recommend grabbing a slice to go. -

Oh Gino's, why will I never find another pizza as good as you?
Living in Minnesota now, the Gino's I grew up on has pretty much set the standard for every slice I consume, and it's been a Friday night tradition in my family for quite some time. To this day, my family still orders there so much that the woman who takes take out orders recognizes my dad's voice when he phones it in.
Other than the pizza, the garlic knots are a must have. They're cheap for a half dozen, and absolutely faaaaaantastic. If you're going in for sit down, their rigatoni al la vodka is great, and so are their meatballs. As for the apps, I'm not crazy about their bruschetta, but the mozzarella sticks are some fabulous fried goodness. -

Gino's knows pizza...(and pasta too)
For us NYC commuters, this place is simply evil. The late day hunger that we all get is only increased by the slow creeping of the LIRR train over the bridge before the station. The red "Gino's" sign basically calls you from Island Park, and you're lured in by the smell of fresh pizza being brought out of the oven. Why can't pizza be healtyh? It's just not fair...
Well the slices are perfectly salty with the right amount of cheese and sauce. I definitely think the "plain" slice is the treat, though the buffalo chicken is a nice alternative. The prices are not cheap, but it's worth it for the best pizza in Long Beach.
If you truly become addicted and choose to mask this by ordering other items off the menu - then go for any of the soups since they are all made fresh and seasoned to perfection. They are all nice and filling, and go perfect with a slice of pizza. The pastas are impressive as well - so don't be shy about sitting down for a nice Sunday night feast...but good luck fighting the urge the next time the train pulls in... -

Outstanding pizza and other fine Italian food, terrific customer service, wonderful wait staff that gets you in and out even when the place is jammed to the gills, ice cold beer on a hot summer day, top notch ice cream for dessert, what's not to like? I have lots of friends from out-of-town and this is a must stop for them every single time they visit.

Middle Village, NY
I came here the other night with a few friends. As I was driving past I saw this big ornamented awning that said Gino's of Long Beach. My first thought was this was one of those sit down italian places which at 1030 at night I was not really in the mood for. Luckily it was a pizzeria, and a very nice one at that. When you walk in there are two counters on either side, the left one for ices and ice cream, the right one for pizza. I ordered two slices which the kind woman gladly popped in the oven and in minutes my pizza was nice and hot ready to be eaten. I sat down outside on one of the nice tables they had and enjoyed my pizza in the nice atmosphere of Long Beach. The pizza was really good and definitely worthy of a second trip back.

Okay, here's what you do. Get yourself on the LIRR and head to Long Beach. Gino's is pretty close to the train station on your walk to the beach. The pizza is amazing! Two stand-outs are the buffalo chicken and the Grandma pizza. The buffalo chicken pie (made with blue cheese) is so freaking rich and creamy. You'll probably only need one slice. The Grandma is the other end of the spectrum - simple, light, delicious. Trust me, you'll want to get more pizza on your way back from the beach, too!

Very slow service. The pizza is good. The sandwiches are decent, but lack flavor and can be very dry.

Long Beach, NY
I judge a pizza place mostly by its plain slice. 4/5 stars is very positive coming from a New Yorker who enjoys many a city slice over Gino's. Good stuff as far as staying local goes. Garlic knots are okay, not great. Veal parm hero shoulda been called Veal Parm GARLIC hero. Nice taste but who asked for the garlic?

cute lil fast food joint... the front awning makes u feel like this used to be an old school cinema though...
selections of pizza on one side... ice cream and italian ice on the other side...
few old school cafeteria like tables placed outside...
had 2 scoops of cookies and cream and cappucino... nothing special... 2 scoops for 4 bucks! guy behind the counter was nice though -
Review from Karol S.
I have to give it 4 stars because I know better pizza exists (like DiFara's in Brooklyn) but the truth is that no better pizza exists anywhere in Gino's vicinity. I used to live on their slices during teenage Long Beach summers. Crispy crust, awesome sauce and cheese. It's also convenient to the LIRR in case you're killing time before a train. The ice cream is great too.

They have pretty awesome pizza. I grew up in Brooklyn so I was born knowing what good pizza should taste like, so this place gets 4.5 stars from me.

All I have to say it - Grandma Pie! This is my favorite and I think that that will be what I plan on eating from now on. I have always loved Pepperoni and this pie has changed my fave forever I think. The staff is always friendly and everything is very fresh. I have never eaten inside; however, it's perfect to take home with you and to have a glass of wine as well!

Went to Gino's for lunch and was reminded of the great food (besides pizza) that they serve. My wife and I had soup and a couple of appetizers for our meal. The soups were home made and very tasty ( a minestrone and a pasta fagioli). We had mussels marinara and their signature dish, clams posillipo. Portions were generous and there was a steady supply of bread to dip in the rich sauces. We've been irregular visitors to Gino's for 25 years, mostly due to the fact that they don't deliver.

OK pizza, reason such a good rating is because there clean and nice. wouldnt really go back other than to just "grab a slice"
