I'm here almost three times a week for a quick lunch.
It's your standard pizza joint. A slice of cheese is around $3 and there's a $10 min on credit cards. The pizza tastes good but not amazing. It's a chilled and clean place to relax at and eat. If you buy the ready made pizza, you gotta tell them to re-heat it or they'll just serve it to you at room temperature. -

I guess some people like bad stuff, just like some like the pain of a tattoo, or the fist of an abusive boyfriend to your face. I would just call them the "other" people.
I very seldom have mid range reviews because they're the one that don't really stay in your memory. This sucky place sure did though!!
I used http://Waiter.com, to order from here, and I worked from home. The next day, I had two of my guys missing and the other 4 that were left hated me!
When I asked why, they told me it was the food from Gino's. One complained about dry flavorless crust. Another complained about 16oz worth of grease that made him run for the bathroom asap, another complained about some creepy mystery meat in the lasagna, another two weren't there to elaborate more than "i have the shits today, I'm not coming in". But they ALL complained about rubbery terribly flavorless cheese and COLD FOOD, not matter what they ordered it was all cold.
Now the cold food could have easily been the driver's fault, and our order was delayed by 40 minutes, which is most likely why our food was cold. I never inquired about it, after I got a push notification that my food would arrive late I just settled for that. After reading the other reviews, I wouldn't put it past Gino's to be at fault for that one.
ewwwww, this place has been taken off my list for lunch ordering.
Gino's get your act together!! read your reviews and do something about it!! -

We have pizza every Friday in the office and decided to give Gino's a whirl. I've never had it before so naturally I decided to read some Yelp reviews. I was scared to see the one star postings. However, the pizza was already ordered and I decided to give it a chance and try it at least once. Maybe my expectations would be lowered and it wouldn't be so bad.
HUGE mistake. Gino's pizza is terrible. It's probably the worst pizza I have ever had and pizza is almost always good. While it wasn't inedible, it just wasn't worth eating. What was wrong with it? The crust was bad. Super dry and very bland. There was barely any sauce or cheese and it had the skimpiest amount of toppings found anywhere. As much as people knock Domino's and Pizza Hut, those chains kick the sh*t out of Gino's.
The two pizzas I tried were the veggie and Greek. Usually I have to pick off the green peppers, but in this case, Gino's uses so few toppings that I easily had my pick of 2-3 slices where there were no green peppers at all. The Greek was a bit better, but even with sun dried tomatoes on it, the overall taste was, well....none. Bland, bland, bland.
I just had another bite because I'm hungry - geezus, this is really sucky pizza. It's sad when the best part of my lunch is the can of Fresca I'm drinking. Now I will be disgruntled the rest of the day. -

If you wake up in the early afternoon and want/need a pizza... Gino's is about the only place that will deliver at 11:00am. There is by no means any acceptable excuse for ordering pizza from here after 4:00pm.
The pizza isn't great... but at 11:00am and at $10* for a large... you really can't complain!
*http://Delivery.com has a %25 off special so it comes to $10 after the discount when you order online. -

That one last extra star is because I LOVE THEIR ANGEL HAIR WITH CREAMY TOMATO SAUCE. Me and her... we go way back.
There was a time when I was living in the dorms, feeling super shitty, and just wanna gorge and murder every kinds of carbs available in San Francisco... and oh... my... god..... the angel hair with creamy tomato sauce is JUST PERFECT! they come in HUGE portion, TONS of sauce, and I just go ga-ga for angel hair.
Otherwise...
Eggplant Parmigiana = shit
Chicken Wings = shit
Caesar Salad = even shittier. -

doing one of my touristy day's in the city, had too much sweetness at ghiradelli square with my free cup of sundae, and my bf was craving something salty. Since gino's was the closest pizza joint to our parking spot, we decided to grab a quick bite,
We shared a slice of cheese pizza for $2.50.
its your new york style type pizza, all nice and thin, but then it has a thick crust at the end.
i thought the pizza was alright, but it got way worse reviews than i thought once i saw it on yelp. I was a little surprised. a lot of 1 star reviews. leaving there i thought it merited around 3, but now that i think about it more and more, maybe its a 2. i usually like to use a 3 to indicate that i would go there again, but i doubt i'll be back, unless it was out of convenience again.
its one of those places where you've had better, but still had worse.
it was thin crust of the most part, but then at the ends of the crust, way too thick, and yes, a little bland and dry. i guess now that you mention it, they could have put a little more sauce and cheese on it, it would have made it a little better. but the pizza was thin with its own unique crunch when you bite.
the pizza wasn't THAT bad, since we ate it there, the guy just took the slice, reheated it in the oven, but i def had better. would i come back? probably not. the cheese didn't even stretch. i have to have my ny style pizza cheese stretch!!!
DEFINITELY NOT ARINELL'S NY STYLE PIZZA. -

Service was bad. We ordered a $4.25 garlic bread and it turned out to be a mini, thin crusted cheese pizza. Then we got a medium, 14" combo pizza that was only alright. The total came out to be $30 with an Orangina also. Not worth it with the service. Next!

An OK slice of pizza at an OK $3 price. Nothing special, it had been sitting in the warmer for a while.
The service is what prompts the yelp, and the deduction of one star. Or shall I say lack of service. The guy working the counter didn't say a word to me the whole time.
It was awkward. Really awkward. -

I'm surprised to see bad reviews of this place. We were loyal Pizza Orgasmica girls for a long time, but ended up trying Gino's after they left a coupon thingee on our door. Pizza was fantastic, and reasonably priced. The next time we ordered, I wasn't home and the broad fell asleep before they could get to the house, so the poor guy was out there ringing the bell and calling for a half hour before he gave up. We called the next day and apologized, and while they probably hate us they were super cool about it.
Great pizza, cool people. -

Very short, but very sweet.
Actually some of the better pizza in the city. However, only the pizza itself is good. I wouldn't get any of the other items on the menu however.
They are about the only thing in the Wharf open until midnight. -

Well all I could since is this place isn't really that bad but at the same time also not that great. It's pretty chill to come through here after going out and getting hella drunk though. I mean there open pretty late but their prices for slice are pretty wack. It was about $3-$4 for a slice. The slices weren't like super big or anything special about them so I thought the price was a bit much. So I would only reccomend this place if your really in desperate need for food to sober up and have to other options avaialable. So yeah I guess I can give it 2 stars for going there when I was drunk.

I looked for local delivery spots on Grub Hub. Gino's came up. The menu looked tasty enough, and I was too lazy to leave the apartment I was in at the time. I called them up and proceeded to order. The person on the phone did not have even a small command of the English language, so that made ordering a little difficult, but I wanted lasagna and nothing was going to stop me.
After placing my order I started reading them off my credit card, I noticed that the expiration month was august of 09, being august of 09, I thought it may not work, so I asked the lady on the phone to run it while I was still on the line and if it didn't work I would give her another card. She didn't really understand my request, and told her she would have to ask her manager if she could run the card now, and put me on hold. When she returned she told me the card worked, but that they could not deliver to me as I was too far away. I was shocked as I gave her my address at the beginning of the order and she was telling me now, AFTER I had attempted to pay and wasted 5 minutes of being lazy on the couch to talk to her. I told her to have their listing on Grub hub fixed to reflect their true delivery area. She asked me what grub hub was and then said ok before I could respond.
This was obviously the kind of person who should be answering the phone at any business. EPIC FAIL!!! Not to worry I got my lasagna from another place, and it was yummy. BOOOOOOOOOO Gino's -
Review from dan a.
decided to give this place a try because i wanted a calzone delivered, and it's only 10 blocks from my apartment. long story short, i had to call the place ONE HOUR after placing my order to find out what had happened. turns out that the guy answering the phone IS THE DELIVERY GUY! HE TELLS ME THIS! he also tells me that they had just started my order 20 minutes ago (for you math whizzes, that's 40 MINUTES AFTER I ORDERED!).
it doesn't end there. I ordered a LARGE calzone. I consider myself a person who can eat more than the average person, but c'mon... i ate ALL BUT ONE SLICE in one sitting! that's a large? the best part is that it was lukewarm by the time it traveled 10 blocks to my apartment.
if i could give less than one star i would. don't order, don't go to, don't patron gino's. -

Yeah, kinda gross. It's not the worst pizza I've had in San Francisco, but I've had much better. I give them props for delivering all the way to my flat, but that's about it.

Basically tried this place out of force. It was Thanksgiving, and apparently I didn't remember to restock enough food for two the day before....so when hunger struck the bf he HAD to have pizza. After about an hr of driving around we went here. Pizza was ok. Service decent. Eh...nothing special

I love these guys! Delicious, cheap pizza and fast delivery. The guy who takes their phone orders has really grown on me. English is clearly not his first language, and it used to take me longer to give him my address than it did to place my order. I mean come on, how many times do I have to spell Clay Street? C-L...no, C...C...yeah, L...But after a while I just kinda started going with it. Now I actually enjoy this little ritual. Makes me feel like I've earned my pizza. Give them a shot.

Pizza left a great deal to be desired. Thick crust with measly toppings. The Ceasar salad was bathed in watery dressing and the chicken was saltier than brine. This was quite possibly the most weak-d*ck place I've ever ordered food from.

Briefly, these guys have been littering my apartment building with their menus for years. Interestingly, while they were able to break into the building to leave their menus all over all hallways, they were unable to operate the callbox to deliver my pizza when I finally got around to giving them a shot. Typical for San Francisco, the pizza was totally mediocre and without any overwhelming merit of any kind. Dough. Sauce. Cheese. Heat. Yawn. I wouldn't bother to write a review just to slag a place, but they have been so disrespectful with their menu littering that it bears mentioning on Yelp! If complaints to their store go unheeded, perhaps the dressing down of their pizza on Yelp! will.

After just having gotten over being sick and finally getting my appetite back, I thought I'd go for some Italian. A friend of mine had ordered from Gino's earlier in the week, and it looked, and smelled, pretty good.
However, I never got the chance to try their food.
I started ordering on GrubHub, when I noticed they served Snapple. So I called to find out what flavors they had. Oh my god. It took me like 5 tries to get what I wanted across. The first time I called, the guy actually hung up on me! The second time he finally understood and took my order, but then had such a hard time understanding where I live. I was very patient and spelled out my streets several times, giving clear directions on how to get to my place. But NO! He just could not understand! After finally asking someone else, he laughed at me and said that they didn't deliver to my address because it was too far away. Well, GrubHub says otherwise, thank you very much!
Anyway, I decided not to order from them after reading the other Yelp reviews. I've given them 2 stars, instead of 1, because I've never actually had their food.

It's amazing that a place like this can stay in business long enough for this many people to review it. I ordered the Mexican pizza, which was supposed to have tomato, jalapeno, beef, and onion. Each slice exactly one paper-thin slice of tomato, one puny bit of jalapeno, a chunk of beef smaller than a booger, and some thin slices of onion. In addition, the sauce and cheese was barely perceptible. And the crust didn't even taste like pizza crust, instead it just tasted like mediocre bread.
I also ordered a chicken pesto sandwich. This was not as outrageously bad as the pizza, but still probably the worst chicken pesto sandwich I have ever eaten. In sum, this place is crap. Never, never eat here. -

Where to begin? I ordered a pizza and some wings. I selected the more expensive wings as the on-line menu indicated they came with both hot and bleu cheese/ranch dipping sauce. OK; now I'm in for $27 for a medium pizza and some wings. Two hours and ten minutes (that's TWO HOURS and 10 minutes) later, the order arrives. I tip the driver and accept my order. Obviously I should have checked it first. Upon ripping the delivery sacks open in a feeding frenzy I discovered a tin of absolutely cold wings sitting in congealed grease; totally devoid of any sauces whatsoever; either dipping or on the wings themselves. OK. So now it was on to the pizza. Perhaps I could eat some while it was hot. hahahahahahaha - the pizza was, while not cold, barely above room temperature. Now I am pissed. I call the joint, not the best way to communicate when we are both speaking different languages. The person answering the phone tells me, when I complain of the lack of sauce and cold food, the driver got stuck on the bridge - for 2 hours. In my most pleasant manner, I call bullshit on that line and ask what they intend to do about it. The guy tells me he will cancel the order. As I paid with a credit card, I understood he would remove the charge. I would have been happy with a credit of part of the money, or a coupon for a discount the next time. The next day, I find the entire $27 on my credit card. I call to complain and this time no one speaks English. I request a manager, and am told there is none available. I feel twenty-seven bucks is pretty cheap to learn a lesson, and I have learned it well. I would eat bark off a tree before I'd ever order from Gino's again, and I'll be sure to pass along my exp-erience to everyone I can. In fact, after lurking here for a year I was compelled to join Yelp for the express purpose of writing this review. I am very disappointed that other Yelpers have had good experiences with Gino's. Reviews were one of the reasons I decided to try them after years of being a Mr Pizzaman fan. Needless to say, I am back with Mr Pizzaman. After this review I will order my usual from the guys who actually deliver hot food.

I will NEVER order from this place again. My boyfriend and I are big wing fans and every so often we get a craving. We had tried Gino's wings before and their red sauce wings are pretty decent but the "Gino wings" are absolute shit. Low and behold we get our order delivered, go upstairs, and we have the disgusting herbal crap wings that are about 3/4 the size of my pinky. I called back to have them send the correct wings. I'm in customer service so I know what it's like to deal with a crazed angry clients so I was 100% nice. The dude was just annoyed and trying to rush me off the phone and even tried arguing with me. I called back right after I hung up because I forgot to confirm he was sending the sauced wings and he asked for my address and phone #....um WHAT?! He didn't even have my information even though I had JUST ordered from him. So basically he would have just said screw it and we would have ended up waiting all night for our wings! RUDE.
This place sucks so don't waste your time. Also, the staff's English is awful and its a major struggle to place an order over the phone.
