Great pub food, friendly staff - this is a home away from home for Manchester United fans, as evidenced by the "Manchester United Fans of Chicago" flag and "Sir Matt Bubsy Way" sign on the back wall. Go You Reds!
Manager Siobhan, and barkeeps Shiela and Ritchie are great! If you're looking for a place to spend a quiet afternoon hour with a good pint, or if you want to cheer your favorite team - even for games starting at 6am!!! - Ginger's is the place to be!
I used to really like this place.... always a good time and the staff was always friendly and and now it's shite.
The food here is not very good either...I mean, the grilled cheese was edible but there is far better in this city. The Irish breakfast is sub-par (and they are an "Irish" bar) and the fries are always 100 percent soggy. ick.
I think they got new management or something because none of the staff is the same.... which is evident considering this place is dead.
There are a ton of other "soccer" bars in Chicago and is this area to have a good time and a good pint at.
I say, pass.
Had dinner and a couple beers in here last week. The service was friendly, but very slow. The beer was good, they have strongbow on tap, which is kind of rare, and my girlfriend was happy about that. They also have Boddingtons on tap, which is delicious. The food was tasty, but slow to come out. Pigs in a blanket appetizer was delicious. Tater Tots were done perfectly. Waited forever for the waitress to being check. I'll be back when I've got time to kill or to watch soccer.
i like ginger's for the friendly waitstaff and football. i rarely eat here (unless my g/f and i are in at some ungodly hour on a sat. or sun. morning to watch her beloved chelsea), so i don't come for the food and can't really speak on it. i've never been disappointed with the servers....but i also always sit at the bar so maybe that's the difference. oh, i also live right across the street so it's very convenient. and we bring doughnuts in on the weekends so maybe that's why they're so nice to us. for all you complainers, BRING DOUGHNUTS!
I remember the day well. It was a warm and muggy day, June 14, 2006 and Germany was set to play Poland in the world cup. Since I am a bit of a Kraut, I put on my Dusseldorf t-shirt and biked down to Ginger's to support the best National team in the world.
I get there, sit down, order a beer and look around. The bar is teeming with Polish fans. Big, scary, construction-worker types. Yeah. I should have expected this. Chicago is, after all, a Polish town. I was in the minority. I should have acted accordingly. But I did not.
When Germany scored in the final half, I got my drunk ass out of my seat and clapped and whooped as loudly as I could muster. Silence. Good time to go pee. While pissing I decide the best thing for me to do is to slink outside and make my exit STAT before getting pummeled by some bitter hooligans.
The fact that I made it home unharmed warrants five stars.
Ginger's is a great place to watch a football match, enjoy a pint during the day, and get a fantastic Irish Breakfast. It's a bit dark and dank, but then again it's also its charm. The food is great and always bursting off the plate. The staff are absolute darlings with calling everyone "sweetie".
If you're going to show up for brunch, know there is a chance the place will be crazy busy with football fans. I bring my kids during the day but not where I'd take them after 4pm.
Prologue: every time I put a word in "quotes," that means it's a new word I am using about soccer or "football."
This is a great place to watch a "match" (still learning the lingo)...I've been here several times with one of my best friends to watch some serious "football" action. It is here that I decided that I had a crush on Pepe, Liverpool's "keeper."
Plenty of TVs for you to take in the "matches," all of which are shown on their website (so you can plan accordingly).
Food is OK, but then again, you come for the action, not for the food. Service is very friendly, quick with the refills, and if you're with a regular, you're in.
Have to admit, I have had a great time the few times my friend has dragged me in. And yes, I may have even cheered at a "gooooooaaaaalllll" or two.
Used to come here back in the day to watch Bengals games on Sunday.
The food is okay, but WAY overpriced for bar food. They don't have any good drink or food specials on Sundays which is the only day I was there. Plus, they always made us sit in the back room which smells like stale beer and is always FREEZING in the winter and HOT in the summer.
The service is slow and often non-existent. The servers seem nice, but there aren't ever enough of them.
Tried going here again one Sunday not too long ago and again was just extremely disappointed. No service and no one in the bar knew how to work the televisions. Also, they told us they had the Bengals game, but after ordering pricey beers, found out they did not.
Will never go here again.
I know what a shot of liquor looks like, and by golly, at Ginger's Ale House they must be used to pouring for midgets, children, or thumbelina, cause they sure are cheap-ass when it comes to getting glass of booze. This is the home of the stingiest pouring bartenderess in Chicago. Using a thimble as a measure, there is no way in hell you will ever get a fair sized drink here.
Customer: "Can I get a Full shot, please?"
BarWench: "Tis a shot. I dun knowhere yew bin drinkin b'tis a right fair shot !"
Customer: "Is this the kids sippy cup shot?"
BarWench: "I am a bartenderrr I I know dats a shot. Go buy yerslf a bottle iffn you don like it!"
Shite!
Surprised to see so many iffy reviews of this place!
I have been here about a dozen times to watch soccer games and even though it's packed to the rafters with other soccer enthusiasts, they somehow manage to serve us quickly. I think they do a fantastic job hustling out your drinks and food.
Heck, I just called down there to ask about the schedule of games they were showing tonight and she was helpful and polite on the phone despite their being a raucous crowd in the background!
This bar if one of, if not THE most renowned soccer pub in the USA, so you'd be a fool not to catch a game there.

Met up with my girl here when she was out with her friends for one of their birthdays.
Service was a little on the slow side to begin with, but got progressively better throughout the night.
The birthday girl wanted some shots, so they made up a couple good ones: called the Dirty Girlscout and the Easy Girlscout respectively.
I have to say, they are BOTH worth trying.
The server was VERY appreciative of our tip at the end of the night, which goes a long way.
Haven't tried their food yet, but I'll definitely be back, and I'll update on the food once I've tried it.
Ginger's is a great place to go and have a beer...or a pumpkin martini, if you ask nicely. The staff is great and quick even on Superbowl Sunday! The food is decent, serving your average bar fare and even something for our friends across the pond with bangers & mash.
I love that you can go to Ginger's dressed for an evening out, or you can come from the gym and no one looks at you twice. Ladies, don't feel like you're going to come here and get picked up. Most people mind their own and those who don't are just looking for good conversation.
Definitely a laid back corner bar.

I did not come here to watch any sport, but just to drink. It is a pub after all and I'm all about the pubs. It is definitely a neighborhood bar. Lots of wood, memorabilia, dim lighting, and old worn, wood seating that add to the ambiance of a good pub. This place seems like it has its regulars, and they live within a few block radius. It doesn't seem like the type of place where you would find a whole lot of the post-grad, Wrigley/LP beer-bong frat crowd hanging out. It is laid back, and I have a feeling that the bartenders would end up knowing your name, and your drink if you stopped by a few times. The bartenders are friendly, and know how to mix drinks. There is a great selection of beers on tap as well.
I was entertained by 2 drunk Irish lads during my visit here. One who jumped on the bar and danced a jig for dollars in his drawers, and the other who looked like he would fall flat on his face at any moment, but still seemed to have enough libido left in him to float from group to group hoping for a friend. The bartenders didn't seem to mind the dollar dancer so I figured he was probably a regular.
I can see myself hanging out here again. It is a pretty big place, and they also have a veggie burger on the menu. Got to love 'em for that alone!! They do have enough teles for all the sports fans out there.
I did walk the blocks from Irving Park and Damen over to here. I nearly had a jolting experience when all of the TV sets in the venue were tuned to something called the world series, but featuring only clubs from Philadelphia and Tampa. The place was sparsely attended for a Thursday night. The sporadic rain was probably the reason. (But I missed the raindrops.)
Thankfully, our bartender put a couple of the TV sets on a channel with soccer.
I wound up having its beer special: A Leinenkugel's Brown Ale for $4 [16 oz.]. This was a nice, clean [i.e.: no diacetyl ~ diacetyl is an allowed off-flavor in the brown ale style] beer. It is a good session beer.

I've been to Ginger's several times for their pub quiz that they have at 7pm on Sunday nights! Now... think you're a smarty? Try this one out for size. I'm usually decent at trivial pursuit type games so I figured I could do pretty good... ummm.. no. I left here feeling like I was the dumbest person in the room. And I keep going back for more.
Here's how it works:
They play in the waaaay back bar. There's the bar you enter... then another bar behind that... and then yet another bar beyond that. The door's usually closed up until quiz time, so be patient.
You play in teams of 3-4 people and make up your own team name. The funnier, the better... Richard reads the stats after every round and calls the names out. If you are clever and can make him laugh, he might give you bonus points. BYO friends for the most part. There are usually about 6 teams total.
This is a good old-fashioned quiz. The host, Richard Burns, is a older retired gentleman and makes up the questions himself. He hands out pencils and an answer sheet and usually throws in a photo round (my specialty). If you get on his email list, he'll send you the questions ahead of time (maybe a day or two before) but you really don't have a lot to go on so it's hard to study for it, if you're so inclined.
Sample topics:
1. Mythology
2. El Papa
3. Match Round Two
4. 1998
5 Name That Tune
6. Pics
7. General Knowledge Doubled
You work out the answers as a team and at the end of each round, you turn in your papers and he grades them by hand. =) There are prizes to be had... mostly bar-type stuff like hats, t-shirts, bottle openers, etc... and the last place team gets a free pitcher of beer. Yes... Yes... We've won several of these... and we were really trying to win!!
This is also a fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and sometimes other charities... I'm pretty sure the recommended donation is $3? So it won't break the bank. Plus, you carry your $$ up and put it in the pail, so no one's counting... but don't be a chump.
(note: Richard hurt his foot, so there's no pub quiz for the next couple of weeks.)
Gingers is great! dig this joint! good food as well! got some burger there, wish I could remember what it was,..had like pineapple, fried egg and beets on it,..shit sounds gross at first but was fuckin' bad ass! (didn't eat the beets, beets taste like dirt to me,don't know how old ladys eat that crap) rock out some curry fries or dip that shit in some HP or Chef Sauce,so good! oh,.. might wanna say "well done" on the fries(chips), was a tad soggy
totally gunna stop back for the Traditional Irish Breakfast!
Oh Ginger's ... you tout yourself as being the "#1 Soccer Bar in the USA for 2003, 2004 & 2005" ... but yet the month of the World Cup, you act as if it was news to you that scores of futbol fans would flock here to watch the matches.
We were here on Saturday afternoon to watch the USA/Italy game. One of the waitress (tall, blonde) was literally shoving people out of the way ... including our friend's 50+ year old mother, who was simply standing there against the wall. The other waitresses didn't stand a chance. Really now ... 3-4 waitresses for an entire bar (& we're talking it's a lot bigger than it looks ... there's 3 or so large rooms to run around & a zillion men wanting their beer with their soccer)??? That's insane.
We got there at 1:00. We finally got a booth at 1:30. Fine. That's to be expected. The table was never cleared nor cleaned. It was also tipsy - leading to an unfortunate spilling of coke, beer, & water all over me.
I hadn't eaten yet, thinking (silly me) that I would grab some grub at the pub. At 2:00 we finally got a waitress to take our order - food & drinks. The soccer match began then. It wasn't until during halftime (an hour later, at 3:00) that our food came. Adding insult to my starving gut, one of our items was forgotten altogether. The salad was nothing at all special, just a couple of tomatoes, some shredded carrots, & cucumbers on a plate of lettuce. The stuffed mushrooms, however, were very tasty.
However ... I did not receive any drinks. THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE. Literally - no water, no soda, nothing.
It was over 90 degrees outside, even warmer inside with the sweat & stink of many men sans deodorant, & the waitress forgot to bring me my water/soda.
At 3:30, I finally caught our waitress's eye long enough to ask her for our check. It wasn't until the end of the match altogether that I could finally leave.
I give two stars 1) because the stuffed mushrooms were tasty & 2) because i understand it's the World Cup & it's busy & there are a zillion boisterous men clamouring for their beers, but ... COME ON ... this happens once every 4 years ... prepare for it next time, will ya?
"Kiss My Irish Arse." My, sentiments exactly.
Alas, the music leaves something (everything) to be desired, but you gotta do what you gotta do, and it's dictated by the clientle.
Great food, great staff.
Get the curry with your fries, it's the business.
Ginger's Ale House, I have totally forgotten about you!
I like Ginger's best on a Sunday afternoon when you can kick back with a Strongbow cider and watch futball or rugby. The menu is ok, but I don't really go there for the food. I also like the dark "Irish pub" type of atmosphere.
I like their large booths.
I like their bountiful plates of food.
I like their GINORMOUS Magner's. (Have I mentioned yet my affinity for good cider?) They will even bring it to you with a large glass of ice which makes me feel less like a drunk and more like I am just simply drinking apple juice. Oh, bless their wee hearts.
Seems like there are a lot of shite bars around there; Ginger's is not one of them. I will say though I usually am there in the afternoon, early evening; I find that is the best time to start to get my drink on. Service has always been ample at these times of day and once we even got free Jameson from the promotional people.
If I find myself in that area I will stroll on over there as I find them to be consistently good and pleasant. In fact, last time I was at Wrigley I walked almost a mile to get away from that "scene" and go to Ginger's instead.
This was my gang's fave in our 'old hood.' Quintessentially Celtic (not like the so-called authentic Irish pubs in Wrigleyville), this place caters to a lot of locals, and is known to open at odd hours for football (that's soccer to you Yanks) tournaments. The dingy and dark interior is also what makes the bar appealing (at least to me), and there's outdoor seating available for when you feel like tipping back a Guinness in the summertime breeze.
The food is pretty decent and worth a dinner stop that involves a few pints of beer, though I'm still trying to figure out why curry is served in this joint (my friend said it was good, if that's any help). The beer selection is quite good and contains the typical drafts that you'd find in Galway Bay.
The crown jewel of this joint is what's on the tables: BROWN SAUCE. Anyone who's been to the isles will gladly reminisce of this awful-tasting UK staple condiment. Getting one of your friends to try to drink this stuff will provide plenty of entertainment and fodder for years to come. I guarantee it. :)
I have heard great things about this bar from my friend. When I went to meet him there, I was passionately disappointed with the service. Each time I ordered a drink I had to wait at least five minutes. I paid $7.50 for a Jack and coke, and I could barely taste the whiskey. I asked for another shot in my drink, and the bartender thought I was trying to buy her a shot, and charged me $15 for two shots...one for me, one for her, and barely one for my weak drink. Not to mention the $5 I spent on the juke box of which I didn't hear a single song that I played.
I went there expecting to have a great night for under $50, but ended up being sober enough to drive home for over $70.... Gingers Ale House on a Saturday night is not worth the trip.
This is a bonafide pub, stocked with what seems like the right people. I don't know much about it as far as why the patrons favor it over the next authentic pub, though I'm sure there are reasons..
I went here for their Thursday night trivia, which is quite worth the trip... You play in small groups (4 or 5 people?) and compete with the rest... The questions are pretty oddball and varied, so if you're not an early 80s movie buff no fear there are plenty of topics. Sometimes the correct answers are not what you might expect due to some odd technicality, or the clues were just bizarre to start with. Sample question I was embarrassed we missed, probably because the clue threw us off so far...: "This is America's largest home, comprised of over XX bedrooms and this and that"... OK fine, I could probably guess based off of that, but then came a clue "hint, think Ted Turner..." ... The connection to Ted Turner is CNN, which then connects to Anderson Cooper, which then connects the Vanderbilt's to the Biltmore Estate... hmm. yah. I was better off before the clue. :]
I don't drink beer, but overheard someone trying to order beers, they were out of her first three choices on the menu..
About 4-5 times a year I find myself at Ginger's on a Saturday morning for some breakfast and footie. This day (03/01/08) I met up with three other friends as we get together annually to pick our Cubs tickets (choosing the games we want out of the full-season package).
As an aficionado of "The Beautiful Game" there's probably not many places better to watch the matches, have breakfast and a pint than Ginger's.
Full Irish/English breakfasts are available along with a decent menu. On this day I had the Eggs Benedict with a side of corned beef hash. The has was good, although, definitely institutional in nature. The eggs benedict was good as well, although it seems a bit loose, but still fit the bill.
I also love this place as it carries HP sauce. I love/obsess that stuff and have been known to pack my suitcase with 4-6 bottles upon my return from Merry Ole when I'm there for business.
Now that it's non-smoking, I find it even more attractive than I did before, however, even with smoke, I never minded it much given what I was there for.
For you footie fans, it's mostly dominated by the Arsenal and ManUre faithful, although there's a smattering of Villa scum as well. I've been here on FA Cup matchdays where it's literally heaving from wall to wall and have been there on days where Bollocks FC is playing AFC Wanker and no matter what the staff is friendly and polite. I can see how the Irish/English demeanor could be a put-off for some, but frankly those fine ladies are usually dealing with boys with their heads up watching the tube all morning. I can't blame them.
I love coming to Ginger's in the morning (sometimes the very early morning) to watch a match. The breakfast is pretty typical - I always get two eggs, potatoes, toast & bacon, which is like three breakfasts for me. The servers are quick to refill your coffee (or bring more hot water for tea). On days with top of the table matches, it's packed - so if you don't get there early, you're stuck with a view of one of the older, crappier TVs. It's also quite chilly in Ginger's, so layer up (or just plan to constantly be sucking down hot coffee).
I had my birthday party here last April and the customer service here, the food, and ESPECIALLY the Guinness here is top notch. I love this place and wish I go here more often.
Outside of Ireland, Southside Chicago, and the Irish American Heritage Center this is THE place to get a pint of Guinness. I lived in Ireland for a year and am totally spoiled on the black stuff. So go here if you want a great pint.
Their food is good enough and service was prompt but not overbearing. Good pub grub.
If you want a taste of real Ireland, go here. Its the real deal, like the last reviewer said.
This is hard to do but I must. Ginger's after all is named the best place to watch footie. I am not sure who exactly was polled and what the criterion was but they must have gone on days/nights that I was absent.
While there's no arguing Gingers does dedicate itself to deliverying as much football as one can watch, there is (this may be past tense, I haven't returned in a while) a strong bias to the English Premier League. They play this game world over, if you are going to lay the claim as King you damn better show footie from the World over. Funny thing is all I wanted was Primera Liga or even the Serie A. Understanding that one must accommodate the largest client base I elected to find another pub that could deliver not just the EPL but other leagues.
The service you ask? Well how hard can it possibly be to refill my beer? Apparently this feat, which other bartenders seem to have mastered is one that cannot be accomplished without a second or third request. Service -when you get it- is slow and seemingly provided be-grudgingly.
Problem is I will probably return to Ginger's because they do afterall show footie but unless you need to watch a match this bad Ginger's offers little reason to go.
Most of my memories from ginger's are slightly hazy, but I remember enough to recommend it. I've spent many nights drinking pints and watching the cubs (if your a soccer fan there's almost always a match on as well).
This may no longer be the case, as I haven't been brave enough to order them again, but I once asked for their hottest buffalo wings and left with two functioning taste buds. If you like 'em hot ginger's may be your place.
Fast fact: We used to LOVE Ginger's. We'd come every Friday for their amazing burgers and perfect steak fries. We didn't mind the poor service or lack of good drink specials because we were there for the food. But a few months ago, something changed. I think they got a new cook. We went and ordered our usual burger and fries, and it was all wrong. Sad, thin "1/2 pound" (not even close) burger and some sort of curly-ish (I think) fries. We were so sad. Ginger's left us heartbroken. Now we go to the Globe to satisfy our cravings. Too bad the service there sucks too.
Vinyl-covered seats and menus, condiments (including malt vinegar) jumbled together on the tables, smoky haze and the feeling that a layer of grime/dust covers the non-eating surfaces make this bar an instant favorite for this Wisconsin born and raised girl. Ginger's Ale House reminds me of the Friday nights I spent with my parents in equally grungy bars for their fish fries (local places where the cook fished all day for that night's fry).
Of course, I had fish and chips--not bad--served with peas, coleslaw and fries; the batter was very crunchy and kept the mild cod juicy and firm. The burger is decently sized and tasty too. The steak fries were a little underdone. Other menu items include Shepherd's pie, lamb stew, Irish bacon BLT and chicken curry.
The beer list is considerably better than a lot of other Wrigleyville/Lakeview places and includes a lot of drafts.
The service was uninspired, but the place was a little busy, with what seemed to be a lot of locals/regulars.
Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the bathroom so I have no opinion on that side of the operation.
I will definitely be going back and can't wait for warm weather and their sidewalk patio. Also of note are the soccer games shown here; with the World Cup happening in June, this may be just the place to find yourself some sunny afternoon.
Oh my dark and dreary Ginger's Ale. This used to be one of my karaoke headquarters on Tuesday nights if I recall correctly. No special here on the drinks, unless of course you're into beer (not my cup of tea or beer for that matter).
Coming here on a Sunday evening I realized just how dark this place is. Now I know people come to bars to smooze and maybe even find someone to "love" that night, but does Gin. Ale have to cater to the low-lighting visual effects that add to some people's attraction? Come on, throw a few candles on the table! I had gone to meet a friend for dinner and was practically squinting when looking at the menu.
Other than lighting, the food is ok. I ordered a veggie burger, a monstorous sandwich that fed me for two days! Get the crispy seasoned potatoe wedges that come with it. This is the second time I've had it here and I have not been disappointed yet.
Ginger's Ale has brought me and my friends plenty of good times. The people are friendly, drinks are quick and the food will hit that bar fare craving!
I was welcomed into Ginger's on a cold Thursday night by a friendly bartender who's flurry of "honey's" and "sweetie's" made me feel like I was actually at a friend's house. The steak salad I ordered hit the spot perfectly and was a great value at $9! When the beer I wanted was out of stock, the bartender was more than happy to open a fresh bottle of wine for me. Thanks for providing such a pleasant couple of hours.
Perfect place for a Full Irish (hold the puddings, please), a few pints and a few hours of the premiership on a hungover Saturday morning. I've very fond memories of this place.
Also, if you're a Liverpool supporter, you'll fit right in.
Ginger's gets three stars because it's okay. It's literally just okay, neither good nor bad. It's fine. I think maybe I like bars that are a bit hipper, because I've been told I'm a hipster and I'm sure my bar preference contributes to that. Ginger's claims to be America's #1 bar for soccer. Kind of a disconnect, no?
The drinks are pretty good, and the waitress there was really helpful for deciding what to drink. I felt pretty lame, but sometimes I want to get out of my tiny tiny whiskey sour box, and I get very nervous and don't know what to order if it's not a whiskey sour. The drinks lean towards expensive, but as I recall they're also huge. The bar itself is rather large, and seemed it when I was there but I've been by it when games (soccer or otherwise) are going on and it definitely crowds up. I'd probably try to find something a bit more low key if I wanted to drink and actually be able to see the game, comfortably.
I wouldn't go back, but judging from other reviews I think I must have just missed my interests. I have heard only good things about the food.
One of the perks of having a relatively flexible work schedule is that I can be at places like Ginger's Ale House on a random summer weekday afternoon to meet up with some drunken Serbian soccer-loving friends. Well... I consider it a perk anyway. Although I am not a big soccer fan, I am a big sports fan so I spent some time here last summer for the World Cup and I was here recently for the Champions League final. The Champions League final game is sort of like the Super Bowl of Europe, minus the scoring, the fabulous commercials, and the potential nip slips.
Ginger's bills itself as the nation's number one soccer bar, and not really being a fan of the "beautiful game" myself, I don't really know enough to dispute this claim. I do know that on afternoons where there is a big match it is standing room only with people that are ready to push their own mother over if it meant their team scored a goal. It does make for an interesting time. Consider watching a soccer game on your couch at home. A ball is shot that is about 10 feet off target, causing you to slightly look up from the Tribune sports section as you read about who the Cubs 4th starter will be. Well at Ginger's Ale House this same ball inspires people to yell, scream, clap, hit the table, and shout in languages that I do not understand. And if somebody actually scores... things really get nutso.
I went here for a bunch of the world cup games last summer and it got really crowded. One such time we were here for the US-Italy game and were the last people allowed in 30 minutes before the game started. I do agree with a previous poster that commented on how overwhelmed, rude, and totally unprepared the staff appeared to be that day. Our waitress in particular shoved me out of the way, didn't take our orders, and in general was a huge bitch. But I let it slide because it was packed and about 100 degrees.
There are a lot of things I don't get. I don't get spending $300 on a pair of shoes. I don't get dressing up dogs. And I don't get soccer. However, if there is a place to attempt to get soccer or at least observe people that get it then Ginger's Ale House is the place in Chicago.
I really like the fact that this place is a soccer bar. It is a nice change of pace from the regular cubs/sox/bears places.
The downside is that I heard the service is pretty bad and this was especially true when we were there. Expect to have to track down your waitress for anything you want in a decent amount of time.
Other than that, the place is a very typical irish pub. Nothing that much new here.
Gingers Ale House is a great place to go for a laid back evening. Very Celtic/Irish. The side of the bar you walk into is darker, louder and generally more crowded. But the other side of the bar has several booths set up and is more chill (with a pool table). They have "Beers of the Month" specials, and a great selection! Anyone who knows and likes Strongbow can find it here!
There is also a pretty decent menu there, although I have never eaten there.
There's also a party room that you can rent out.
Step into Ginger's Ale House and you leave the US. Everyone in the place has an Irish accent. How great is that?! The food is good and the servers are friendly. Wear jeans and a sweatshirt....this is not a fancy place.
I'm not a soccer fan, but I do love burgers and fries. The service is incredibly friendly - has a great neighborhood bar feel. I return for some good bar food and moderately priced drinks. Never too busy or over-crowded.
