5 reviews for Gil's Barber Shop
Great prices, great cuts
They even have a LCD TV to watch while you get your haircut. I drive ~15 minutes (past a bunch of other barbers/chain haircut places) to get my $10 haircut at Gil's. I've noticed as the economy slowed down, fewer people in general have been getting haircuts. $10+tip is a great deal vs the alternative of having a half-assed haircut by your friend or yourself (at least in my case).
Little did i know that a "Gil's Barber Shop" was located next to the Albertson's on Mason and Sherman Way...which is walking distance for me. One day i needed a haircut and i was too damn lazy to drive more than 150 feet...so i just settled for this place, and i'm glad i did!
I've already visited this barber shop three times for a haircut, and i was very pleased with the results after each visit. The barbers take their time and really listen to you and cut your hair however you want it.
Maybe that is why i was such a bad child in school back in the day...getting into fights...always being a smart ass to teachers....detention all the time...it's all because i never had a good haircut! and my barber never listened to me...he neglected me...and gave me horrible haircuts. but these guys LISTEN...and for just $10...they will give you the cut you want to look good while drinking at 3 Clubs or Little Rock ;-)
The barber shop is in a plaza between a chinese restaurant and some video store....and there's plenty of parking. They also have a television to watch while you get a haircut. They usually leave it on the F/X channel, which didn't bother me because they were showing Spider-Man 2 :-)
Bless your heart Gil...thanks for listening...i love you
I was in town for a wedding, staying a few blocks away. It's always risky to get your hair cut day-of, but I woke up early and checked Yelp before coming over. Haircut was quick, good, and cheap and the barber was friendly.
Best $10 cut around...
I always get my hair 'did' from Jessica... who happens to be the Grand Daughter of Gil....
She always takes her time and does a great job...
The new location is a bit smaller but the parking is much better.
Agreed with the yelper below me. I tried Gil's once and never looked for another barber. I always ask for Lee, and get the cut I want (plus he's hilarious). Been going for years.
