Their pizza is pretty damned good. Their regular pizza is what you'd expect out of a pizzeria. Always good and not greasy - even when reheated. What's really tasty is their square pie (called 'Grandma'). Nicely seasoned tomato sauce with mozzarella on top and some basil. It's not a thick crust like L&B's, but a thin crust. I'd take L&B over this, but L&B is in Marine Park and I live a couple of blocks from this place :)
I'm gonna give it 4/5 because 5 to me for a pizzeria would have to mean the best pizzeria ever! As for a contrast, I'd probably give your run-of-the-mill pizzerias like a 2. So, in my book a 4/5 is just about as good as it gets.
Assholes, this isn't midtown! $2.50 for a slice of plain cheese pizza is a crime against humanity. Call the people at the Hague, because a slice of pepperoni will set you back $3.25. I don't wear black socks & sandals, nor do I wear my camera strapped around my neck. I live around the corner, is there a non-tourist price? This is decent, regular, average, run of the mill floppy slices. This isn't DiFara's where their ingredients come from italy - all this shit comes from cans!
I'm calling Marty Markowitz, bec. these facist, socialist, greedy, fat cat capitalist pigs need to be stopped before we need a bailout to get a sausage roll.
and they're rude.
Eh. Edible but definitely nothing special. Whoever gives a crappy corner slice joint 5 stars either owns the place or is bangin' the owners.
Really delicious pizza and really friendly guys.
This is my local pizza place and they are pretty damn good. Several others deliver to me but this is the "go-to" place. Aside from the normal slices they also have some really good special slices that are worth trying out. Definitely worth checking out when you are in the neighborhood.
While a slice of pizza can be a sad affair, it's never disappointing at Giardini's! From the basic cheese to the plump-ly topped veggie slice, this old school Smith Street nook is great to duck into on a brutal winter's eve or lounge outside on a sunny summer afternoon.
Best takeout and delivery pizza in Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill. Fast, friendly and the pizza is delicious! Highly recommended.
Excellent pizza. Great selection of veggie toppings! One of the many great Carroll Garden pizza places.
The pasta dishes are enormous and old school- quality is not as good as World Pie on the pasta, but does the trick for simple ziti and manicotti. Nice to eat outside on a nice day.
Sometimes it's amazing, sometimes it really sucks. Use discretion if you're getting pizza by the slice because it might not be that fresh. But they have some amazing specialty slice options and the Grandma pie is probably their best. They are really nice, though, and I happen to live around the corner, so even though I get the occasional clunker meal, I will continue to eat there often. Also, the New York Times wrote about them in 2005 and they are so adorably proud of it.
