My wife and I "discovered" Gianfranco a few months ago, and we are delighted to have such a wonderful Italian restaurant right in downtown Snoqualmie. This is as near authentic Italian as you'll find outside of big American city Italian neighborhoods, so if your definition of Italian is "Olive Garden" you will either be disappointed or awakened. We've been there over half a dozen times now and have never been disappointed.
The wine menu is spectacular - most wines are from Italy, with only 10 or so domestics. And the house specialty is their gorganzola sauce, which is amazing what one can do with a cream sauce.
The food comes in generous portions - not family style, just hearty portions. And they are generous with their meats, sauces, and cheese. Definitely not the place if you are counting calories.
Service is good enough, generally a little slow, but the food is always served at perfect temperature.
This place is pricey, but more than worth it. Very thankful this place is local to us!
It was an okay experience. The service was nice and attentive. The bread tasted a little dry and a touch stale. The food was hit or miss. We ordered a pasta with some kind of gorganzola sauce and veal saltimboca. The pasta was good, but for 13 dollars for a plate of pasta and sauce (no meat) something felt lacking. The veal saltimboca was incredibly disappointing especially at 20+ dollars. Four small paillards of veal, sad overcooked bit of veg, and a portion of scalloped potatoes. The only interesting part of the dish was the potatoes. It was bland and overly satly.
It was interesting to go there once, but I would not go there again for the price.
The food was pretty good. The service was decent. And it's a nice find in downtown Snoqualmie. I didn't like the price for the experience. My wife & I went for a dinner early on Friday evening . . . enjoyed a decent glass of wine with a quite acceptable Italian meal, but left saying that we probably wouldn't come back. From overhearing other dinners, this place is very favored by some -- worth a try.
Snoqualmie is not known for Italian food, but it should be, and it's because of Gianfranco's. This restaurant is fantastic - it reminds me of the small, family-run Italian restaurants in New York city, because it is small, family-run restaurant. On most days you will see the owner and his family working the restaurant. All of the staff there (family or not) are very friendly and helpful.
The food is of excellent quality. I would definitely recommend the Penne Gianfranco - this is the signature dish of the restaurant, and it is a simple, but extremely tasty combination of pasta and a light Gorgonzola creme sauce. I added chicken to this, and it was worth it. Desserts are very good as well.
It is a small restaurant, so space is a bit tight and reservations are a must.
It's worth the drive out to Snoqualmie to see the Falls, and definitely to dine at Gianfranco's!
One of my favorites for a good italian meal. The owner and his family are so wonderful and friendly. Anything with the gorgonzola sauce is a must have! Worth the drive to Snoqualmie.
Gianfranco's isn't that great. The food is completely covered in way too much cheese.
We went there on a Friday night and silly me, thinking because it was a little town like Snoqualmie, we wouldn't need a reservation. I was right of course but the hostess certainly acted like she was doing us some favor by getting us a table immediately (there were several open tables). All in all, the restaurant is charming but a quite small and crowded feeling (I would not suggest Gianfranco's if you are claustrophobic). Sebastiani's in Snoqualmie Ridge might not be as nice of a restaurant but the food is certainly just as good if not better and it won't cost you quite as much.
What a pleasant surprise. My husband and I while staying at the Salish Lodge decided to try this little place for our anniversary. We were very happy with our decision. The service was great. The bread and oil they serve beforehand was amazing, in fact if everything was drenched in that I would be happy. We both ordered the specials that night, a baked pasta and the chicken, we loved them! Too much food but we tried are darndest to eat it all. It was hard to put down our forks. I would so reccomend this place over either restaurant at the Salish Lodge- while it is a beautiful property to stay at Im not a fan of eating there.
Great Italian food, need I say more. This is a family run restaurant in downtown Snoqualmie. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The service is friendly and attentive. Most important is the awesome food. My favorite is the gorgonzola chicken incredible. If you can manage, get on the list for a Thursday night Wine dinner. Amazing.
Who would have thought you'd get good Italian in Snoqualmie? My parents took me here for an early dinner on my birthday this past May and the place exceeded all expectations. We had the place to ourselves at 4pm on a weekday and casually chatted with the wait staff who were both friendly and attentive. I noticed a ladder in the corner and wondered how long the place had been open? Clean and tastefully decorated as one would expect a small Italian place to be, I hope this place stays around for the food was excellent and the experience very enjoyable.
