I really enjoy the chicken and broccoli rabe pizza at this spot. My only gripe about the food would be that I'm not crazy about the crust, but it is tolerable.
As for the physical condition of the restaurant, it isn't that great, but I don't really care about that. The downstairs bathroom was kind of gross. This is a good place for takeout, not necessarily dine in.
Well, 5 stars goes to the place that's become our go to pizza shop in So. Philly. The pizza is potentially not as great as some other places, but it's still good and usually more affordable. $11 for a large (16") plain pie. The kicker remains the salad which is always fresh and tasty with those artichoke hearts, black, olives, etc. That's $7 and easily feeds two. This past week I tried the hot wings and their sauce is great. Again, this place is not fancy and trendy, but the 5 stars goes for affordable, consistently tasty take-out fare.

I have a friend that lives near this place and we thought we'd try out some local pizza when we we lacked the ambition of cooking or spending much. It was surprising that this location of Gianfraco's hadn't been Yelped yet. It's related to the south Philly and center city spot, hence making it a chain I guess.
Well, we just kept it simple, a very affordable $11.00 large plain pie.
The guys there were friendly and the pie took only about 6 or 7 minutes on a Saturday night. We had it to go, and found ourselves pleasantly surprised. The sauce "tomato gravy , yo" was very good and they didn't skimp as it seems to be the trend lately. Also the cheese itself was very good. Not a drip of oil or grease to be found after we devoured the whole pie between the two of us. Admittedly, we were finding ourselves quite hungry by the time we got to eat it but by the time we slowed down a bit with the last slices, we both agreed, this is very good pizza.
Thought I'd give them their due props, yo.
so good. and always super friendly on the phone. i used to order from the one in old city. but now im south philly living. so excited this is here!
