Not sure what all of the hate is about...

just a quick note: I do not own nor wear any affliction or Ed Hardy shirts or any other size youth large t-shirts with skulls and shiny gold stuff on them. I also own my car outright and use less hair product than my girlfriend. There... I said it.

I've been to Ghost Bar twice: Once maybe 6-7 years ago shortly after it opened and once on Friday night after a concert and both times I had a lot of fun. I love the view of the city and every staff member with whom I had contact was friendly and pleasant. I wish the dance floor was a little larger and the sound system was somewhat lo-fi for a club of that magnitude (I think the dance floor speaker was a JBL eon or something) but overall my experience was great and I would happily go again,

When I first moved to Dallas two years, I had gone to Ghostbar and had such an awesome time. Now it's filled with wannabes and like a previous poster said. Douche-y people. lol. Last time I had gone there, it was filled with a crowd that I didn't really care for hanging around or meeting. I should've just stuck to Uptown. Even my girlfriends who had recently given it a shot would say the type of guys that go there, you'll find out what they make and what they drive within the first 10 minutes of talking to them. Who cares?

I like to go on Thursdays.  It's free with 5 dollar stoli and 5 dollar beer the last time I was there.  And I've heard some good dj's spin there on thursdays including Felix the house cat.
Just ignore the vacuous dallas people.  I can make it work.  I like to go ocassionally.  But I never go on weekends.  That's probably best.

This place is FILLED with fake-douche-like people. I mean FILLED to the brim with those types. The music was "ok", and the drinks were way over priced. It's a good place to take photos in, but then BOUNCE. Good patio view. I can see the same view from my loft!!
I went again unfortunately a couple of weeks ago, only b/c I had people in from out of town that wanted to go. If you're fake......you'll...... "LOVES IT!!!!".........................."Errrrrrrrrrrrr-m y-GAWDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I have been to the one in Vegas and I hate to say it but I like this one better. Well, once we got inside it was better. I brought like 6 people with me and we were all on the VIP list. Once we told the door-lady our names she had us wait in a line for almost 30min. Once we got up there and inside it was really cool. The people were a lot nicer than the one in Vegas and the drinks are TONS cheaper here than there. I think this one is a tad bit bigger than the one in Vegas and the outside patio/bar is really cool. The only thing that makes the one in Vegas better is the view from the outdoor patio...you cant beat a great view of the Vegas strip.

All in all it was a great time...

Peace Out,
MZ

Ghostbar in Texas is located on top of the W Hotel. When you get there, there's a line in the lobby to get into the elevator to go up to the club. Everyone looks so classy and there's lots of eye candy. The view of Texas from the patio is absolutely amazing! The decor is lovely as well.

The cons are that it's overrated. I tend to use that word a lot because these clubs charge an arm and a leg for their drinks just because they think they can because of their attractive venue and the people they have coming in. So this place is overrated. The drinks cost way too much and the dj was sorry as hell. We tried to like the music, but after 45 minutes, we went to Propaganda instead haha Overall, Ghostbar is a good place to stop by, take some photo ops and then leave.

There's a large, discriminatory cover for males that only $30,000 millionaires pay. You have to buy an exorbitantly priced table to sit down. The entire establishment is based around a sort of manufactured exclusivity. The drinks are overpriced. And, you must wear pants. It's trying a little hard.

Been multiple times at night as well as for a meeting during the day when the bar was closed and it was just our company.

The drinks are over priced, the crowd is obnoxious, but the views are amazing as is the decor.  Go on an off night or find a way to host a business meeting there during the day.

You know... you might think I would rip this place apart considering I hate Victory Park and the vibe of the W crowd, but every time I've gone to Ghost Bar, I've had a really awesome time.

First of all, let's talk about the obvious stuff.  The Ghost Bar is sexy if by altitude alone.  It's the highest dance club in Dallas (probably in more ways than one) with a breathtaking view of downtown.  On the way up to the Ghost Bar it feels like you're about to get on a ride at Universal Studios with their chromed-out, flat-screen-adorned, mirrored elevator.  The dance floor is great and the music is always pumping.  If there is a place in Dallas to go and douche it out every now and then, it's definitely Ghost Bar.

Of course, that comes with a condition.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS call ahead and make a reservation for bottle service.  I cannot stress that enough.  If you're trying to go here to "hang out" I really question your ability to discern the difference between a good time and a really shitty time because I assure you -- your experience will be the latter.

I've been to Ghost Bar half a dozen times.  Each time I called and reserved a table with vodka bottle service.  Each time we were immediately escorted past the line of weirdos who think it's ok to wait in line for anything in Dallas and were whisked privately to the top of the W.

The difference between a place like Ghost Bar and a place like Lift Lounge (besides about 20 stories) is that Ghost Bar won't make you wait outside AFTER you've booked a table in advance while they self-importantly scan over their list, only to walk into an empty club.  Ghost Bar is always packed and they always get you up there ASAP if you reserve a table.

The level of service changes drastically when you get bottle service.  Suddenly the hostess at the bottom is chatting you up, the bouncer is inviting you in like you guys went to high school together and the waitress is practically sitting in your lap.  If only EVERY BAR IN DALLAS had this treatment for ALL customers ALL of the time.

In addition, the VIP managers will check on you every now and then and see if they can personally address anything extra you might need.  One time, in my single days, I was with an all male group.  The VIP host checked on us and asked if he could do anything to "heighten our enjoyment tonight."  One of my friends said, "Um, yeah -- some chicks would be nice."  The guy put his hands together in front of his pursed lips for a moment while he thought.  Then he grinned and said, "Just a moment."

Next thing we know we've got a bachelorette party with us.  They brought out a few extra seats and everything.  What did we do?  Well, we had to order another bottle of course -- and I tipped our guy well.

Smart, Ghost Bar.  Very smart.

If the weather is nice and not too hot, I recommend getting a table outside.  The music isn't as loud and you won't get bumped into by the standing (poorer) patrons.

jk, jk, it's not that they're poorer necessarily, but that they are obviously confused as to what the point of Ghost Bar is.  There are places in Dallas that are AS nice and won't completely shit on you if you don't get bottle service.  If you're here to meet chicks, I'll have you know that the majority of standing females that are at Ghost Bar aren't trying to meet a fellow standing male.

I guess the Ghost Bar needs your business too, but they certainly won't act like it.

I will never ruin my image of Ghost Bar by going casually.  They will get high praise from me as long as they continue to treat me like a celebrity when I show up.

Side note -- they claim to sell out of tables every week.  Bullshit.  I've called 15-30 minutes before showing up and gotten a table.  It's all about the ILLUSION of exclusivity!  Oooo ahhhh...

BOTTOM LINE:
The only place I will ever douche it out.  4 stars because to rate a place like this 5 stars would be against everything for which I stand.

I wouldn't drive to this place and have a drink then risk driving back so the only way I would ever go to this place again is if I actually lived right around the corner
Not worth it really
The bar tender was so difficult to loosen up but I am sure after a big line and a big line of snobby people I would have a stiff bad attitude as well
We go to the line to get inside and I as well as the person I was w/ both had very trendy outfits w/ heels and some bling but the beatchy chic w/ her stupid clipboard was like that will be $40 to get in the ghost bar ~ no thanks since I am a big cosmo ~ grey goose drinker I refuse to pay to get in when I pretty much pay a bill w/ my drink bill so your loss trust me
I would much rather go to Sullivan's on a Saturday then Ghostbar

The best part of this bar is the view of downtown Dallas. Outside on the balcony you can get away from the LOUD LOUD music. The loud music seems to be a problem at the W in general. My brother and I went to Craft for dinner which we do often. We were early and the hostess said our table would be ready soon so we went to the bar next to Craft and paid 18 bucks for Crown and Coke and a Rum and Coke.

After dinner we decided we would go up to Ghost Bar just to see what it was like. The range of people there was cool. It wasn't just skanks, but people of all ages. Most were dressed nice but I wish they had a dress code. Some people looked drabby. The bartenders were fine. If it was busy I think they would need at least two more. The drink were way overpriced. I expected that but it is till really stupid.

If you like to dance they do play good music although most of the people who were dancing are the same everywhere. White girls who are drunk and a few guys who were forced to because they want to get laid.

The place is well kept up and clean. They had people picking up empty glasses constantly. The bathroom has an attendant so bring ones if you piss easily when drinking.

The bartenders are there for eye candy as much as service. The girls boobs were about the fall out and the waitress ass cheeks were popping out. They were all very nice though.

This isn't a bad place, I would give it four stars except it is ripped off for drinks. Strip clubs are cheaper.

Getting in wasn't hard, but that just depends when you go. There was no cover when I went, but it is forty dollars if you go on the wrong night, or so I heard and read. Bottle service, no matter where you go is overpriced and dumb. Don't waste you time with it here.

It was about over half full when I went so it won't ever be too crowded.

Overrated.  Seriously.  You have to be on a list?  You have to be dressed a certain way?  Puh-lease.  When they let the guys in khakis in I knew my silver birks were not going to be a problem.

Even tho I didn't pay for the drinks, they were over-priced.  I had some sort of lemon drop martini or something.  It was horrid.  More like a snakebite with sugar.  Icky.

The music was excruciatingly loud.  Outside was pretty cool, but not worth the pretentious people and attitudes.

If you are into a loud place where you need to see and be seen, then Ghost Bar is for you.  I prefer to hang with my friends and not worry if I'm wearing the right thing to get to the bathroom without being glared at.

The good parts about this bar is the location.... wait.. I should say good "part".  Its on the 33rd floor over looking dallas with an outside balcony so it's a nice view.  Drinks are way over priced, like your in NYC or something.  This is Dallas, TX, it really shouldn't cost that much.  I think the place just tries too hard....  Imagine your girlfriend attempting to iron your clothes after you just got them from the dry cleaners.  This is that crazy girlfriend.  Shes hot... even hotter when shes helping you, but just lame.

Wow, I am amazed by all the hatin' on this place...

Anyway, I had a wonderful experience here. I'm not from Dallas and yes, I was there for business. My friend and I went on a Wednesday. Free for ladies and they didn't care about my jeans. Drinks were expensive but shouldn't you expect that already? If you talk to the bouncer, they're freakin' nice. Especially the guy that stands outside the elevators. I didn't experience any snobby-ness from anyone. The ladies who worked in short hoochie white dresses were friendly. They probably stopped by our table at least 6 times during the night to see if we wanted any more drinks. Pretty cool. Good service.

Also, the music wasn't all that great but the dance floor was filled. There were these 5 crazy, old professionals on the dance floor bustin some moves. I was laughing my head off.

Anyway, this place is a good time if you don't mind paying extra cash for drinks. The lounge area was comfortable and the view of the Dallas skyline is pretty effin sweet (if you're not from Dallas).

Coworker and I were in Dallas for the weekend between business trips and went to N9NE Steakhouse for dinner before Ghostbar. I have to say I checked the website and couldn't figure out how/why you needed to get on the guest list.

Anyways...at N9NE we asked our waitress for suggestions on where to go after for drinks and of course she mentioned Ghostbar (owned by the same group as N9NE) so she got one of the managers to personally escort us across the street, through the line, didn't have to pay cover, and up to the bar for a freek drink.

So far so good! I loved the view from the outside area, and the glass floor looking down to the street was pretty cool. Drinks didn't seem that expensive (then again, I live the NY Metro area so nothing can be more expensive than there!), I think we had 5-6 drinks for $40 plus tip, and the bartender we had was friendly and attentive.

Was getting more crowded by the time we left (midnight), but still room to move around. I liked the modern decor and edgy feel of the place. Didn't really notice much about the other patrons good or bad so no complaints.

I would go back if in Dallas again.

After dinner, I headed to Ghostbar with my friend.  It was a Tuesday night so I wasn't too suprised that the club was half empty.

It was really loud inside.  The music was at a level that would have been appropriate if the club was full.  When it's not, you can turn it down a notch.  Really.

The outside balcony was very cool.  I would have stayed out there all night but the cigar smoke was killing me.  I'm spoiled by the Chicago laws, what can I say?

I was also annoyed that I had to go outside my hotel to get inside even though there was an elevator bank.  What's up with that?

I had absolutely no business being in this place, looking back the only reason the doorman let me in the first place is because he most likely thought I was there to fix a  broken ice machine.

This is what I expect Hell to look like, a bunch of people standing around ignoring each other trying to be noticed. My God, do people really stand in line to be seen in this place?

After taking a mortgage out for a round of drinks, we sat down waiting for George Jetson to come in bitching about how he was stuck on the dog walk outside for an hour and a half. (Yes, I stole that from Family Guy)

This place wasn't for me at all, is it just me or does everyone have a look on their face like somebody farted. I do have to admit that the there were some pretty ladies out and about the Ghost Bar and the all looked like they lived by the motto "Throwing Up Keeps Me Skinny And Pretty" and stop acting like getting up and going to the bathroom every five minutes is normal! "This forty dollar Miller Lite I've been sipping on for eight hours is going right through me."

Then there's this thing called table service where you buy a bottle of booze for a few hundred bucks, all I have to say is FU, and there's a minimum of $300.00 bottles of booze you have to buy, double FU. Please tell me that there are not people in this world who think this is a sign of success? I'd love to be a fly on the wall when some cheese dog wakes up alone the next afternoon and realizes that he spent a grand on a few bottles of Grey Goose trying to impress Bulimic Barbie.

Tell you what gang, I've got a big back yard, I'll charge you only 5 bucks to come in and you can look on in disgust while I'll charge $6.00 for a beer as a record skips on my turntable. The end of the world is near

I greatly enjoyed my night at Ghostbar! On a work trip to Dallas, I met a bunch of fun, young girls at my training sessions. We decided that we should explore Texas and plan a fun night out. Luckily enough, one of my guy friends from college was living in Dallas. So he picked the four of us up from the Omni where we staying and the girls introduced themselves at Oklahoma, SoCal, and Alaska (our nicknames for the trip, just where we were from... not a beauty pagaent trip though!).

We headed out to a yummy, casual mexican dinner with lots of margaritas and then straight to Ghostbar. The elevator from the W Hotel lobby to the club felt very VIP and the club decor was classy and fun. We enjoyed some cocktails, danced to good tunes on the dance floor, and spent some time chilling on the gorgeous outdoor patio. The patio was the best part; amazing views overlooking Dallas on a clear, beautiful night. We were able to find a comfy table which served as our home base between dancing sessions. The club crowd was somewhat random but we met some fun people and enjoyed our own group.

Our conference the next day didn't feel so good (even after the late-night room service at the Omni!) but the Ghostbar experience was definitely worth it!

Had a blast but the reasons I had fun could be done at many bars around town.  The sticking point for this place is partying in the middle of the sky.

Go with a group, reserve a table, dance like idiots and really forget about whatever anyone else is doing?  Who gives a shit, after all?

Would consider going back for a special occasion or if friends are in town and we are "doing it up right" but for a normal drinking night, I would never consider going to this place.

Totally overrated. The music was sooooo loud you couldn't talk to anyone. The dance floor spilled over into the rest of the room so it was one big dance party. Which is great if you are a dancer. But if you are just wanted to have some drinks and chill, this isn't the place for you. It also takes a longtime to get a drink and it is a total production getting past security and up the "special" elevator that takes you to the bar.
I'd pass.

I have to say, I've been to Ghost Bar a number of times, and I always have fun.

Yes, the place is snobby, overpriced, and some of the patrons are downright annoying, but I've had a blast.

I've never had a problem getting in, even tho I'm not one of the "sexy people", but then again, I usually go on Wednesday nights.

The waitresses are fun, for the most part, and the music is usually good.  The view is amazing.

With features like velvet ropes, imposing bouncers, long entry lines (except for those on the seemingly endless guest list) and "VIP"-only table service, the Ghost Bar seems tailor-made to those Dallasites who want to experience a big city night on the town. Sadly, the fantastic views atop the W Hotel and the novelty of a glass-floored balcony can't make up for the crowd: twenty-something young women looking for older men to buy them drinks; older guyslooking for those young women; and clueless younger guys wondering why they're not getting any action. They should've named this place "Skankbar". Ultimately, this bar is too much like Dallas trying to be like New York -- and failing.

The reviews of Ghostbar are some of the funniest I've read.  It's a roller coaster of good night out/terrible experience/had a blast/this place sucks.  So I can only add that I had a good time.  And I liked it much better than the one in Vegas.  It was cleaner, hipper, and bigger.

Now, we weren't there on a party night, so it was kinda slow.  But I didn't care.  I was there to have some drinks with my friend and enjoy the view(s).  The balcony is great...THE most unbelievable view of downtown Dallas.  And it's great to get outside - that high - with the cool winds...knowing everyone down on the street is sweating their asses off.

The inside was a tad stale.  The music was decent, but not great.  The dance floor wasn't hopping, so that told me the DJ wasn't really doing his job.  But maybe it was a bad night.

But the bar tenders were great...really took care of us.  Of course, the prices were up there, but that was expected at a place like this.  And...not to brag...we had connections, so that always helped.  Hey...it's not what you know, it's who you know, right?

I'm sure if I was there on a weekend night - which I will be next time I'm in town - it will be more exciting and I'll bump it up to 4 stars.

Okay, I have a little bit of a jaded perspective by my one visit to Ghostbar.  By the time I walked into the Ghostbar at 11:30pm, I was already a few drinks in from a party at the W residences.  The party continued at the Ghostbar with bottle service provided by the host, no waiting in line and a large area of booths for our group.  Since I know this is unrealistic most nights, I tried to keep that in perspective with rating the rest of the bar, but I am not sure that is possible.  We really did have a great time dancing to the good mix from the DJ booth and enjoying our little area (note - definitely more of a lounge than dance club, but we made our own little dance floor that night).  Also, on the way in, I shook hands with one the Dallas SWAT guys who was certain to tell me that the show was premiering July 12th...funny.

The crowd was very mixed.  Old, young, conservative, hipsters, wannabe trendy folks, fake boobs, real boobs...pretty much everything.  The balcony has pretty spectacular views and is a nice break from the loud music inside.  The decor is modern and simplistic, but has a pretty cool vibe.  The only time I got really annoyed was when I went to pick up the bottle to add a little vodka to my glass and the go-go boot wearing waitress snapped at me saying "I have to do that."  When I asked her what the point was of having bottle service if she had to serve me, she politely ignored me and poured a shot into my glass.  I did not see waitresses manning any other tables...that was irritating but not enough to kill a good time.

I am not sure I will ever go back here and would probably only go if someone had bottle service...with a big group...after some cocktails.  This does not seem like the club you want to walk into dead sober.  Anyway, a good time can be had here, but I recommend going with a lot of friends.

(well, that was supposed to read like SNL head bobbin music)

anyways, that's exactly what Ghostbar reminds me of...those two SNL dudes in the club. For some reason most bachelorette parties I've been to have always ended up at Ghostbar. WHY? I just don't really understand the appeal, unless you're from out of town and want to see a good view, if you're a Cougar, or if you like paying way too much money for your drinks.

Ghostbar is way too trendy and will probably out date itself in, oh, negative two years.

First time at this Ghostbar. It seems that those living in Dallas aren't fans. I was there for the Niners game. So we went down with  large group and a "connection." We got the VIP botle service table. That proved to be very useful. Ghost is at the top of the W Hotel. One can get a good view of downton. It is also a short walk to the Arena. So if you are coming in town for basketball or hockey. Great area to stay.
Like I said we had bottle service. The table was just off the dance floor which was crowded this Friday night. So it was our little island to relax. Our serveor was very helpful. Our group ended up being 20. So she got busy. A second bottle came out as a compliment. I had wondered by but at the end when we tab out. We learned that the connection and total helped being the reason.
There are a few quirks. Loved dancing with those gals having girls night out. To that cutie, no problem buying you a Corona but still have to ask why you passed on free vodka. Loved you asked my number real quick and called hour  later for "fun."  I really must be getting to be old lonely guy when pro's come out of no where...  I'd say it was why charm but LOL.
In all, we had a good time. I liked my "island" seat.

This review is a long time coming as I attended the Halloween night here. First off this place is a tad overpriced for what it is, because there drinks charged an arm and a leg. They have beautiful women roaming the place, but the staff doesn't understand the concept of customer service just $$$.

There are three types of people who come here with money to burn: old men with money, kids with a trust fund and ballers. So don't expect a laid back atmosphere has everyone is on the agenda to get some action. If you just want to enjoy the eye candy while drinking with a friend who is buying you drinks, this is a place to be. Otherwise save your time and money for somewhere else.

Here's the thing:  I could be wordy and describe my night in full detail, giving you a minute-by-minute account of my very short night at the Ghost Bar. Or, I could wrap it up in three quick words: this place blows.

Ok, Ok..I know this site requires a bit more detail, so here goes.

I had a work event at the W, so a few of us thought it would be funny to go up to the Ghost Bar afterwards.  The doormen, who must have had a theater background, acted as if this was the experience of a lifetime and that we were truly lucky to be allowed in to the most exclusive club in the city. The reality?  There were all kinds of people in the Ghost Bar that night, half of whom were less hip than my parents.  The club itself is very cold and uninviting, the drinks were weak and overpriced, and really, the only thing the club has going for it is the view, which gets old after 10 minutes.

So like I said in the beginning...this place blows.

Tried to get into Ghostbar with a friend but there was a 'private party.'  No line, but they had the unmitigated gall to have a guest-list and if you were not on it, it was free for ladies and $40 for guys.  The doorman was visibly embarrassed to utter this to us.  This is WRONG in ANY city but if I wanted this bu!!$hit I would have stayed at home (LA) and at least maybe saw celebs....not lame ass people on company expense account vacation.  Newsflash Dallas W/Ghostbar: YOU ARE NOT IN VEGAS, LA OR NYC!  I've had a completely different experience in both NY and LA W's.  The next night we went to the lounge in the lobby and realized this was were all the fun was anyway.....also, the lounge at the Ritz Carlton was waaaayyyy better!

Here's a short take. The bouncer bends you over if you're a guy. The music was a mish-mash without any mixing talent - you do not go from Trance, to Rock and squirt some Michael Jackson into the lineup. The view was nice, and the bartender was cool (mostly due to a heavy dose of tipping on the first round).  The club is a bit pretentious, yet I had a really good time because of the awesome ladies that took me there.

Go back? I'll explore other clubs on my return visit.  I'm sure it'll be a great time regardless of the venue, as those ladies can turn crap into gold.

Relive the 70's cult movie "The Warriors" in downtown Dallas! This place is fantastically entertaining if you're a sociologist or professional people watcher. Possibly for lack of alternatives or because the bar is just so huge, it's as if all Dallas scenes have laid claim to GhostBar: 30 something conference attendees with ties around their heads,  Good Charlotte groupies, blinged out Usher look-alikes, transvestites - every one has in on the action.  Waitresses appear to have  day jobs as stripping nurse telegrams. In contrast to yelper Vi J., I thought music was fine "mash-up lite" mix of 80's, synth-pop, dirty south.  Shockingly it was packed on a Tues. eve.

If you're in Dallas for work and want to be thoroughly amused by a cavalcade of whimsy, go to GhostBar.  If you live in Dallas, you should probably avoid it at all cost.

One of about 4 bars in town that when you open door (or elevator) you hear a faint "doooooooooooooooooouuuuuccccccchhhhhheeeeeee" as you walk in and it's quickly replaced by crap house music.

I had a great time!  My friends & I [about 8 total ] went there to celebrate a bachelorette party.  and maybe its cos we went there around St. Patrick's Day after the parade that everyone at the lounge just seemed to have a very unpretentious attitude.  The music was awesome & we didnt stop dancing all night.  I loved the view of the Dallas skyline from the glass terrace.

If you enjoy people watching a bunch of stiff, orange hued, money flaunting, game playing losers desperate for attention, by all means, go to the Ghostbar, you'll love it! Otherwise, save your time and more importantly, your money. Because the ghostbar will suck it up. The only reason we even went is that a friend from out of town was being put up in the W by his company, and he asked if we wanted to check it out since it has the gas observation deck. So, in we went. We had more than one nasty look, as we were not wearing large signs that said "Prada" on our foreheads. We each had one overpriced drink of low quality and checked out the view. The view was cool, of course. I love downtown Dallas at night. That was really the only positive. The music sucked, the people sucked, the drinks sucked. Go to a real bar with real people instead!

*Note:  this review is based off a single visit.  I'll update as make other visits*

I went to Ghost Bar on a Tuesday night, during one of their Tuesday events.  As I am not a fan of crowded places (or cover charges), I doubt that I'll ever end up there on a weekend, when the bar is really supposed to be poppin'.  Regardless, as advertised, the bar was filled with beautiful people throughout the night.

This is without a doubt the most luxuriously appointed bar I've seen in Dallas, and could easily hold its own against the luxury bars in LA or even Vegas.  The place is just nice-  plasma TVs that just display the Ghost Bar Logo, tables in a contemporary design (that require a $300 Bootle service to reserve), and a breathtaking view to the Dallas skyline.  This is without a doubt THE place that I'd take all of my out of towners who say that Dallas is a country town trying to be a big city.

The service when I was there a was really good.  The waitresses were all beautiful (of course), scantily clad (of course) in white jump suits, and friendly and efficient. You would often find the waitresses dancing among themselves when weren't serving the guests- though in my cynical mind it seemed a little forced.  The waitresses really seemed to enjoy their job.

The music played a prominent role in the bar atmosphere, and the DJ played a good mix to 90s hip hop and contemporary music.  I really enjoyed the mix, though it was louder than I'd expect for a bar, and more in line with what I'd expect in a night club.  It made it difficult to carry a conversation, and since there is only a limited amount of dance room, it was also difficult to really dance.

The real MO at ghost bar is to see and be seen, and there were enough decked out people in the club to please anyon.e.  Earlier in the night, the crowd seems to be the standard happy hour crowd, but as the night went on the crowd grew younger.  People were wearing all manner of dress, from polo shirts to designer t-shirts to the standard striped shirt.

The view here is incredible, you see a beautiful panoramic picture of the Dallas skyline.  Unfortunately, the famous glass deck was closed for whatever reason.  It was a typical stuffy Texas night, but the deck will be incredible during the fall or spring nights.

The drinks are incredibly expensive (of course).  I think my well cape cod was $9, but considering the environment, the prices were well worth it.  Those prices will, however, inhibit me from going there regularly.

Ghost bar is someplace that you have to experience a couple of times, at least, and could end up being a staple in my bar rotations.

Arriving at Ghost between 10:30 and 11 PM for what was to be a fun filled night celebrating the upcoming nuptials of close friends proved to be an all out fiasco and series of unfortunate events all orchestrated by all the door men and bouncers.  These were comprised of professionally dressed men in well pressed suits clutching clip boards and talking into their bluetooth headsets prancing around like secret service agents in the muggy Dallas heat.  This has to be a joke right?  Last time I checked this was Dallas and correct me if I'm wrong, but last I heard the Olsen twins and Lindsay Lohan weren't making pit stops in Dallas on one of their transcontinental trips just to pay our over glamorized version of Ghostbar a visit.  Clubs and bars are known to hold the lines, but this place takes it to a whole other insane level.

So there was always a lot of hype surrounding this place, so everyone wonders, can they actually back that, do they even have anything worth boasting about, the answer is flat out NO.  Their decor is cute and modern, but you could easily throw together some cheap shizz from Eurway or Ikea you could easily replicate that look at home with the money you save buying drinks elsewhere.

I will take full accountability for making the first mistake by leaving my ID in the car which led to the separation between me and my other friends who proceeded upstairs escorted by one of the 30 bouncers / human herders.  What followed proved to be nothing but pure and utter ridiculousness.  Although we opted to do table service that evening, because we did not go up with the gentlemen earlier, we were haggled to pay the door cover, put in the wrong line to the elevator, waiting in line in a huge cluster fuck of people like cattle.  After some discussion with 3 different employees we were finally taken to the VIP line to be expedited on through to the elevators.  Once you are there of course they cram in as many hot and sweaty fucktards in there with you as possible. This panic came over me as the bouncer allowed one heifer after another on until we were all shoulder to chubby shoulder...good god, isn't there a weight limit on this thing?

Once upstairs the crowd observed was a collection of all negative Dallas stereotypes all thrown haphazardly together into one bar environment almost like an evil science experiment just to see what debauchery would result of it.  You saw the pretentious, the older yuppies from the suburbs that were the only people thrilled to death when the DJ threw Prince on the turntables, leather-faced older women who seemingly borrowed their teenage daughters clothes for their big night out, and the always present creepy guy at the bar staring down any female walking within arm's reach.

Music was a disappointment.  Sure we snapped our fingers to Little John, rode dirty with Chamillionare, but where's the dance music?  Would it really kill them to put on some Timo Maas, Gabriel & Dresden, damnit even Oakenfold, that's mainstream right??  Give us that at least, we paid way to much to have to suffer through techno remixed rock power ballads laced with samples from 80s synth-pop poorly mixed with modern hop-hop.  Maybe I'm just being picky because apparently there were enough sloppy drunk girls dancing all over the walkways (there is not a designated dance floor) who eventually began to encroach on our area right by our tables continuing to bump and grind while sloshing their drinks all over the place and ultimately onto your shoes.

The only thing that made my night was our waitress, who was a sweetheart and very helpful, and my cocktails, which she took plenty of care to pour refills of before any of us had to ask.

I look back thinking this was all a horrible nightmare, but unfortch we have the pictures we took from that night to prove otherwise.  If this place is to succeed and please the finicky Dallas crowd, I hope they will wise up and improve their musical offering as well as fill the bar with people who honestly just want to have a great time not show up to stare and gawk or to be there just for the sake of saying they have been there.  No amount of words can fully express the amount of disdain I feel about the service we received that evening, but hopefully your visit does not leave the same sour taste in your mouth.

Lol, after reading the other reviews, I started to laugh out loud as I remembered my one & only experience at the Ghostbar.  We were going to meet up with a big group of people and since we were good & drunk (it was TX/OU weekend last year), we decided, well we might as well see what this bar is all about.  So, my best friend doesn't want to go, so she drops us off right out front.  Luckily she drives a Mercedes, so we feel cool...sort of.  We get out and realize that Bryan's best friend, Austin, is wearing flip flops.  Great, we probably won't even get through the front door.  Bryan pushes me up first & sandwiches Austin between us hoping they won't notice.  "The bouncer/big over tanned dude dressed in all black" asks for our names.  LIKE WE'RE ON THE LIST!! HA!  So, we give him our names, and I tell him, "We're not on the list!  But I know some people that probably are."  He is focusing so hard on looking for our names, and I tell him again that we're not on the list.  He starts to look at us all, and I again remember Austin's flip flops & all of a sudden we are being pushed inside!  Awesome, we made the cut!  Austin then informs me that he slipped "over tanned bouncer man" $50.  I start to get pissed.  WTF??  If they don't want us in their frou-frou bar, I don't want to be here!!  He assures me it is cool, and we get in...barely.

So, we go up the elevator which is sort of cool.  Once we are inside, we start looking for our friends, & I quickly realize we are going to need alcohol...ASAP!  There are so many overly-madeup, almost naked people in this bar, WHERE ARE MY FRIENDS?  We get (expensive ass) drinks & decide to check out the outside- which is the only reason my review gets its' 2nd star.  The outside platform "ledge thingie is cool.  It is freaky, you feel like you're gonna fall, whatever!  So we take some pics & then call our friends only to find out they actually aren't at the Ghostbar and are down on lower Greenville somewhere.

It's GO TIME!  So we get back in the elevator, grab a cab & leave.  At least I can say I've been, but I have no desire to return.

stupid stupid place filled with fake pretentious people, as in not actually pretentious, just trying to be (versus being fake and being pretentious..even worse) in a lounge trying to be a nightclub.

Went on a Saturday night at around 1130 so the line at the door was pretty long, we didn't know anyone and I've heard they are ridiculously uptight at the door. Um hello, you are a hotel bar in Dallas. Who you tryin to fool? Anyway, didn't really matter, we waited all of maybe 5 minutes, didn't pay a cover and oddly enough the guy to girl ratio was like 2 to 1. As always though, the easiest way to get into a club is maybe NOT to yell at the guys at the door and heckle them for their attention. Who would have thought? Find a spot in plain view of security and stand there and wait patiently and smile when they make eye contact. Done and done. (Although I was informed that by 12:15 they stopped letting people in. Friends were waiting outside and apparently informed they'd have to pay $40 to get in. Sounds like they make things up as they go. Who knows.)

So we get inside and I am overwhelmed and confused by this place. It's lounge-y with a ton of couches, tables, etc. I didn't even see the damn dance floor but supposedly it exists.  But blasting hip hop/top 40s. Nightclub? Lounge? No, definitely nightclub...no...hmm....I don't know really....What I did see were TONS of bachelorette parties. This furthered my confusion. Other than that, the girls not part of a bachelorette party were pretty hot, the guys...a bunch of tan Ed Hardy wearing meatheads. Enough said.

Now maybe I am a little spoiled, I am from NY and have partied in LA and work in nightlife in Boston, and Boston is by no means a hub for nightlife, but this was lame by any standard.

i would rather suck a fart out of my own ass.

was given outrageously incorrect drinks by spaced out intergalactic bimbos; consistently.  the bar put a 100$ hold on my debit card for a 20+ dollar tab; for 4 days?  maybe it was because i didn't wear a shiny shirt and snort cyber coke off of glittered boobs.

This place was awesome! Beautiful bar, beautiful people. I was there this past week on a work trip and went with co workers. The drinks are absolutely expensive- we had 4 shots and it was $75! but the view is amazing. I have been to one in Vegas, and even though they are both beautiful, the one in Dallas is a lot bigger. Wished it wasnt that cold and we would have hung out on the patio longer. Music selection was great too!
