We are new to Chicago and have a Goldendoodle named "Fargo". Shortly after moving here, we began our search for a dog walker and looked at and talked with several in the area. Similar to many other dog owners, we were very particular about who we would hire. Get Pet was a referral from a friend, and we are VERY happy with the service and people involved. We couldn't be more satisfied.
Once we met with Kyle we knew immediately we wanted to be a client - he brings a level of enthusiasm, commitment, and overall canine knowledge to the table that we didn't see with any of the other companies we spoke to. Our initial meeting left us very impressed, and after using the service for a while we haven't been disappointed. "Fargo" has been a client for 3 months now and loves it - he's extremely happy and loves the entire Get Pet team. He is signed up to get 4 'hikes' a week, and is always tired when we get home from work. His primary walker is Ryan, and we couldn't be happier with him. Fargo totally loves him and we get a report from Ryan (always funny and entertaining) about his adventure for the day. In addition to the great service that Kyle and Ryan provide, they both are very caring and let us know if Fargo seems not his usual self, and provide advice on what the problem might be. They work with him on development areas and Fargo is even better behaved now than he was when we first hired Get Pet.
Overall, you won't find bigger fans of Ryan and Kyle / Get Pet than us. When we moved here we were a little nervous about how Fargo would acclimate to his new surroundings. Thanks to Ryan and Kyle, we no longer have that worry - their service is awesome, definitely worth it! -

We have been Get Pet clients for just about six months now, and I can honestly say that it has been an EXTREMELY positive experience for my husband and I, and our pup.
Kyle and his team take the time to carefully assess your dog's needs, and design a walking schedule that works for you. Thanks to them, our dog gets much more excercise and is noticeably more calm and content during our busy work week. The updates they provide on each walk are a nice touch, and always help to remind us that our dog is in great hands while we're away.
But perhaps the best part about Get Pet is the flexibility they offer to their clients. Our schedule changes (as does any busy person's) and Kyle and the team have been 100% accessible and willing to adapt to our last-minute requests. I've been blown away by their responsiveness and helpfulness on a variety of occaisions.
All in all, I'd highly recommend this service to anyone in the area. This is a high quality group of people providing an oustanding service for pet owners. Well done, Get Pet!

I absolutely love this company!!
I met with Kyle, the owner, last week. He was very good with my skiddish Chihuahua mutt from the get-go. He went over their policies, and together we built a a walking schedule for Panther, my dog.
The pet profile sheet is very detailed, which is perfect for OCD dog owners, such as myself. They even went as far to ask if my dog should have tap, bottled, or filtered water, which I have never had the luxury of choosing with a dog walker.
The following day, during the first walk, Kyle sent me a picture of Panther with her new dog walker. The next day, I got home early, and got to see Panther with her dog walker. After one day, Panther was completely comfortable and excited to go out (this never happens)!
GetPet goes above and beyond with their service, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. -

I realized after rescuing our first pup in 2003 that I was a "mom" with separation anxiety, so unless the dog could travel with us, my husband and I weren't going anywhere far for long. Road trips instead of flights were fun for a little while, but we soon lost our zest to make anymore travel CD soundtracks to hold us over. Even our poor dog looked bored as hell a mere thirty minutes into each trip.
With each of us working well over forty hours each week, we had hired a dog-walker from a local neighborhood business and, although there were never messes to be cleaned up when we got home, we suspected the care given was half-assed because there were times the leash had not moved from where we had left it that morning and the water bowl was near-empty. We were looking for a change, but hoping to wait until after an upcoming trip home (out-of-state) to start the process.
Enter: Kyle from Get Pet. A friend of mine had referred Kyle's information to me and, after we were told last-minute our current dog-walker would be unable to help us over the weeks leading up to our trip, I contacted him to get some information. It was instantly unmistakable that I was one pet-lover speaking to another. Kyle agreed to come by the next day and meet with me and my pups (we adopted another one in March 2009.)
Puppy love at first sight!! Not only did my girls allow Kyle to sit and walk with them, they were following him around instead of me!! Kyle was very mindful of the age difference between them (8 years versus 9 mos) and even helped me with puppy training techniques (no jumping, walking on a leash, etc.) and nutritional info on both age groups. The results I saw in a matter of a few days convinced me to go where I'd never gone before... we FLEW home for our visit, leaving our babies at home for the first time ever!! I wish I had discovered Kyle sooner - he sent me daily picture messages and emails of their status and whereabouts and they were so happy!! To date, Kyle is the only person I trust to watch after our pups.
I cannot recommend Get Pet highly enough!! I was never a person comfortable with the idea of leaving my little companions with anyone else, nor the thought of someone being in our house while we're away, but, it's a completely reassuring experience on both concerns the minute you meet with Kyle. He's totally dependable and genuinely enjoys taking care of animals. I truly think my dogs would agree with me when I say he's their "mom-away-from-home." -

Kyle has been walking my Rat Terrier, Sammy, for a couple of weeks now. Sammy really seemed to like Kyle when we both first met him. And Kyle seems to genuinely love animals. So far everything has gone great. Kyle leaves a detailed note about where they walked and what they did while out on their adventure together.
I would highly recommend Get Pet. -

There aren't enough stars on Yelp to give Get Pet the stars it deserves!! Seeeeeeriously. Kyle is more than a dog walker, he's my Clover's cool Uncle K -- you know, that awesome uncle you'd rather hang out with because it's so much more fun than being with boring old mom.
For five stars... Clover adores him -- he loves her just as much it seems! She gets a lot of good, healthy walks to new places (more than with me!) and socialization with other pets when she's with Kyle, and for good measure some schooling as well... Cloves used to have the worst leash manners but after she spent a full week in Uncle K's custody, she's perfect on the leash. How does he do it? I don't know, but my coffee-burn-free hands which are no longer yanked here and there by an excitable pup are thankful though. Plus, Kyle is both your point of contact and the person who walks your dog -- no calling a manager and hoping the message gets to your walker in time or in the right way. It makes things so easy for you and more comfortable for Clover to have just Kyle and only Kyle to deal with. When interviewing other services, it was made clear that the person I was talking to about my dog was not likely to be the person dealing with my dog... a definite no, especially when their prices were higher or comparable to Get Pet.
For five stars... Kyle really goes above and beyond with service. He's super responsive with emails and calls, and it doesn't even have to be about his walks -- I've asked him about grooming, pet friendly places in the city, etc. It's so great to have him as a resource. He also runs a neat blog which shares these tips. Then, after walks, Kyle leaves a map (reusable laminated! sustainable!) marking where they went and a brief summary about what happened during their walk -- how Clover acted, what they worked on training wise, any hilarity, etc.
For 7 million stars... it's not how he is with the dog, but how he is with me. This service exemplifies "above and beyond." Basically, my boyfriend agreed to watch Clover over the summer while I was out of town for work, and we needed a dog walker to take Clover out midday while he was at work. After much searching, enter Kyle. Things were all set, but then, the boyfriend (messily) turned into an ex-boyfriend two days before I left town. Although the ex still took care of Clover, I couldn't count on him anymore to keep me updated with her or how she was doing. It was so upsetting and frustrating for a mommy like me who missed her pupster so desperately... Kyle was a SAINT. He took pictures of Clover during their daily walks and kept me updated on email on how she was doing. He answered all my nitty little questions from why her eyes looked like they were tearing up excessively to whether she had finally gone into the water at the beach. And then, he patiently dealt with the mess and confusion of having me and ex barely talking to each other (and arguing when we do) who can't keep track of anything... This extra stress is all in addition to his regular, agreed-upon dog walking duties, and Kyle handled it with such professionalism and understanding. Like I said, a SAINT.
With Clover in Kyle's care, I feel 100% comfortable that both my dog and my anxiety are going to be well taken care of. He's a Godsend. Get Pet is an absolute prize and I would recommend it in a heartbeat to any doggy parents! -

After calling every dog waking service in the area, I decided to go with Kyle with Get Pet. Besides, answering all of my questions and making me completely comfortable, Kyle seems to go above and beyond with my dog Sasha. He doesn't seem too busy with managing other clients and is always willing to answer my weirdest request. I look forward to the clever notes he leaves when I get home from work. Along with the map of their route with my dog and the things they did. He has great payment options and by far the most reasonable in town! Check because I did. With Kyle with Get Pet you get way more than what you pay for. Try him out you will not be disappointed!

Finding a dog walker is a bit more stressful than one can imagine. Finding a GREAT dog walker is all the more daunting. I mean, think about it, not only are you trusting this person wiht your dog (who for many of us blurs the line of being our child), but this person has full access to your home. That being said, we feel unbelievably thankful to have found Kyle and Get Pet Chicago. Right off the bat we knew we had found someone with integrity and kindness, and a dog lover and professional to boot!! There aren't enough great things we can say about Kyle, my suggestion would be to hire him yourself, and see the hard work he puts in to every walk. Even something as simple as clipping nails is something he takes with the utmost of professionalism.

My husband and I were having a difficult time figuring out what to do with our dog, Burnham. We had just finished obedience school and we were in the process of learning to manange our impulses and behave like a gentleman on walks.
We had a dog walker, but when I asked our obedience trainer about it, he indicated that if the dog walker is not reinforcing, on the walks, everything that we are learning, then "Burnie" would lose all we had worked so hard to learn.
It took months of calls and research to find Kyle, Gatsby and Dr. Seuss, but WOW what a blessing when we did. Kyle completely understood the "wait, watch, leave-it" commands as well as the inter "personal" communication that needed to take place between him and the pup (he understood, the "letter" and the "spirit" of what we needed).
We decided to give Kyle a try, and instantly we could see improvement in Burnie's behavior on walks. As the weeks have passed, we have continued to be impressed. We love Kyle almostas much as our puppy does.
Apart from being a wonderful teacher/walker/trainer for our dog, Kyle truly and sincerely loves his clients. He takes the time to discover who your pet is and caters to the personality nuances and needs of your dog. Our dog doesn't like to have his harness put on. So, Kyle will sit with him and give him a belly rub and really take his time and ease Burnie into the harness. He has also offered insights into our dog's personality that we didn't know and offered pointers and advice when we have sought it.
I cannot say enough about Kyle. 5 stars is definitiely not enough! -

I've used Get Pet several times and I am ecstatic about my experience. They treat you with the respect you would expect being a client - but, they also offer incredibly personalized services. They often offer insight and tips relevant to training, diet, etc. - and you can tell they love animals, which makes me feel more than comfortable leaving my dog in their hands! I would recommend Get Pet to anyone looking for personalized and animal loving pet services that are always punctual and helpful.
