Hmm... a club in Baltimore called "Get Down" - uh... I don't know about this... Is that an order or suggestion???

I have completely given up on the idea of 'clubbing' in Baltimore and was beyond pleasantly surprised last night! A coat check for $3, $5 cover - no pat down, and great diverse just out to party crowd, and absolutely great music!!!

The DJ played your classic hip-hop party starters, the new hot songs on heavy rotation on the radio, some great non-mainstream reggae, threw in a lil' reggaeton in there, and gave a go-go shot out for the DC-ers. I LOVED it! I danced the whole time - so much so my friend and I prolonged on bathroom break because we kept turning around and coming back to the dance floor! lol

I liked that everyone was just out to dance, not your 'looking around and sizing people up' crowd. I was also surprised by how big the place was! I was on the second floor where you could look over the first floor and I'm almost positive there was a third floor too.

I'm SOLD - I will be frequenting this place more regularly!

For what reason is the Friday night DJ so intent on putting on a good song for 30 second, seeing people get shaking, and then changing it to a song that people are completely unexcited about? FOR WHAT REASON!?!

Could be so fun if it just went for the fun song and PLAYED them. I like a good DJ, but this place is not it.

Also, I should say, I find the whole experience in this place to be questionable and sketchy (oh really, weird dude that's alone, you think if you just keep standing next to my friends and I and keep trying to grind on us that we'll eventually just not notice you attached to our hips and we walk around?). And, I avoid this place pretty consistently, but my friends sometimes end up there to dance, so I like to join if the feeling (BA content) is right.

    One Friday night, I got down at Get Down with free cover by simply clicking on the Like icon right here "https://www.facebook.c...;

The crowd was drama free and mixed with a 1 to 3 ratio (female to males).   There is not a dress code.  Sneakers, jeans, and tees are allowed.  Drinks were fairly price at $6 - $7 on average.

Lights and sound system were pretty fancy with a DJ overlooking the crowd.  Table service is available downstairs by the dance floor, in the corner lounge, and in the upstairs lounge area with balcony over looking the dance floor.

The small/mid size venue and atmosphere sort of reminded me of the infamous Rave scene back in the 90's.  The lights, music, crowd, and vibe equated to PLUR (Peace Love Unity Respect).

To conclude, a fabulous time with old and new school dance, hip hop music will u get at get down.

I was up there on Friday for my friends birthday. They had this guy named Dirty Hands and he was off the hook!!! I don't think I had ever gotten that much of a workout from dancing so much.

We got there early, some where around 10pm and there was a nice crowd of people there. It got busy pretty quick though, so get there early. The drinks were made to my liking, I enjoy the fruity ones and the lady bartender down stairs was awesome with making them perfect for me.

I can't wait until next time I am there....I think this is my new favorite place in Baltimore!!!

    Sometimes I just gotta dance.

The Get Down has replaced Fletchers? Where the heck have I been?
So I'm meeting some fellow yelpers here to get my dance on Saturday night.
I enter the place about 11:15 and it's packed, no line outside yet but it was  defiantly bouncing.

The first level has an open dance floor a bar area and a table service area.
The second level has a few sections to chill, VIP sections/sofas and of course a smaller dance floor. You can see everyone below from the top level while checking out the DJ and his booth. the crowd was mostly young and fun, a good ratio of women to men.Only one popped collar spotted.

The bar service is good even though they were busy, they were efficient and friendly. I paid 8 bucks for a Grey goose and cranberry.

I didn't get there early enough to use any of the table service but it looked like everyone in Noralyns crew was happy.

    Now about the music/lights/sound

    Great
    Great
    Awesome

    I'll be back.

Two thumbs up for The Get Down !

I must give kudos to the manager, Lisa, for addressing the situation we had last time,  I appreciate the time she took out of her day to get in touch with me.  While I am still not much of a club person, the management at Get Down certainly gets high marks in my book.

Laura the GM contacted me and gave me some drink tickets for the overcharged drinks I paid for the previous week.  This is above and beyond awesome customer service.  I also happened to book a table upstairs for my group that same evening.  Melissa was our server and she took great care of us.  Music was on point once again and my crew enjoyed the evening.  Great way to spend a Black Friday after all the shopping!

Disclaimer:  I'm not really a "clubber."  I've only visited a handful of clubs in B-more, and I can't remember the names of most of them (except Mosaic).  My friends and I arrived after 10 on a Saturday night, and I was taken aback by how tiny the club is.  I didn't mind the size, except when the "breakdancers" wanted to take over the floor and everyone pushed back against the walls.  Cmon guys.... I came to dance, not watch YOU dance.  Told you I wasn't a clubber...

We only ordered 1 round of shots (Gummy Bears, to be exact).  They were a-ight, I guess... I had planned to get my drink on here, but I had spent so much $$ at Pazo that I decided to just dance off my meal. :)

Overall, I didn't hate it, except for the overly-drunken middle-aged lady who kept touching everyone's butts, but that's neither here nor there.  I miiiight revisit, if I'm already drunk, with a different group (my friends definitely didn't love it), and definitely after midnight, when the crowd is hoppin and the music is better (in my opinion).

So I'm generally not big on places where you have to pay more than $5 to get in, particularly in Baltimore. I don't need an amazing ambiance or fancy dj if I'm going out to dance. I just need space to move and sweat and some Top 40 playing really loud. However since the bachelorette party I was with wanted to go here I went, paid my $10 and had a GREAT TIME!

We got a bottle of vodka with some mixers and danced our faces off to a good mix of modern pop and weird old school remixes that I really enjoyed. It wasn't too crowded but still had more than enough people for a good dance party.  The bouncers remained cool when I walked my way-too-drunk friend out to find a cab, not making any disparaging remarks or shooting dirty looks. Now I know the place to go if I want to spend a little bit of money and look fancy and dance a lot.

This is an amazing club to go to if you want to have fun and just let loose. The aesthetic is one of a cool electric vibe with multiple levels to chill, drink and dance. The cover is nicely set at $10 after 10 PM. (free before 10) if you have not RSVP'd to the event invitation they send on Facebook. If you have RSVP'd then the cover is waived until 11.

The drinks are amazing and very nicely priced. I was tired of ordering the same Long Island I ask for all the time so I asked the bartender to recommend me drinks and he crafted me some awesome concoctions that have expanded my drink selection and possibly created a new favorite (Italian Ice).

They often have guest DJs on Friday nights with varying styles but the music is always energetic and keeps the crowd moving. On Saturdays they have DC resident DJ Harry Hotter who is amazing at feeling the mood of the crowd and playing for the people. Don't expect a terrible amount of Top 40, there is some interspersed with the rest of what is played but  it's always mixed very nicely.

Now to the dancing, you will find a variety of people here doing what comes naturally, you want to two step? Go ahead. You want to pop and lock, you can do that too. Want to get your b-boy on and start breaking on the floor, that's an option as well and the people will actually create space for others to showcase their skills and talents. Everyone is respectful, cheers others on and is just overall cool. That is how all places should be. So if you're in the Fells Point area and want to find a good spot to hang out at, I can not recommend this place enough.

The Get Down is a great place to dance and have fun. I have been on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night and had a blast every time. On Fridays and Saturdays, the upper level was open, but Thursday was not as busy and only the first floor was open.

The DJs are all great and play the best dance music (Baltimore Club Music, anyone?) and the vibe is great. The crowd is diverse and everyone just wants to dance and have a good time.

The lights in the Get Down are awesome, setting the mood for fun and gives the place a good energy. Prices for drinks aren't too bad compared to other places in the area and the bar is pretty accessible.

To save on the cover charge: Be a fan on their Facebook page and sign up to receive their emails and you'll be able to get free cover just about any night.

This city needs more options like The Get Down!
It's a great place to go with friends and release your weekly stress. This place is serious about music and the crowd is serious about dancing.

Multi-level, multi-bar, good music (mainly quality hip hop), table service, minimum cover, but my favorite feature has to be the scene. The diverse crowd is usually a mix of hipsters, bboys and retired ravers. Nice and chill, everybody is here to have a good time.

Be prepared to rub elbows on the weekends though and lines for bar/bathroom can be excessive. Still worth it considering the closest similar option to party is about 45 min away...

First of all, look at me (go ahead don't be shy).  Yes, I am beautiful, but I am hardly the club type.  When I drive to Baltimore, it is generally to escape the pervasive club scene of DC (e.g. why does my sports bar have a dance floor, table service and DJ booth!?)  Baltimore is one of my favorite cities to go out in because it is the anti-club scene, the thought of driving here to go to the kind of place I was trying to avoid seemed ludicrous, but these are the things we do for friends.

We get there and the idea is to do table service.  There is a $300 minimum to reserve a table and sofa, but they waive the minimum saying "just have a good time."  Getting the table meant 12 of us bypassing the (short) line and the ($10) cover charge, suddenly I was starting to like this whole club idea a little more.

The manager escorted us up to the second level which was reserved for table service only, this meant there was a ton of room for us and no obnoxious crowds squeezing us in from all sides, no need to protect my wife from skeavy predator guys and plenty of room to put our coats down and **ahem** get down.

Two bottles of Grey Goose and mixers (about enough for 40 drinks) came out to $400.  Not cheap by any measure, but seeing as this also paid for cover, and the other perks of table service (extra room, extra service)  I thought it was a surprisingly good deal.  Apparently they even came around handing out free shots, but i was pretty far gone and couldn't have handled another drink.

The music on a Saturday night was mostly hip-hop but thankfully nothing top 40.  They played a couple tribe called quest songs, Warren G, "Regulators"  And a lot of stuff I couldn't recognize, but could easily dance too.  The consensus at the end of the night was that the music was good and fun.

I would definitely return for table service.  I still can't stand the whole club scene, but the table service situation was so well handled and reasonably* priced that I could actually see myself doing it again.  Damn, I never thought I would hear myself say that.

Came here on a Wednesday night.  Who goes to a club on a Wednesday?  This guy.  Right here.  The Deep Sugar girls were opening a new Wednesday night event and I'm always down for a quality deep house set.  I also wanted to hear this sound system opened up.  Although they were only operating on the lower level the sound was impressive.  Nice setup and acoustically warm.  Decorations were top notch as well.  Smart design.
The place filled up nicely for a Wednesday which was good to see.

Finally the city has a desent place to party it up.  Most of the bar scene in Baltimore ar small and tight.  This is a nice change of pace.  The management is great as long as the bartenders.

10 dollar to get in after 10pm.  1/2 drinks and free to get in before 10.  Place does get busy around 11.  And around 12 expect to wait in line.

Party rocking in the house tonight and in Get Down is where the party is at.  Everyone is having a good time and even the folks sited in the sofa areas are beep bopping  heads to the beat go Dj, go Dj.   Bartenders pouring up some good mix, so me and my crew can get our drink on.  This place might not be too big, but there's plenty of room for you to be grovin.  So, come on down to Get Down and get ready to throw some serious dance move on the dance flo.

This is a great place to come and dance with friends.  It is not your typical "DC" dance club.  Only $5-10 to get in.

When I have been it has been a very eclectic crowd (black, white, college, "ed hardy", "ravers", etc). Everyone seemed like they were there for one reason and that was to dance.

Plenty of space (2 floors), great music (house, techno, minimal, etc), awesome light show, & reasonably priced drinks.

We arrived to The Get Down at 9:45 on a Saturday night.

We were surprised by the free cover and half-off drinks before 10pm on a weekend. (Seriously, my g&t was $2.75.)

We were amused by the wildly eclectic crowd - but everyone was there for the exact same reason: to dance.

We were enthralled with the DJ's music selection - and this is the major draw to The Get Down.

If you're looking for a less pretentious club scene, this is the place to go.

Maybe Saturday Night Fever isn't exactly the right way to describe the Get Down, but it's close.  Maybe Saturday Night Fever minus the disco?  Everyone is at the Get Down for one reason and one reason only: to get down.  And it's awesome.

I've always encountered a $10 cover, but if you get there early enough you won't have to pay to get in.  If you are faced with the cover, remember that the atmosphere's electric with music that makes you want to groove and drinks that are fairly priced.

The place is big enough to dance without feeling crowded, and I've always felt safe leaving my coat on a table nearby.  I've also never felt as if I'm going to be "dance assulted" by some drunk guy here, which is saying a lot.  It's downright scary at some clubs.

I have yet to stay in this spot long enough to get it in with their hyped up dance parties so maybe when i do i'll change my review but i still like the spot. I come in early with their drink specials lasting til 10 which is awesome when happy hour is usually over by then. It look great inside with the lights and music and all the energy. I see how it wouldn't take long for this crowd to party into the night. Its kinda new but i hope its here to stay when usually the people that come through are pretty attractive and stylish for Bmore standards. You get some nice looking drinks and sit around on their modern chairs and have yourself a good time. Thats the extent of what i have done in my visits here so you're welcome to stay and have fun with the dance parties.

Went on a Friday night at 8pm. Really cool atmosphere, but 4.50 for a miller lite. Also, they advertised for a "funk/soul" club, it was until about 10 pm then the music turned into shit rap that is played at every other club. We didn't pay a cover because we got there early, but I think they were charging $10 to get in. It's only worth going from 7-10pm to catch the half off everything special.  Overall its great what they did to fletchers but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone AFTER 10 pm.

I was so pumped to go to the get down last night (6/10/11) form the reviews.. In my mind i was like yes a club in baltimore with decent people and decent music win!! but when i got there i felt like i was at a house party were people were on e. I didnt like the wall that changes colors.. The music I didn't like. I thought the mixing was bad, by the time i fiugred out what song was being played, it went right into another one, not enough time for me to enjoy what i was hearing, changing the beat.. Playing 80 music?  ugh Maybe saturdays are better? I don't think i'll be finding out though
