do yourself a favor and stay here!!! so charming. it's hard to explain, but i felt so at home yet it felt like a treat. the owners are wonderful! there's a little garden on the property where you are welcome to go fruit picking! you have access to the kitchen fridge for when you get those late night munchies. there's a jar of cookies on the kitchen counter top where you can help yourself to some yummy cookies. the breakfasts are beautifully plated and taste delicious! the rooms have a lot of character and warmth as each are unique. It feels like a total escape from reality and the hustle and bustle of city life, but just close enough...like you're miles away from the here and now, but not. ok now i really don't make sense. just book your vacation here...you won't regret it.
I liked staying at this inn. Just a quick drive from the city and yet feels many many miles away. The grounds are incredible - english garden feel with fun little discoveries as you meander along. The breakfast is quite yummy and often served outside and San Rafael has the weather for it! I didn't particularly like my room - it was down a staircase and below the kitchen. However, the other rooms looked quite charming and I think I had the only dog friendly room (which made up, sort of, for the bad location). The neighborhood is quaint and fun to walk around and the owners of the Inn are quite pleasant.
