I have been here once. My friend was absolutely raving about the bacon. It was really good and greasy. The truck stop is tiny--like a doll house. The decor truck stoppish. The owners were friendly.

Too bad this place is closed down. I would've like to have gone again.

Disclaimer: I fully plan to come back and update this review.

I spend a lot of time on Yelp. Because of that, I have been hearing about this place, and how it is a "must try". So when my co-workers, out of the blue, suggested trekking down here for a long lunch, I jumped on board right quick.

Having read the reviews, I knew that there was some controversy over their hours. We checked. We double checked. We triple checked. Yep, in fact, they would be open on a Tuesday at 11:45 for lunch.

So we hopped in my car with our trusty Google map directions in hand. Now, for anyone who works in corporate America hell, you know that going outside of a mile radius for lunch is not the norm. We decided to make the journey ...from Lake Union all the way to Georgetown.

We finally found the little house...."Sweet, it doesn't look busy!! We'll be in and out of there, and might even be back before we're missed at the office"

Lights on inside...turn door knob....push open door...and nothing. It won't open....Wait. Are those bar-stools upside down on top of the tables? But the lights are on? But the hours posted right here on the door say that they should be open right now.  ARE THEY CLOSED?????

The reality that we would not, in fact, be moments away from tasting bacon started to set in.

No note on the door. No explanation as to why they were not open during their regular, posted hours.

I really wanted to experience this highly acclaimed little slice of bacon heaven. I hope to be able to, and will update accordingly.

My new favorite place to have breakfast. EVER.

We strolled in here @ 2pm, in our Yoga clothes-  STARVING- me with my mouth still numb from novocaine.

We were welcomed by random decor, bacon memorabilia, and a sincerely friendly greeting from the owner. She convinced us that A) we wanted breakfast, and B) it was "cereal eggs"- her not on the menu special. Bacon, sauteed veggies and poached eggs served atop toasted cubes of bread in a gigantic bowl topped with spinach, avocado and cilantro. AMAZING.  Mine was served in a vintage Pyrex Cinderella bowl festooned with the "early American" print in gold. LOVE!

'twas if we were having breakfast at an old friends house, complete with ridiculously inappropriate mealtime conversations and deep belly laughs, which, if you know me at all, I fully advocate.

I LOVE this place!

Right after we left the airport, my husband and I were in need of some good food.  I had read the reviews on this place and wanted to check it out.  It is only about 10-15 minutes away from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.   The route we took was a little ghetto...we saw a lot of trucks and warehouses and weren't sure if we were headed in the right direction.  But....we rounded the corner and found this little cute house sitting on the corner.

We parked on the street and walked in.  There's only one table inside (probably can seat about 4 people).....and there are benches outside.  The interior has a homey feeling.  The menu's on the wall and it looks a little limited...but James (the co-owner) will let you know the specials that aren't listed on the wall.   MAKE SURE YOU ASK ABOUT THE SPECIALS!

Now onto the important stuff.....the FOOD!

I ordered the special.....called the EGG CEREAL.   Sounds weird huh?  But it is FABULOUS!!!!   It's a huge bowl with strips of perfectly toasted bread on the bottom.  Then it's topped with chunks of sausage, grilled onions and grilled cloves of garlic, grilled veggies (red pepper, broccoli, zucchini), cheese, avocado, 2 eggs over easy/medium, fresh spinach, and cilantro.  (See pictures I uploaded)

THE EGG CEREAL WAS THE BEST BREAKFAST I HAD IN SEATTLE!

My husband had their turkey sandwich.  He liked it a lot.....but just beware of the mustard.  It's a little spicy and definitely has a kick!   The slabs of turkey were nice and thick.  (I still think the egg cereal kicked ass over this).

James and Stephanie (the owners) are super awesome.  They're easy-going, very interesting to talk to, and they know most of their customers by name.

As we paid our bill, I looked in their dessert display and saw strawberry jam scones (see picture), biscuits, and a strawberry danish.   I mentioned that the scone looked delicious....and without a second thought, James gave me one for free!!!!   My husband and I enjoyed it immensely!!!  It had the right texture and the jam was sweet and complimented the scone.  THANKS JAMES!

I will definitely go back and eat here if I'm ever in WA.  I ate at a lot of restaurants while in Seattle, but my mind always wandered back to this place......

Attempted to eat at the Truck Stop on Sunday, having fully prepared myself for disappointment. I didn't trust them to not be closed for the hot weather or some kind of emergency, but thankfully, the doors were open and they welcomed us in.

I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and I loved every bite. How often do you eat breakfast and find that you can't finish all the BACON? That never happens. Thank god I've finally found a place that doesn't skimp on the bacon. Seriously. Bacon galore. My mouth is kind of watering just remembering it. Was also pleased with the super crispy tortillas and that the egg didn't overwhelm the dish. Oh, and there was broccoli! I'm big into broccoli.

Friends ordered the Egg Cereal (a giant bowl of every delicious breakfast food you can possibly imagine- bacon, sausage, sourdough crutons, avocado, onions, peppers, etc) and the Breakfast Burrito (pretty much the Egg Cereal wrapped in a tortilla).

Nearly every single employee came to check on how we liked our meals. In unison, we all replied, "It's fantastic", again and again.

The end.

......Turns out they're indeed a bunch of flakes. I went there today and they're closed, all the appliances uprooted and stacked by the door. You would think that with all the support they have been given by this community, they could have at least left a note at the door explaining what's up. At least I have wasted a trip there during posted business hours to find them closed one last time. Good riddance!

Update: 8/13, A "friend" of the owners emailed me via Yelp and says they're selling the business......meanwhile a call to their phone yields a message that says they're merely remodeling during the month of August.

The beez-kneez, the cats meow.  This is one of those places that yelpers flock to.  It's so yelpy and naturally best visited with other yelpers, in this case thanks to Quinn R for the transport and fine company.  Really good creative food, done and done.

I had the biscuits and gravy with some scrambled egg on top, for lunch.  I may have made a mistake, not because it wasn't amazing, but perhaps the bacon spinach tomato avocado sandwich would have been better.

I would love for this place and skillet street go head to head, just really great food.  Sit outside even if it's a little too cold.

Update: I went back the next day and got the BLT, amazing bacon, that's all I can say, amazing, oh, and they might just throw a little fresh baked desert at you if you sit for awhile.

Damn, I miss this place already.

Yes, the business hours sucked mightily.  I'd call and confirm they're open, and then there'd be a sign saying "sorry, sick," or "spontaneous vacation," or "didn't feel like it," or something like that.

Yeah, it wasn't exactly fast or reliable.

And yes, it was kind of ghetto.  The place is small, the water glasses were weird, and the decor was pretty much stuff from the owners' basement.

But the food was interesting.  Egg salad, that kind of thing, was a clever twist that was both familiar .  I thought Stef's eggs were some of the best I've had in town.  Their more conventional offerings, like meatloaf sammiches, were good too.  Plus, it was just a fun vibe.  It's not often that Seattle gets a restaurant that's unique, fun and affordable.

Alas, this awesome space will probably always fail to hold a business.  If a place with GTS's word-of-mouth couldn't survive, I'm afraid it's hopeless.

Big loss for Georgetown.

I think everything here comes with bacon...

Delicious thick mouth watering bacon....wow I really want some bacon.

The highlight of this place (besides the food) was an actual big rig truck pulled up and 'stopped' right in front so the drive could get some delicious grub.

If you didn't have a reason to visit Georgetown before you do now.

If I would have reviewed this place a couple of months ago it would have gotten two maybe three stars from me. I used to love the breakfast burritos that "Virgina Madsen" used to make but she just recently sold the place! Which truly is for the best because the previous owner had trouble opening the place up on time, keeping staff, etc. It used to be a roll of the dice to stop by this place.

So my point is that if you have been to this place before- and stopped going because it was never open- try again! The place was new charm, a fresh coat of paint, the people are friendly, and the good homecookin food is better than before!

If you have trouble finding the place -welcome to the club. My best suggestion is drive aimlessly around Lucille and 6th and on a back road you'll see a small hut that is brightly painted with white plastic lawn chairs outside. That's the place!

I'll admit it, I came to this place looking for something, anything to criticize about this place so that I could be the first give it less than 5 stars.  In this mission I failed miserably.

What is not to like about this place?  It has such a friendly, un-pretentious, neighborhoodey feeling about it.  The owner, who was manning the register when I came in, is incredibly nice and helpful and the seating, which could've been a major downfall (there is only one table inside and the seating outside has a very lawn furniture feel) instead just added to the laid-back neighborhood feel.  Admittedly, the beautiful day helped--I have no idea how this place could function on a rainy day.

But enough about the ambiance.  Bah to ambiance!  A breakfast joint is about the breakfast, nothing else.  Food-wise, with a name like 'Georgetown Truck Stop' I was expecting greasy spoon breakfast standards but got nothing of the sort.  I firmly believe that a breakfast joint can be best judged by their biscuits 'n gravy and I will now declare that:

THE GEORGETOWN TRUCK STOP HAS THE BEST BISCUITS 'N GRAVY IN SEATTLE.

Yes folks, you heard it here first.  The gravy is the best gravy I have ever had.  Giant chunks of sausage and bacon (bacon in gravy? Genius!) in a sauce that's not too salty and just peppery enough.  The home-made biscuit suffered only from a lack of flaky-ness, it had a cornbread consistency but tasted great.  My dining companion had the egg cereal, which was also very tasty, very original and possibly even very healthy.  And the bacon?  Best bacon in Seattle.  Yum!

Will I be back?  Just as soon as I'm able (and as long as the weather is good).  They apparently have a completely different weekday menu , which I can't wait to check out.

If you're ever driving a maddening scribble through Georgetown, cursing the fallibility of hemoglobin as a reliable compass while you fail to find the damned UPS pick-up office, you'll have to admit that being given a whopping breakfast burrito by a tattooed Maggie Gyllenhaal lookalike is nevertheless a merciful consolation for losing yet another lunch hour to the outrageous delivery policies of America's least user-friendly parcel-shipping service.

Georgetown Truckstop is a testament to what a little will and some well-seasoned pans can do. The owners pull off daily miracles of perfect eggs, impressive pastries, god's own breakfast burritos, and homemade cookies.

Under new ownership after a period of spotty service and hours, the Truck Stop is now undergoing a revival that involves more menu selections, more patrons, and more outside seating. While these changes are surely improvements, they have come at some cost, including the heartless abandonment of a few old-school classics (mourn the parting of the hashbrown casserole) and long order wait times during the lunch rush.

Still the owners' enthusiasm and earnestness in regard to their new enterprise makes it hard to have hard feelings here. And you can phone ahead for food to go. But stick around if you can. Owners and patrons alike are what down-home folks call "good people."

We hit this place for breakfast on the last full day of a week long stay in the Northwest. It was amazing. Really big portions... really big. I had a special referred to as a "scramble." There were eggs buried under a heap of fresh mozzarella and veggies including red peppers, spinach (i think), zucchini or cucumber or maybe both... I have no idea, but it was pretty amazing. The biscuits and gravy looked and smelled delicious, too.

Some local workers/drivers came in and hung out for a while, they all seemed to be friends or at least very friendly. It was a great atmosphere.

We were there on a rainy day, but otherwise, we would've used the outdoor seating. It's a bit cramped inside there, but somehow we all squeezed around a corner table. It was cozy.

When I verbally describe this place to my friends, I always find myself immediately explaining that, despite the name, the food is not traditional truck stop fare (i.e. simple and greasy).  As far as I could tell, their connection to the trucker world is that trucks often drive by their establishment (to be expected in Georgetown).

The food is ample in poritions, fresh in appearance and taste, and felt like something homemade, assuming you come from the home of a kick-ass cook.  I had the chicken salad sandwich with a side of pasta salad.  The sandwich had thick slices of extra tasty bacon to go with the chicken, and the pasta salad had these mushroom-like things that were unlike any kind of mushroom I have ever seen, but they were great.  Intrigue and adventure -- seldom a feature of my normal lunch, but included at no extra cost with every meal at the Truck Stop.

It is a tiny building, located on a larger piece of land.  Most of the interior space is of the "behind the counter" variety, although, there is a single picnic table inside.  No worries, there are 4 tables outside on the grass, with 2 of them under the cover of a canopy/tarp.

I love this place.

I got turned on to this place from all the wonderful Yelp reviews and because it's close to my work, I went there for lunch recently.  Its small, cozy, and has the feeling of a good neighborhood hang out.  Even through it was my first time there, I felt like I was going there for years.  The people working were cool, casual and welcoming.  They know how to take part in the kind of casual conversation that friends usually have.  In fact, we chatted about Yelp and they really expressed their gratitude for all the great reviews.

I'm big on customer service, and it was refreshing to experience very casual, genuine service that was still very complete.

I guess I can talk about the food... yes indeed - Bacon rules here.  I had the apple bacon sandwich with big bacon slices, spicy mustard, spinach, yellow peppers and sliced apples.  Flavor was great, but what amazed me was the size of that thing!  Huge.  I'll be back to try more.

The only con, and one that doesn't warrant dropping a star off the review, is that the place is really small.  It was hard to find a place to hang out while I waited for my food.  Lots of people coming and going.  I think there are like 4 places to sit.  No biggie.  Lets face it, it's an on the go lunch joint, not the place to go for a lunch date unless you want to sit outside.  They pack up the sandwiches well, so eating on the go is easy.  Oh yeah, and it seemed like people could call ahead for orders too.

A great place to stop if you are in the area, but worth a side trip if you aren't.

The best bacon in Seattle.  End of review.

OK, well, maybe a bit more.  It's a teeny tiny place that maybe squeezes 6 people inside but lots of seating outside if it's nice.  Breakfast burrito is amazing, super fresh and quite large.  My lady gets the egg cereal and swoons over it every time.  The scones are fresh, and are really good.  Very nice folks that run the place and super laid back.  Don't expect much from the atmosphere or the decor but the food is fantastic.

Ok, I admit, I haven't officially dined at the GTS.  But they get 5 stars for the most engaging five minutes I have had in a restaurant in many a year.

Me and the Missus roll in fresh from our Odyssey tour of G-town last weekend, little Yelper in tow.  Unfortunately, we arrived post brunch rush, and GTS was out of my little Yelper's favorite pastry (pretty much anything with chocolate).  However, rather than shoo us out, the owner gives us a couple of scones...on the house.

She and her clientele then proceed to guide us to where I can satisfy the little Yelper's chocolate fetish.

Now, there are many places that can provide great customer service, but few reliably enlist their customers to help as well.  Awesome experience.

We're gassin' up the Odyssey for the weekend based on this simple exchange.  Hi-ho-Honda, its off to GTS we go!

Based in a former single family residence built in 1924, the Georgetown Truck Stop serves some of the best tasting food at very affordable prices in town ($5 - $7). Friends of mine told me about this place a couple of years ago, but I haven't had the privilege of eating here until just recently.  Guess I'll need to play catch up!

In a span of about four days, I've had the following in the next couple of paragraphs **insert pig noise here** :

Breakfast burrito consisting of eggs, black beans (they were out of chili), cheese, tomato, cilantro, onions and sour cream.  I swear this monster of a burrito weighed a couple of pounds!  While I was waiting for my burrito, I noticed a scone in their pastry case.  I asked about it and was told it was a biscuit.  It had coriander, cumin and all sorts of stuff in it that I can't remember, but it is the base of their wonderful biscuits and gravy. James gave me a biscuit to take with me!  How awesome is that?  I ended up ordering the biscuits and gravy the next day for lunch.  It consisted of two biscuits covered in country gravy and large pieces of sausage.  It also has a spicy kick to it.  Nice!  I am not exaggerating when I say it is probably the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had!  The quiche is another breakfast to go option that is pretty good because it is served cupcake style.  Very portable!

Their sandwiches are totally awesome!  I really love the BSTA - thick slices of piled high bacon, spinach, tomato, and avocado and dressed with a honey Dijon mustard/horseradish sauce and mayo.  The other tasty sandwich I had was the chicken salad which also shared the same base as the BSTA minus the tomato and avocado.

The seating area is quite small.  After all, the house is less than 300 square feet and most of it is kitchen and prep area.  They have one four and one two topper inside.  Don't fret because they have plenty of outdoor seating.

I am most envious of the people who work and live in Georgetown because of this place.  If I lived or worked in Georgetown, I would definitely make Georgetown Truck Stop part of my daily ritual.  Seriously.

James and Stephanie have quite a following here and I'm happy to jump on this gravy train!

This place is WAY overrated. We dropped by there to check out the deal with all their rave reviews. I was in a good mood because I actually had time to check it out before work. I was expecting to walk into a cheery establishment, but felt the exact opposite. Whatevs, people have their bad days. What disappointed me was the food. It wasn't even that great. The boy and I both ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was...yawn* With all the reviews about how smashiing their food was and how it was worth the inconvenient location I expected the food to be just as worthy. SUCK.

I have patronized this establishment for 2 years and through 2 owners, but that came to an end today.
The little mister and I were tired and hungry from a day of tile making in the Cold Storage building, when he suggested popping over to the truck stop for some munchies.  Not certain whether they are open on the weekend, I decided to find out.  Boy did I ever.  After wading through a group of men chatting outside the restaurant, we found the front door open and walked right in. That's when the disembodied voice from the kitchen announced "we're closed, mother fuckers!  in case you can't read."
as a matter of fact, my six year old son and I both read quite well, but there wasn't a sign in sight.
Thank you, kitchen twerp, for clearing that up and reminding me that it's personality that keeps us little Georgetown businesses interesting. And that is not the same thing as lazy, obnoxious attitude.

I cannot say more good things about the incredible food and incredible people that reside inside this tiny restaurant in Georgetown.

Don't be put off by the fact that the name includes 'Truck Stop'. Everyone from bankers to cement truck drivers stop here. And the food is better than 90% of the high end restaurants in Seattle. From fresh, good ingredients to amazing creativity, the couple that own this place have a winning formula.

The portions are huge. Everything on their menu tastes great. I feel bad because they know the proprietor's name, but they know mine, and even know that when I call ahead I'm probably going to ask for biscuits and gravy! Who couldn't love homemade biscuits (fresh almost every day, they cook their own pastries!), smothered in gravy with HUGE chunks of sausage. (There is a fantastic vegetarian B&G option as well!)

If you're in more of a lunch mood (breakfast is served until 3pm), try the meatloaf sandwich or whatever the special of the day is. It's guaranteed to be good.

I don't know why I'm writing a review of one of my favorite places in Seattle ... this is a secret that shouldn't be let out.

Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: Very little seating unless it's sunny outside.

Low key kind of place. Had the roast beef sandwich with horse radish and had the meatloaf sandwhich the week before. The sandwhiches are great and they are huge. Service is really friendly.

We brought some Manny's brew with us and got buzzed during lunch and then we started doing burnouts in an old school V.W. mystery machine looking van in front of the joint.

After my initial disappointmenf of them not being open on weekends, I finally made my way for lunch on a weekday. (UPDATE:  They are now open on Sundays!)   I was well rewarded!  I've been back three times in the past month and will keep coming back.  My first time, I had a chicken club.  Nice tender slices of roast chicken piled high wth bacon, avocado, greens and a tasty mayo spread.  One of the other times, I splurged and got biscuits and gravy for lunch.  Delicious homemade biscuits with tons of sausage gravy.  Way too much to eat, I couldn't even make it through the whole plate.  They also serve fresh brewed plain old ice tea (thank goodness, no "mango" or "raspberry" weirdo flavors messing it up!).  The staff is always so nice and recognizes me when I come in now (even on just my second visit).  "Nice to see you again!"  It's a nice touch.  I'm definitely a regular now.

I love this place!  I had a 10 lb breakfast burrito and yes, I ate every last bite.  The tortilla was fresh and stuffed to capacity with eggs, cheese, sausage, salsa, etc.  I'm also in love with the juevos rancheros.  The portions are so big that my BF and I often share this for breakfast.  I'm also a sucker for the breakfast biscuit with bacon.  The biscuit is chock full of all sorts of delights, not just a plain boring biscuit.  It also has huge strips of thick bacon crammed in there with a ton of eggs and cheese.

The coffee and pastries (baked fresh daily) are also to die for.  I highly recommend the chocolate muffins.

Besides delicious food you can't beat the service.  I honestly can't remember the last time I rec'd such great customer service, even at a 4-star restaurant.  The staff is genuinely friendly (they offered my dog a fresh bone from the butcher). Even if you don't live near Georgetown you MUST check this place out for breakfast or lunch.  They are open M-F from 6-3 and they're now open for brunch on Sundays.

Being somewhat of a bacon addict (I can quit whenever I want, I swear) I was pleasantly surprised to find a bacon egg and cheese burrito to test drive. There was was plenty-O-food to eat, and it was well worth my random detour to check it out. Thanks for yet another rad place to eat at. What would I do without Yelp?

so many times has yelp been the viritual spot where i send slient thanks for awesome referrals to little hole in the walls and ma&pa establishments with incredible foods fo rme to enjoy.
georgetown truck stop was such a place and moment where i found myself completely at the mercy of tye yelping public's taste.
as usual, i was far from disappointment. actually, i was the furthest form disappoinmented you could be this morning when i asked my friend to come eat with me in georgetown.

through no fault to georgetown, googlemaps gave me the most impossible directions to the gts (what i will call it for htis review only...).
after getting hungrier with each block cruised and no closer to a small cute white house with a red roof, i opted to call the gts and find out where exactly it was. stephanie, one of the co-owners of the gts answered and, basically, held my hand like one would for a clueless 5 year old lost on his/her way to the candy shop.
the georgetown truck stop was my candy shop and stephanie was kind and patient enough to help me find my way.

once my friend and i got there, we found that the streets were quiet, parking readily avialable on the streets, and the little truck stop as cute as it looked on the yelp page for the restuarant.
we stepped in and found ourselves delighted. absoluted delighted by everything we saw.
it was tiny, but warm, cozy, homey-with a delicious scent of great food and people talking to jeff (who we later found out was the other co-owner along with steph)...and a rack of free scarves to choose from, if one felt like eating outside instead of in (free accoutrements to keep warm??? GOTTA LOVE IT!)

we asked jeff what he recommended and he started explaining-wrapping up a delicious description with a gesture towards the board outlinging the specials for the day. today's breakfast special simply said "food". jeff mentioned that is basically what he just ended up writing/calling it.
food sounded liek a great special. the friend and i both ordered it.
it came out warm, fresh, and exactly what a good, wholesome breakfast special should taste like. it included smoked ham, brocolli, tomato, cheese, and a lot of other goodies wedged in between two home-baked looking slices of biscuits.

we found that "food" was as good as it looked. it wasn't too big, nor was it too small. it was filled with both comfort items-as well as enough veggies to relaly balance it all. really-it would have done any health nutrition teacher proud. i mean, all four food groups were well represented in "food".

jeff also took the time to make conversation and when he mentioned that they did ingredients shopping for their food locally-it just made me all the happier to be at the g-town truck stop.
this is a place that will put good food in you and just make you feel good with the whole dining experience.

be warned, there is only one table for you to sit at in doors, but that really isn't something that will stop you once you visit this place once.
there were people that came in and went out while my friend and i ate.
it seemed steph and jeff were familiar with their customers, and they were really enjoying their georgetown truck stop.
you have to love being at a place tha tgives you great food, has good service, buys and supports local produce/merchants-AND enjoys what they are doing.

OOOH-and did i mention HOW incredibly cheap their food is for what they are providing???
it's a great bargain for what you gets to eat. seriously. you will not regret this choice.

the georgetown truck shop is definitely a treasure that seattle yelp should hold near and dear. 5 stars-and then some for this awesome gem.

Who cares if it's small, has no seating, a deceiving name and children's sandbox trucks out front. The food is delicious, extremely well made and the owners truly care about what they do. Isn't that the most important thing?

Stephanie & James...TJ, Chulita, and I are going to miss the heck out of your fantastic "what's in the pot today James?", Breakfast Buddies, BSTAs, scones....man, just everything.  Most of all, we're going to miss you two...however, we're not sweatin' it...we know we'll see you around.  You have our email...stay in touch, please!  (BTW James, I owe that tip jar at least $5 according to Jen/Mike and  I promise to never  walk in, order, sit down, talk with a neighbor I've never met, eat, all in my pink pajamas ever again and never knowin' it then hiding from you all for at least two weeks not knowing what happened?!

We'll always be there for you all...and "we work on 'local' (island and/or Mexican) time" always works for us!  You two busted your buns off to ALWAYS provide quality food with a laugh or joke or two.  Don't ever, ever let anyone tell you anything different (especially those that don't have a damned clue about what it takes to open a restaurant, stay consistent in quality, serve grumpy entitled folks, and still get maybe 3 hours sleep a night for the first few years....and maybe, just maybe break even!!!)  AND Girlllll...you are extremely PASSIONATE about your food (James, your art)....you may be 'gone' but you ain't...we'll see you soon!

A-l-o-h-a, Mahalo and te quiero...TJ, Ne' & Chulita (the 'dinky' dog chihuahua!)

Keeping the RATING alive.  Damn you IAN!  Ha. Had their Turkey club, and man it was like a taste of heaven.  I usually don't lke avocado in my sandwiches, but the Avacado killed it.  Absolutely amazing.  Friend of mine...Had that breakfast burrito.   I don't even know what to say, freaking JAW DROPPER.  People there are REALLY friendly, this is my ideal type of staff that I would like if I were to dine in anywhere.  My friend told me they are known for their BACON, and now I know why.  DELICIOUS.

So, thanks to yelp, I took my girlfriend in for some breakfast. What can I say, the place is great! The size of the restaurant (tiny) is part of it's charm as far as I'm concerned and it kind of forces you to get to know everyone who's in there - which I appreciate. The two running the place were extremely helpful and amiable and the food was spectacular. I had the daily special scramble and my gf had the biscuits and gravy. Both were out of this world and fresh. I really enjoyed myself at the Truck Stop and when we left we were treated to a nice scone on the house. I will definitely be back and will tell everyone about it. By the way, for those of you who don't want to tell anybody for fear of oversaturation - C'mon, let's get these people the business they deserve! If you had your own place, wouldn't you want everyone to tell one another?

I absolutely adore this place. I work really close by so I am lucky enough to be able to walk over and pick food up. I suggest calling ahead since they only have two people working the place...it takes time people! And as busy as they get, you couldn't find a friendlier couple of people in a 50 mile radius. I've only been there for lunches so far but I can't wait to try some breakfast foods. Favorite sandwiches are the moz. cheese/salami/basil sandwich and the chicken salad. Side fruit is awesome too, not just your typical trio of melon, watermelon and grape mix, you get seasonal sliced fruit! and a lot of it too! It is a bit hard to describe how to find it..but once you do, you'll come back many times!

Don't let the name fool you. This is NOT truck stop fare.We were traveling to Canada on interstate 5 and on a recommendation from some Yelp Mobile peeps they said we should hit this place for brunch. Oh Mah Gawd. The woman cooking  here does things to eggs that would make you give up sex to keep eating them. Sure sure  it may seem like your standard breakfast menu until you actually taste the food. Magical is the best and dumbest term I can come up with since I will never be the Peter M. of yelp and have the best prose known to all of mankind but this woman can make food absolutely come to life. She made me a dish called "Egg Cereal" I shit you not, it was unlike anything I had ever had before or probably will ever have again unless I decide to try and re-create it myself (not happening). I'm glad someone posted pics because it's not easily described but is it sooo good.Fresh ingredients bursting with flavor and some of the nicest people you could ever meet. It saddens me that I live so far away and there is no place I am aware of yet in the bay area that could live up to the Georgetown Truck Stop.
