Review from Shanshan W.
Norwalk, CT
It's not too bad for a bar, but for dining would be a little bit too much.
The food was fine, nothing too outstanding. It took a little bit long time to come out even there weren't many people.
They do have a full bar, and 3 TVs. I like how it looked inside, and think it is a good place for a drink if you live around there.
Nothing really stands out much. -
Review from Mike V.
Fairfield, CT
The absolute worst dining experience of my life. Food took 2 - 2.5 hours to come out. Dishes were either cold, not as described on the menu, tasted awful, consisted of bad/old cheese, and in one case, MUD filled steamed clams.
On top of it, the owner became physically and verbally abusive to me and other customers. 50-60 people in the dinging room all experienced the same thing....I have never witnessed so many upset and dissapointed diners. Never again! -

Great? I think not. Sure the bar can be fun and the bands can be decent. The food? eewwww... greasy, greasy bar food. I guess if you are sufficiently drunk, o.k.

Review from Kim B.

To paraphrase Mae West, the Georgetown Saloon may be an institution, but I'm not ready for an institution yet. The band was good but that's the only positive thing I can say. The staff said they were overbooked and it was indeed uncomfortably crammed. I can appreciate good bar food for what it is, so I played it safe and ordered a burger. 90 minutes later it arrived cooked wrong with congealed cheese and was served on cold white sandwich bread. The sweet potato fries were greasy and flavorless. Nothing great about the experience in my opinion!

I think I'm the first person to review the Saloon because it really doesn't need a review. Everyone who lives in the area knows how great it is. It's an institution. They focus on great Tex-Mex, BBQ, etc., but they have other food, as well. The drinks are great, too. It's small and can be hard to get into, especially when they have live music (which I think is almost every night). Lots of country/blues/rock bands play there. They have a great open mic night that I used to play when I lived in CT. The house band is very cool and will jam with you if you want.

Review from Terry R.
Westport, CT
Mostly a kids restaurant, except for the little bar off to the side. The food is nothing special (stay away from the deep fried greasy dishes), the range of beers is inadequate, and the management is neglectful. The staff don't even know the owner (who is female, according to the story on the menu), as they keep saying "I talked to the owner, he said...". And don't go there for the music - they cancel events without bothering to tell the staff or change the web site, so you can't count on there being entertainment if that's what you go for. Skip it unless you like a lot of noisy kids running around your table.
