I've been a patient of Dr. Kohn's for about 3 years; and Dr. Barrera's before that. But it's all Post Street Dental, and it's all good because it's quite clear that the entire office shares a level of professionalism, friendliness, and just plain fantasticality [!] that elevates them to the stratosphere in terms of dental care. i just love going in there, seeing everyone, and being treated like a god.
I have had everything from routine exams/cleaning to emergency crowns, and have always received the very best of care. [I can honestly say I have never felt one bit of pain while sitting in a chair in this office.] They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, secure, cared for, and important. Everyone in the city should have Dr. Kohn as their dentist. Every time I leave the office, as I'm going down in the elevator, I think to myself, "God, I love that place. And I really like those people; they do it right." THANK YOU GEORGE AND CREW! -

I'm a lifer. Been with George for over 10 years. One of the reasons I stay in the city. The best, and i should know after having cavities, crowns, and recently, some aesthetic dentals due to getting my two front teeth knocked out. Sure, if you need some gold grills, get yourself over to Oakland, but for the rest, see George. -

I've been going to Dr. Kohn for at least 10 years and I wish all my doctors (and their office) were this great. Dr. Kohn and his staff are incredibly skilled, friendly and considerate. They are so skilled and gentle there, I've actually fallen asleep while get a teeth cleaning! And the big plus, they are excellent at handling my insurance. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kohn and his office.

I became a patient of Dr. Kohn's after a friend's recommendation, and it made me realize how important it is to have a great dentist.
Definitely the best I've ever had, and the entire office staff is friendly and efficient. Everyone I've recommended him to has been equally impressed.
It is so hard to find great health care providers, I'm glad I found one that relieves me of anxiety. I'd still use his office even if insurance didn't cover it, an additional satisfaction indicator. -

Excellent work! After my initial consultation, check and cleaning, I decided to return to have a filling replaced as he recommended. Three hours after having the work done, I was eating dinner, oblivious to the notion that any dental work had been done... no pain, no sensitivity, perfect bite, no rough spots... everything is perfect! What's more, Dr. Kohn and his staff, Michelle and Char, are very friendly and personable. Overall, an excellent experience. I highly recommend Dr. Kohn and Post Street Dental.

I have been going to Dr. Kohn for all my dental care since relocating to San Francisco 8 years ago. My former dentist "catered to cowards" and so does Dr. Kohn! He is fantastic and I don't dread going in for anything!
The entire staff has always been helpful, courteous, and willing to assist with any issues that may arise. And his new office is REALLY cool! -

Is it possible for a dental visit to feel like a pampering spa treatment? YES! Granted I was blessed with some decent chompers, but they know how to treat em. Intelligent, witty, relaxing, fun, comfort, are just some words to describe this amazing place. iPods shuffle through great tunes while they work on your teeth (and I must admit sometimes I get so comfortable I want to nap!). I travel from the East Bay and couldn't imagine it not being worth the trek. Kudos to my usual suspects Michael, Char, Justin, Dr. Witt, and Dr. Kohn.

I really really like my dentist. I know, that's crazy. But George is great, and he hates pain. So, he makes an incredible effort to minimize the amount he inflicts on you. Seriously, he's the best!

I have been a patient of this dental office since 1988 and George Kohn is as good as a dentist gets. Their dental hygienists are very good and teeth cleaning is done with the latest equipment. I was originally a patient of Richard Barrera but he retired in 2008 and George has been super. Unlike the experience another reviewer details, the office has always been top notch about filing expense claims with Delta Dental for me. Co-payments are collected up front, but they never amount to much. My partner goes to a different dentist and we have to maintain a spreadsheet to double check the insurance billings and account balance; I have never had to do that with this office.

I've been a patient here since 2001 and this is the best dental office I have ever been. I live in Oakland and travel this far because of how great this place is. The folks working here are extremely nice. Dr. Kohn is fun to talk to, yes, he'll stop working so you can get a word in. Justin, who does most of the "dirty work", I see mostly. He is very, very gentle so much so that, at times, I found myself drowsy and almost fell asleep one time while he was scraping away. Michael the office manager and Char "the photographer" (x-rays) and all around assistant are very cool too.

What can I say that others below haven't raved about. Dr.Kohn and everyone in his practise are caring, super professional and friendly. Going there is sort of like the "Cheers" bar; everyone knows your name. Dr. Kohn takes his time to explain everything he is doing and makes sure there is no pain involved. Jason is a terrific as a hygenist who does the cleaning and Michelle is fantastic at the front desk. The only drawback is it is expensive if one is short of funds or doesn't have insurance.

Best dentist I've ever had - I was referred by a friend who's gone to George Kohn for years. Dr. Kohn takes his time to explain, and is extremely thorough on top of being a lovely guy. His office staff is superb: my friends and family couldn't believe it when I told them that not only did I know exactly what my portion of payments were *ahead* of each visit, but Michael the office manager also helped plan out all of my procedures for the year while ensuring that I stayed within my insurance limits.

I've known Dr. Kohn for many years but went to his mentor and office mate, Dr. Richard Barrera, until he passed away a year ago. Although I was very sad that I would no longer have Dr. Barrera, who was a superb dentist, I was hopeful that Dr. Kohn would fill his shoes. After several appointments, including having some fillings done, I'm delighted to say how pleased I am with Dr. Kohn. He is every bit as gentle, informative, thorough, and careful as was Dr. Barrera - and he has a great sense of humor and way with patients. I look forward to many years with him and would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a top-notch dentist.
