It was a little drive from Woodland Hills where we were for business, but well worth it. Sitting outdoors at sunset with a light ocean breeze and an amazing view of the ocean was just the beginning of a great dining experience.

I started with the Geoffrey's Caesar Salad - Grated Parmesan, Classic Caesar Dressing, and Garlic Croutons which was very good.

Others tried the Wild Mushroom Soup and Tahitian Corn Chowder which they said was very good as well.

My entrée was the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass - Pesto Potatoes, Heirloom Tomato Marmalade, and Basil Oil which just was just superb as the pairings added astounding yet distinctive flavors without over powering the fish.

The others ordered the Sautéed Day Boat Sea Scallops - Hudson valley Foie Gras Risotto, and Drizzle of Star Anise Infused Pomegranate Reduction which I tasted and it was mind-blowing as the scallops were cooked to perfection and the risotto had rich texture and just-right doneness.

Both entrée's were incredible but I enjoyed the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass a little more.

At the end, someone ordered the Chocolate Crunch Torte with Crème Anglaise and Strawberry Coulis which was unlike anything I've ever tasted. The chocolate was rich and thick and the bottom crunch really added a different texture to your palate.  This was just heavenly!

A great dining experience on all levels - ambiance, selection, service, and price.

My husband and I went up here for lunch today.  After reading reviews, I was a little worried that we'd be under-dressed in our casual attire (jeans & collar shirt/blouse) but most people were dressed similarly.  The valet and the hostesses were swift & gracious.  We had a reservation and they seated us right away at a terrific table against the rail, with an unobstructed view of the ocean.

The place was pretty packed, even at 2:30pm on a Thursday.  Between the waves below and the waterfall behind us, we were surrounded by the sound of water which drowned out the subtle hum of other conversations in the busy restaurant.  Under tables near us, we noticed there were a couple of well-mannered dogs sitting by their humans' feet.  The waitstaff were attentive without hovering.  At the end of the meal, there seemed to be a lag while waiting for our check but it gave us a little more time to gaze out at the ocean.

The food was excellent.  We started with the oysters, then my husband had a seared tuna salad while I opted for the chicken piccata.  Both meals were bigger than they needed to be, but absolutely delicious.  I'm also glad I tried their coconut cocktail (Cocotini?), even at lunch.  I love coconut anything, so I couldn't resist.  Luckily, I found it to be refreshing on a warm day and definitely light enough for lunch.  I don't drink much, if ever, so I really appreciated that!

Oh, and the cappuccino here (on this day, anyway) has about 2 inches of airy foam. I usually prefer a thicker foam, but forgot to ask them to make it with full-fat milk to get this result.  Still a good cappuccino, though!

One more thing.  Keep in mind that the $6 valet charge is automatically added to your bill so you need only the valet's gratuity when retrieving your vehicle, if you choose to valet park.

Not sure how I missed reviewing this place if been here twice. Well, let's see if writing more reviews will make me a Elite member.

This place is great. Ask to be seated by the balcony so you can have ocean view. Then order mojitos and beet salad with goat cheese.

Order some more mojitos and then get the paella. Life doesn't get any better. Desserts are okay but not memorable. One thing I have to mention is the Valet parking guys have driving skills like a Nascar racer.

    Salute

My boyfriend took me to the restaurant last night on a whim as a surprise, and it was the most romantic place! We sat out side on the patio and over looked the ocean. the stars looked beautiful and the sound of the ocean while we were enjoying our amazing food.
The server was very sweet and professional and made our evening that much more amazing

Out for a drive with the hubby we decided this was where we were going to stop.  Upon driving in to the driveway I was a little nervous since we didn't have a reservation and there were some very very nice cars being valet parked.  We decided to give it a try anyway and we were in luck! They did indeed have a table for us and it was not stashed away in the back! (I would recommend making a reservation however just in case)

Sitting with an amazing view of the ocean was just the beginning.  A D-lish spicy bloody mary and a wonderful old fashioned led us off to a perfect Sunday lunch.

Ahi Tuna Tartar : Avocado, Scallions, Ginger, Red Onions, Wonton Crisp, Tobieko Caviar

You have to start with this dish if you like tuna!  Fresh and light and d-lish.  The wonton crisps were a delight but not even necessary for this fresh way to start off a meal.

Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass : Pesto Potatoes, Heirloom Tomato Marmalade, Basil Oil

This is one of my all time favorite dishes.  The fish was cooked to perfection and the accouterments were perfect.  By themselves they tasted amazing but paired with the fish in the perfect bite they added amazing flavors without over powering the fish.

Sautéed Day Boat Sea Scallops : Hudson valley Foie Gras Risotto, Drizzle of Star Anise Infused Pomegranate Reduction

If you like scallops you HAVE to order this dish.  They are cooked in a way that allows the natural sweetness of scallops to come out and be enjoyed.  The risotto is to die for and you will want to pick up the plate and lick it but this is not that kind of place.

We ended the meal with a cheesecake that seriously took my breath away.  I savored every bite and if you like espresso it is o so yummy with this desert.

Sigh....  I am absolutely heading back here for a romantic amazing experience!

Came here for New Year's day brunch with a group of friends.  Valet parking is the only parking (but fine by me).

AMAZING view of the water.  This is really the highlight of this place.

The bloody mary's were pretty tasty and spicy, which was a nice departure from the watery mess at so many places.

The food was pretty good as well.

Obviously the one downside is the price -- you are definitely paying for the view and the experience as an added premium to the quality/quantity of food served.

Would I come back regularly? Nope, but certainly a nice place to come occasionally and enjoy a great day with great weather and a great view.

    1. You can park on the highway or valet park for $6 (the valet will park half the cars on the highway anyway).
    2. I am not a fan of the paella. It tastes like the rice is oven baked, then added to the broth. Is paella supposed to be soup? The broth is good, but just didn't expect a soup.
    3. We asked for a nice view to enjoy our anniversary, and the restaurant delivered. Thanks!
    4. They put a birthday candle in our creme brulee - on our anniversary. Ooops! So we played along and blew out the birthday candle on our dessert and tried to pretend it wasn't as silly as it was. The creme brulee was perfection.

I went here recently for my graduation dinner, and overall we had a really nice time, despite how long it took us to get here from West Hollywood.  We started off withe caesar salad, the popcorn shrimp, and some other small appetizers. The portions were fairly large enough to share the caesar salads.  For dinner, I had the seared tuna, which was also a fairly large portion, so I couldn't finish it.  For dessert, we tried to apple crumb brown betty, which was also very good.  My only complaints about this place, besides how far down PCH it is, is the parking situation.  There was only one attendant valeting cars, and they could have used more to help get things moving along.  But overall, the atmosphere was amazing, as the restaurant is right on the water.  Great place for special occasions, as it is a bit pricey.

Came here for Easter brunch & had the prix dice menu.

Had the lobster & scallop ceviche appetizer, scallop entree & chocolate hazelnut dessert. I would highly recommend all three!

Also had the raspberry lemondrop martini, pear purée martini, strawberry daiquiri martini, & a coffee/Kahulua/amaretto dessert cocktail. All of the drinks were really smooth & delicious.

Our waitress was sweet & made good recommendations.

I'll have to come back and try the regular menu. The beautiful view doesn't hurt either.

Went there over the weekend, strongly recommend the  sea scallops and Bloody Mary. The beautiful ocean  view really make this a fantastic place to eat.  However, try and go on a nice, warm, clear, sunny day.

A friend of mine ordered the mojito and it was also very good. The place is a bit pricey but worth the splurge once in a great while.

    Geoffrey's Malibu.

    I. Love. You!

You have helped me impress my hot date and you have clearly satisfied my steak and seafood cravings.

Advices for future hopeless romantics that want to impress your hot date.

    * call ahead and make a reservation for the outside patio along the rails. Make sure you say you want a clear view of the sunset depending on what time the sun does set. Ask them when the sun is setting and double check it with weather forecast lol.

    * I Recommend *
Ahi Tuna Tartar -  It was SOoOoOO GOOD!
Lobster Scallop CEViCHE  - Delicious!! She really loved this one
She got the 2 lb Lobster - They serve the lobster with the shell already taken out so you don't really have to work at it, along with bread, mash potatoes and vegetables underneath the lobster.

I got the Kobe N.Y. Steak - I like Kobe Bryant. I love the KOBE STEAK. - Served Medium with fries and Spinach salad.

For drinks, she got Raspberry Mojito - It was okay.
I got the Ocean Breeze - Too Much Coconut flavor but it was okay.

For dessert ( if you can make it to dessert, we were pretty full )
We got the Apple Crisp Tart with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream on top

Valet is 6 dollars but included in the check.

Total bill for what we got is about $211 without tip included.

I wanted to give 5 stars but my waitress... She wasn't really attentive with us. I asked for another serving of bread and butter but that took forever to come when I noticed there is a guy with a bread basket... I asked for ketchup for my fries and THAT also took so long, I didn't even want to eat my fries anymore.

.... Come on... It's just Ketchup and Bread...

But my date loved this place and I loved the fact that she loved it too.
Will definitely come here again. I'll bring my own ketchup packet next time though.

    P.S.
I didn't know there are stairs that lead down to the beach but next time I'll definitely take advantage of that!

    See you again Geoffrey's!!!

I really wanted to leave 5 stars because this place was really, really really great.

We came here for Valentines day, the couple next to our table actually got engaged right there... the guy proposed and she said yes. Quite a moment. :)

    Yes beautiful ocean view
    Yes perfect service
Yes the food was amazing also... What I really loved, lobster bisque, leg of lamb and berry cheesecake.

Why 4 stars? 1)We arrived on time but was not seated timely, not too big of deal, I understand they are busy on Valentines day, however, 2) One bartender was so incredibly rude. While we were waiting for our table to be ready, I wanted to get a drink. How was he rude? Just the way he handed us the drink menu, and then took forever to take our drink order, and then gave us the check all in a super unfriendly, dismissive manner. I was actually getting really upset before we sat down at our table, at that point I was thinking, 2 stars. But since the whole dinner experience was wonderful, geoffrey was able to redeem itself.

Oh, the pear martini I got was not very good either.

In sum I'd like to come back but I think I will stay away from the bar area this time.

I always come here for brunches (serve Saturdays and Sundays) because my lunch hour limits me to one hour on a weekday and items on the brunch menu is cheaper than the dinner menu.

First of all, the view is beautiful on a sunny day!  I didn't have to wait 99% of the time and was always seated outside (I usually got there after 2:30pm).  Don't worry if outside is not warm enough for you, they will be happy to turn on the heat lamp.  Parking is valet but I have seen people park on the street.

I always start with a mojito because they make one of the best mojitos here!  I have tried many dishes, some of my favorites are baked brie, mushroom soup, corn chowder and seafood paella.  My MUST-ORDER dishes are the crab cakes and sea scallop!  Crab cake is filled with crab meat with little to no filler.  Also, the sauce is there to enhance the dish, not to overpower the dish.  You can actually taste the sweet taste of the crab!  If you are sharing other appetizers, you can order this as your main course and it will stuff you enough.  The sea scallops dish is always cooked to perfection.  They are never come out overcooked once.  The risotto is on the al dente side.

Conclusions: Food has been consistently great here.  The mesmerizing ocean view and delicious mojito are bonuses and really elevate the whole experience.  Geoffrey's Malibu is really as good as it gets!

We, a party of 3, went to Geoffrey's Malibu for Mother's Day Brunch.  Beautiful view, drinks were pretty good, but the food was terrible from beginning to end.  I don't think the cook ever heard of seasoning.  The food was bland and just did not taste good.  We started with the ceviche, there was barely any seafood in it , and it was bland.  We thought it would get better with the entree, but it was worse.  I had the scallops which were under done and raw in the middle.  My son & daughter had the filet mignon.  It was horrible -- dry and overcooked with no flavor, and dessert was just as bad.  The cheesecake was runny and mushy and definitely tasted nothing like cheesecake -- the consistency was all wrong, and the chocolate "whatever it was supposed to be" was just nasty.  Do yourself a favor and save your money.  At over $100 per person with drinks, they should be arrested for Pacific Coast Highway robbery.

The biggest draw to Geoffrey's is the view. It is fantastic. Situated on a cliff in Malibu, the restaurant features an obstructed view of the Pacific coastline. The view can be overwhelming.

The menu is largely seafood, but has a good selection of meats (kobe steaks). The waiter recommended the sea bass and indicated that it is a favorite. While I did not have the sea bass, the company that I was with indicated that it was good, but not exceptional. I had the seafood paella. I actually found it to be quite delicious and not salty, which I normally do. The shrimp, scallops, mussells and clams were cooked to perfection and there was the right amount of broth.

The price of the food seemed to be on the high side considering the quality if the food and level of service. This is not to say the food wasn't good or the service was bad by any stretch of the imagination. Both were good, but not spectacular. Clearly you are paying for the view more than anything else. If you want a romantic experience, this would be one of my first considerations.

    Impressions from A-Z :

I really wanted to impress my girlfriend by choosing a really nice restaurant with ocean views in Malibu so I found this place through yelp.

I called a day before to make a reservation to reserve a table for two by the rail as I read reviews here suggesting to reserve tables by the rail. I wanted to make a reservation for 6:30PM to see the whole sunset, but I was told that they're fully booked for 6:30PM and the next reservation is available at 7PM and 8PM. Obviously I got one for 7PM.

We came there at 6:15PM and I let them know that I'm here and I have a reservation for 7PM and I asked them to let me know as soon as they have available table by the rail. They told me for some reason they can't get me a table by the rail, but they could let me in earlier. Okay......

We got a table somewhere by the mirror. The place is actually nice with a nice atmosphere (Could probably be better with the table I reserved but whatever). I liked the views almost as I expected. I ordered Seafood Paella and my girlfriend ordered Caesars salad, I believe mushroom soup and some kind of shrimp. Really not much to choose from alcohol menu. I asked if they have Tennessee Squirrel cocktail, waitress and bartenders didn't even know what that is. Then I asked for something sweet and strong. They brought something really not sweet and not strong. I can't remember what kind of cocktail my girlfriend ordered but hers was a lot better.

Finally food is here. I really liked my Seafood Paella, my girlfriend liked the mushroom soup (I tried it as well and it is good). Her shrimp was good, but when she got her salad, she only had cabbage with cheese in it and nothing else. She asked the waitress if she's sure it's a Caesars salad, waitress said yes. P.S. My girlfriend eats caesars salad pretty often in different places and she knows what should be in it. She told me this salad is not worth the money they charge for it at all. (Waitress was really nice though and offered to add tomatoes in it or anything else).

I expected a little better from this place with the prices they have.
It's good for dates/events to enjoy the atmosphere.
Today it's a 3 star. Maybe will be better next time.

One of my favorite restaurants on Earth. This is where I'd want to enjoy my last dinner, 90 minutes before sunset.

Breaktaking views of Santa Monica Bay and the ocean, great food, romantic use of fire, and decent service. Nothing over the top, just very relaxing and wonderful.

The brie with pears is always a favorite, the spinach salad with candied walnuts and Humboldt fog cheese is a great snack, and the seafood is generally good. The food may be somewhat uninspired but the stunning setting more than makes up for it.

Pro-tip: Park on the side of PCH rather than in their lot. The very steep incline and small area make it a big hassle getting out.

Also, because of the outdoor waterfront setting, bring a light jacket or sweater even in the summer.

I took my boyfriend here for a birthday dinner. The view was lovely! It was our first time dining here and we were definitely pleased. I was afraid it would be a too cold since we were seated outdoors  but they were prepared with heat lamps, it was great. The patio overlooks the ocean, it is romantic and a great place for a date.

Service: good, we were promptly checked on and the staff was  timely. The vibe was relaxed and there was no rush.

Food: We started with an appetizer; the Baked Brie in Puff Pastry, EXCELLENT! It was simply delicious. Next up was the Golden Beet Salad with Herbed Goat Cheese, I personally  prefer red beets, but the salad was fresh and the goat cheese made it better. And now for the main course! I had the Slow Braised Kobe Wagyu Beef, unfortunately, I was mostly full by the time we got our entree! I ate very little of it, but it was I had was delicious, the meat was tender; I did not need a knife to eat it! My boyfriend had the Grilled Filet Mignon; I had a bite and it was the most Fantastic filet Mignon! The flavor was exquisite. It made me wish I ordered!  We ended with the cheesecake, it was not bad, but we were not impressed, we have definitely had better cheesecake elsewhere. Overall, a great meal.

Would I go back? Yes! Absolutely.

    Bon Appétit!

Five stars. Came here for my birthday dinner, and I could not have been more pleased.

Crab cakes: very solid, light fry, and not too heavy.

Ceviche: So good! The ceviche had a sweetness to it that was excellent, and the lobster and other fish were so fresh.

Scallop salad: The scallops were the best I've ever tasted. Too bad only three came with the salad... But hey - it's a salad.

Sea bass: It's been a long time since I've had sea bass, and this did not disappoint. The pesto mashed potatoes are also delicious.

Filet mignon: We asked for it medium, and it definitely came out med-rare - but I didn't mind. The cut was so good, it did just fine.

The setting was incredibly beautiful, and the layout of the restaurant itself is something to behold.

The service was excellent. We were well attended to, and we were given time between each dish to relax and enjoy the stars.

Too bad we didn't get the sunset this time, but we'll be back for more!

Best Lobster Bisque I have ever had. If you want to have a romantic date, arrange to sit  with a view of the ocean outdoors at Geoffrey's. It's classic malibu style, with simple but quality food.
Be prepared for the odd parking.  I advise the women to watch the type of shoes they will walk in as this resttaurant is located on a slope, and the driveway is awfully cobbly!

The food is delicious too! I asked the server what she recommended and she insisted that I have the burger, because of how hungry I was.  Man, was she right. Delicious!

Came here for my wife's birthday dinner. It is definitely a once in a awhile thing since the prices are so high. However, the experience and view are worth it. We did come after it was dark, so the tables were not in high demand so we got one right on the glass railing. Even though it was dark, you could still see the waves crashing and up and down the coast. It was clear out so the stars were pretty amazing as well.

The service was a bit slow, but very friendly. We had the ceviche appetizer which was delicious. A bit small, but you'll want to keep it light since the main course is so great and filling. I had the surf and turf of course. At $78, it is pricey, but you get 2 pounds of lobster and a petite steak. The combo was amazing and the lobster is prepared in a delicious vanilla sauce. They also do all the work for you so you re just eating lobster, not getting messy.

Valet is only $6 and this place truly has that special vibe. Enjoy!

Just wonderful. Great service. Amazing view. Our favorite place to go for a Special occasion. A little pricey, but for special occasions, it can't be beat.

Rotten experience at Easter Brunch. We made reservations 2 months ago...they overbooked and we had to wait 1/2 hour. They did not honor our request for outside seating. Phony "Happy Easter" greeting from punk kid host & hostess and unprofessional, lazy waitress, who then disappeared unless called. Food was not good, only minimally average. Attitude from valet only served to make the day worse.

Came here for New Year's Day brunch.  The view was unreal.  On a nice day, you'd be crazy not to sit outside since it's right on a cliff overlooking the Pacific.  It was absolutely gorgeous.

The food, from what I recall, was good but I wasn't blown away.  I got the crab cake benedict, which came with fresh fruit and baby red potatoes.  Good, but not so amazing to be that memorable.  They do make a mean (and spicy) bloody mary though (not watery).  I had some sweet sex on the beach type cocktail too, which I have no idea why I ordered because I really don't like sweet drinks, but I think the 80 degree sunny day was making me feel tropical.

Overall, I'd probably take a visitor here on a nice day but wouldn't rush back to go again myself.  It's definitely worth the trip and cash on a beautiful day.

This ocean front restaurant is great for a date.  The service is very friendly most of the time - I did once see the hostess treat a couple very rudely when they asked to be seated at a table with a view - even though there were several empty tables.

The food is good (not great) but the type of good when combined with the location brings me there again and again.

    The drinks are good.

Perfect place for brunch on a warm sunny day.

Definitely a place to visit at least once.

Best view I've seen so far in Malibu. This restaurant has the perfect location. When I finally meet a special girl here in LA I will probably take her here for a romantic setting. The sunset is beautiful from this patio.
The food is great and the service is excellent. No one was in a rush here and I felt free to relax and enjoy my time and my meal.

Beautiful place with a great view, good food and service. What more can I ask for?? Some of my fav things here is the seafood ceviche, the chicken piccata, and the baked brie. One of my favorite places for sunday brunch.

    Overall: 4.5!

    The food was pretty great!

and the service WAS AMAZING!!!! they were very accommodating for our very large group. the portions were large and very good. (I would rate their food 4 stars, service 5 stars).

    valet parking is $6

dress is casual dressy to kind of semi-formal, depending on the occasion, mostly dressy casual with some people wearing nice jeans. Very good bar.

Not sure about price because I didn't see the check though I assume its pretty pricey.

Try to come here about 5:30ish or so so you can admire the ocean and see the sunset :)

Well, if you want to enjoy the beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean enroute to eat some good food, I reccomend Geoffrey's. I went this past Saturday for the first time solely on the reviews & pictures from other YELP'STERS. I was hesitant to go since it was almost an hour drive with the crazy Los Angeles traffic but PCH made it that much more enjoyable.

We were immediately seated by the manager who welcomed us at the front desk. His reccomendations were the scallops on a bed Rissotto with coconut shrimp as an appetizer... If you want to go with your family, friends or a date, I highly reccomend it. Its not cheap BUT you get what you pay for here at this restraunt... Breathtaking. Felt as if I was in another country since it sits on a cliff with nothing but the oceans views.

Dont be scared to take a stroll down the beach after you've satisfied your palet. Also, if you think its going to be cold. Well, it can so come prepared just incase. However, they are well equipped with heat lamps that were immediately turned on once it started getting chilly to take care of their guests... I would most definitely come back...

    Scallops Meal $30
Lemonade ($6) each (WAY TOO MUCH)
    Matini $13
    Steak $30+
    Creme Brulee ($10+) but mmmmmmm

Walked out paying $150+ for two BUT remember, you pay for what you get in service, BEAUTIFUL views, food.. thumbs up
