Micro Japan, seriously. If you ever tried Sophie's Crepes in Japan Town, this place is almost as good, but with a better location smaller lines, and a more reasonable price. I tried the crepe with strawberries, whip cream, and nuetella - definitely recommend, esp with Ice Cream if you can handle all of that (will probably set you back $6, $8 with ice cream compared to 2-3 dollars more at Sophie's).
They even have all of those asian candies and drinks that you can only find at either Ranch 99 or a small asian market, pretty cool. It was funny seeing people's reaction when we walked back to our car eating the crepe, it must have some type of enchantment because everyone was staring like they were going to steal it.
Be still my heart! I love love love Genki! OOooo wWeee!!!
WHAT IVE HAD: nutella and strawberry crepe, green tea with lychee crepe, nutella with vanilla ice cream and banana crepe
LOVE: the fact that you can shop around and buy asian candies, yan yan dip, poke sticks with almonds, etc. while you wait for THE best dessert crepe that always hits the spot! Love that they shape the crepe in a paper cone so that you can eat it on the go!
A great place crepes, this place has a wide variety of crepes and other delicious treats. They also have a very wide assortment of imported Asian candies and drinks, so if you're into that stuff, this is definitely the place for you. I usually get a dessert crepe here whenever I finish eating dinner some place next door. I highly recommend Genki.
After reading rave reviews of this place and being teased by all the crepe goodness it holds, I finally forced my bf to try this place. By golly, you guys were right on!
We ordered a Strawberry & Whip Cream and a Cheesecake w/ Whip Cream & Blueberry sauce. You can pretty much guess which one was mines. All that cheesecake goodness! *drool* *nom nom* There goes several hours of workout for me. The place is a mini-mart of Japanese goodies and nifty useless Japanese concoctions. Mmmm...Pocari Sweat!!
What else can I say that 370+ reviews haven't already said about this place! I will definitely be coming back!
4.5 stars.

I'm probably basing this on my FIRST experience here and nothing more. It was sweet. Delicious. Memorable. And filled with strawberries =) Yum.
They've been getting it wrong all these years serving ice cream in cones, ice cream should ALWAYS be served in crepes.
As I was walking down Clement Street this weekend the delicious sweet smell of crepes drew me to Genki. I steered clear of the savory crepes (although they all sounded pretty solid) and went straight for the real deal, the sweets crepes. All the options sounded amazing and I had a pretty hard time making my decision...nutella & banana? strawberry & whipped cream? mixed fruit & nutella?.
In the end though, the answer was clear: ice cream, the perfect filling. I chose the mango ice cream and fresh strawberry option. Perfection! The crepe was crunchy on the edges and chewy on the inside...it was filled with smooth mango ice cream, large strawberry halves and whipped cream. I pretty much devoured it before I even completed the four block walk back to my sisters house.
The crepes are HUGE and conveniently folded and packaged, a very travel friendly meal perfect for professional spillers like me. You pretty much get two things for the price of one here, $4.50 gets you a delicious crepe AND a huge scoop of ice cream (+ fruit and whip cream).
Honestly you can't go wrong with these crepes, I also tried the my friends cheese crepe and her banana and nutella crepe, both were very tasty, not quite so bomb as my ice cream crepe though. The only thing that kind of sucks is that the only seating area consists of two small benches by the door. Who needs to sit and eat though, these crepes are probably like a million calories...I agree with Laura L., I'd rather walk and try to burn off some of those calories...

Came here one night after a friend's birthday dinner, but didn't get anything. Boy, did I regret it as we were walking back to the car and everyone had a crepe but moi!
So of course, when I had the opportunity to go again, I jumped at the chance! The crepes were crunchy and the ice cream (which seems Polly Ann-esque) was a nice contrast to the crunchiness. While waiting for my crepe to be made, I was wandering through the aisles and they carry so many different kinds of Asian goodies. I found some green milk tea candy that I've been looking for since FOREVER! Now, I know where I can find it, and I'll grab a crepe while I'm at it!
I LOVE GENKI! I had the a sweet crepe with vanilla ice cream and fresh mangos. I loved it. It was so good. I wanna go back and try other types. It was delicious exactly what a crepe should taste like. :)

Cute place for a little after dinner indulgence. There have a wide selection of crepes that they can make for you and the store also offers a lot of cute snacks and stuff from japan. They have a few small tables you can sit and eat at but during the evening hours, it can get pretty packed.
I ordered a number 18, which is chicken, cheese, green onions, and sweet chilli sauce crepe for $5.50.
I did not enjoy it that much because it tasted bland and boring.
I also ate the Checkered Sundae. Which is chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, sliced bananas, whipped cream, and Hershey's chocolate syrup. It was $4.95.
It tasted delicious.
I don't really like this place because there is really no place to enjoy the food. There are benches available to sit on, but I rather sit at a table. It usually is too cold to sit outside and when you sit inside, it can get crowded.

Genki is a compact shop carrying a smorgasbord of mostly Japanese products. The mini mart takes up the greater portion of the store with everything from surprise box toys to beauty care products and MSG filled snacks.
I've always just come in here for a quick cold drink from their fridge or to grab some Japanese candies and snacks. Now after perusing their site and plethora of crepe making options, I shall have to wo-man up and indulge in one on my next visit.
Of course, all that walking burns off the calories anyway, right?
I'd like to think so.

Crepes here are okay, but they are not the reason why I go to Genki. I go to replenish my junk food stash. Although, I can finally find the same goodies elsewhere for a cheaper price, Genki is a great place to go to when it's late at night.
a pigeon that had been lurking around inside this joint flew on to my crepe as it was being made. Homeboy making the crepe caught it with his bare hands hand threw it out the door. Then he went back to making my crepe. I got the hell out of this place asap. no refund requested no questions asked this was just plain nasty.

Pretty tasty ice cream concoctions.
I think the crepes themselves are a bit on the thick and tasteless side, however....And, it'd be nice to get something other than Hershey's chocolate syrup for the chocolate sauce.
Otherwise, a lot of interesting choices
Strawberry and nutella crepe. I thought it was going to be like Crepes on Haight or something, but the crepe was crunchy and thin all folded up into a nice wedge, for our walk down clement st.
Kawaii!
I'd give a definite 2 thumbs up for Genki Crepes (unfortunately, my thumbs are occupied because I was double fisting my crepes - yes, that's right double fisting!)
I had the Tomato, Corn & Cheese Crepe, my cousin had the Spinach, Mushroom, Cheese crepe. We then both shared the Nutella, Fresh Strawberries, Whipped Cream Crepe. All were excellent, tasty, fresh, affordable and easy! I only wish more friends/family were with us so I could try every item on the colorful menu.
Minus one star for the slow service - I understand it was busy for a Monday night, but must the male cashier flirt with a scantily clad girl trying to get him to comp the whipped cream topping on her freakin' ice cream cone? Step aside and let ME pay for the extra 0.75 - it's worth having to avoid holding up the entire line and saving the cashier from the crushing disappointment when he realizes she's a lesbian.

Pretty good. Not bad. 3.5 stars.
Tried the savory crepes on one trip. Pretty good, but wanted it to be more flavorful. The next time we went, we had the egg puff in original vanilla flavor. Again, wanted something more. Wanted it to be sweeter.
Oh well. It is cheap food(recession food!) and fast service. Cute asian snacks and knick-knacks.
They also have limited ice cream flavors and a cooler full of all sorts of asian drinks and Pellegrino.

Went here after a long night of Inner Richmond bar crawling and after a Scorpion bowl, beers, Tommy's Margs, and goodness knows what else this place was orgasmic. Now that I have had time to process said events I can safely say this place is the bomb....but not nearly as good as Ti Couz (however that being said they are quite different in style).
I had a savory crepe with ham, egg, and cheese, but the sweet crepes looked amazing. This crepe is stuffed in such a way that you employ a fork to dig out the goods, leaving you a seasoned crepe to pick apart after the fact.
Not only was I able to eat a yummy late night treat, but I was also able to walk the aisles checking out the unique Japanese candies. This is a perfect light lunch or late night alcohol soaker...:)
mmmmmmm Genki crepes...love the ham, cheese & tomato crepe...mmmmmmm
This is a cute little shop on Clement Street and smells really good when you walk in. There are other items on their menu board such as egg puffs and tapioca drinks but I haven't tried them yet. After you place your order you can stroll around their store and check out their snacks and Sanrio type products on display. They also have a couple of benches on the inside and out for waiting or munching.
I hate you, Genki Crepes.
I hate you for carrying all of these yummy Asian snackies that I love to love to love ya, love ya (Pocky, Tomato Pretz, and Hotate flavored crackers!!).
I hate you for making fresh, delicious crepes including ice cream deliciousness with fruit or the even more wicked Blueberry Cheesecake crepe (it's like sin wrapped in carbs).
I hate you for your yummy yummy Yakult.
I hate you for having tons of porn-looking anime figurines and other assorted miniatures for sale.
I hate you for your super-kawaii Hello Kitty Sanrio surprises section.
I hate you for staying open late so I can even come visit you when I'm drunk after an evening at the Rockit Room.
I wish I knew how to quit you.

Best crepes in the city! This definitely beats the crepes at Japantown! I will always depend on Genki Crepes to satisfy my sweet cravings. Nutella...strawberry icecream....strawberries...Yummy! :)
Mmmm. boy, do i love me some peanut butter egg puffs, chocolate pocky and crepes filled with nutella, banana, and strawberries! and what better place to get them than at Genki Crepes? i love the fact that I can run around the store looking at miniature plastic foods and weird dried squid as I wait for all my order to be ready.

Great place, very quick! The convienence of the mini mart allows you to walk around past time by as you wait for your crepe to be done. They are pretty generous with servings.
The crepes are wonderful. They are on par with Sophie's. This style of crepes is just like the ones I use to get on the streets of Paris. Hand held, very thin, slightly crispy. Do not give money to the vendors that server spongy, mushy, pancake like things they try to pass off as crepes.
I'm a simple girl - with simple tastes and this place has the best Strawberries & Whip Cream Crepe ever! Ok I'll be honest I'd never had a crepe before Genki, but I still know what good is and that's Genki! It's a nice treat to split with someone after dinner on Clement Street. Lines are normally long - prices are very reasonable - worth the wait. Don't go crazy on the Nutella crepes - because I've seen them scoop spatulas full of that stuff all over - healthy snack my ass! Stick with the light stuff - they of course don't go as crazy with the fruit but it is still good! Fun store with lots of Asian candies to keep you busy looking while you wait for your crepe.
My friends call the egg puffs crack. We are on a downward spiral. We huddle on the corner sampling personal favorites: for me, peanut, for M, coconut, for R, coffee, for M, chocolate. We polish off whole dime bags and immediately stake out our next fix.
And when the warm flavored pancake dough runs out, there's always fish jerky and Japanese-clad Snoopy figurines to be had.
Egg puffs, man. Gimme gimme gimme! Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh...tilt head back, close eyes, submit...

Wonderfully-tasting crepes! If you're into savory, get the chicken, cheese (swiss), and green onion crepe. The sauce that they put in it (sweet chili sauce, not spicy don't worry) makes the taste wonderfully delicious and unique.
I've only had the vanilla ice cream with red bean crepe. It was declious, but I'm sure they all are.
It's part of a japanese snack store, so you can pick up a bunch of snacks as well! I recommend getting the aloe drink with the chicken crepe. That really hit the spot for me
Damn I wish I were in SF right now
Yummy crepes, but not so yummy egg puffs. The egg puffs totally pale in comparison to those from Eggettes in South SF. The moment I went to grab a piece from the bag, the entire thing was crumbling at my every touch! That's a sure sign that they were overcooked. And the texture of the egg puffs was way too dry and cakey. None of that chewy goodness that egg puffs are supposed to have. What a disappointment.
I'd only come here for the crepes, and all of the enticing Japanese snacks you are tempted to buy while you're waiting for your dessert.
Crepes = delicious and crispy and warm.
Filling = savory or sweet, your choice. I prefer the lychee ice cream with fruit and some whipped cream. Other times, I stick with nutella and whipped cream. :-)
Service = friendly.
This place is kind of like a Japanese convenience store though...while you wait for the crepes...you can browse through their selection of Japanese food, drinks, toys and household necessities.
Not much of seating indoors, so go sit outside, or walk around Clement with your food. :-) Or ask for a take-out box...

I've NEVER had a crepe before. I tried Genki and was amazed. Nutella, strawberries, ice cream... The thing is huge also. The store is a little market too. Pretty busy on a Wednesday night when I went. But if you're craving something delicious and sweet I'd recommend this place.

As if you don't already wonder why there's a crowd, the scent alone draws you in already! They offer all kinds of crepes, from dessert to snacks to savory. Their savory snacks are a bit pricey, I think, for what you get...we ordered a smoked salmon and cream cheese and a spinach and mushroom....they both came out kinda thin and small. I guess we expected thicker and chunkier...(just like crepevine does theirs). Their dessert crepes, however, rocks! We had nutella, vanilla ice cream and added cheesecake as extra...YUMMY..and HUGE!
You can pass the time, while you wait for your crepes, smelling the different types of air fresheners they sell, or the 20 million sanrio dolls they have for your car. :P I wonder if people actually buy their grocery stuff....
Genki Crepes is berry berry good. Fresh fruits and fresh ingredients make it a place to come back to. I have yet to try one of their savory crepes, and had only eaten ice cream dessert crepes. Next time i'll try their egg puff also. Genki crepe not only serves crepes, but also has an array of other snacks you can purchase. The only downside of genki crepes is that sometimes birds fly in and get trapped and fall onto the cooking area...they are quick to clean up the area though.
The azuki bean paste crepe is SO GOOD. It's not too sweet, and it's healthy compared to the other sweet crepes. I tried the nutella with banana and strawberries - really good as well. The store also has a lot of Asian snacks, such as Pocky and all that good stuff. I wish the place had places for us to sit though.
Parking is the only thing that bugs me when i come here. Me and the boyfriend usually get the strawberry banana with vanilla ice cream crepe. We havent been here for a while but I'm sure it's still prett damn good. You can tell by all the reviews! =)

Crepes are yummy here too, but I like Sophie's crepes best still.
Red bean paste crepe with green tea icecream....solid 5 star.
The crepe is soooooo crispy, all the way to the last bite with melted ice cream, not at all soggy, which is pretty amazing. At first, I was wondering why the crepe was already cold when I took the first bite, I saw them make it there, while wandering around the little cute shop. But then I soon realized that they actually are so thoughtful that for the ones with ice-cream, they let the crepe cool down a little bit so the ice-cream doesn't melt right away because of the hot crepe. And the red bean paste and green tea ice cream is the best combination. Can't go wrong with the two most essential ingredients in Japanese sweets.
One more start for having this specific milk tea drink that my bf has been looking for for so long. None of the asian markets carry it, but Genki does. Yay!

I am giving Genki 4 out of 5 stars just because I have only eaten here once and I feel that I would need to go one more time to be convinced that it is the best crepe joint in the city. Believe me, I will surely be coming back for more! I had a delicious strawberry nutella crepe that filled my stomach up quickly. For a quick, sugary, bite to eat, you must stop by!
This place is super cute. If I lived closer, I'd probably go more.
I got the egg puff, I remember the first time I got them. I was visiting family in Hong Kong and I could smell it down the block. We got them fresh and it was so delicious.
It was not as good as that, but still tasty. My gf got the crepe with Lychee ice cream and bananas. She didn't talk until after it was gone. I could tell she loved it.
She was also excited because they had this milk tea in a bottle that she got when she was in Japan.
Overall, it's just a fun store with tasty treats.

i love the crepes at this place. the cheesecake crepe with whip cream and blueberry sauce is a must try. the strawberry egg puffs are delicious too!
i would pass on the boba drinks though. they're mediocre.. if you're really in the mood for some boba try quickly across the street or one of the many asian places in the area.
Dropped by for dessert and ordered a crepe with fruit and ice cream. Had to wait about 10mins before getting it. The ice cream was okay. There wasn't much fruit....like four thin half slices of kiwi which equals to two thin whole slices. As for the crepe itself, it was golden crispy which was good but it was also quite salty which I didnt like. I give them a three for mediocre.
