Genesis is awesome. I've taken three boot camps here (two at the capitol hill location and one in lodo), and I have absolutely loved all of them. I should preface this by saying, I don't love Genesis because their work outs are fun, I love Genesis because their work outs are fucking hard.  I have never once left a class not saturated with sweat and not wobbly from working my butt off.

The instructors here make sure you are trying your hardest by motivating you through encouragement, humor, and tough love.  Additionally, you really are held accountable to show up to each and every class, which is fantastic, because you certainly won't see results if you stay home every other day.

My only gripe with Genesis would be the cost. Working out here is not cheap. In fact, it can be prohibitively expensive. If it were not for the steep prices, I would enroll in classes much, much more often.

I'll just attribute the lack of reviews to the fact that Yelp hasn't really caught fire yet in Denver. Genesis Fitness is far and away my FAVORITE way to exercise! I took a Power Camp at the DTC location about a year ago before I moved to San Fran, and was instantly hooked. The instructors are all knowledgeable, motivating and approachable. I only took three weeks of the class, but I've never lost weight so quickly or felt so healthy. Yes, the class is hard, but it's only an hour and then you're done with your workout for the day. I prefer the Power Camp because it's in doors, but you still get a lot of cardio in because of the treadmills. Usually, the class is split into half and you just switch between the treadmills and free weights in the center of the floor every 5-7 minutes. Over the course of the week, you get a thorough full-body workout.

I would highly recommend Genesis Fitness for anyone who's serious about getting into shape. I'm so addicted that I take as many classes as I can whenever I pass through town!

Novices and meat heads need not apply!

If you don't want to get your ass kicked then head over to your 24 Hour Fitness or Bally's and go about your normal routine of of running on treadmills and lifting weights and trying scope out available singles.

On the other hand, if you do want to get your ass kicked then sign up for a boot camp at Genesis Fitness!  Ok I'm going a little over the top but if you are looking to loose some weight, train for a marathon or just want a unique challenge then sign up.

Genesis offers two boot camps a day, the morning session starts at 5:30am and last 75 minutes and the afternoon session starts at 5:30pm and is the same amount time.  I won't get into the specifics of the boot camps because they vary from session to session and trainer to trainer but one thing is for certain they are always challenging!

The boot camp isn't the only program that Genesis offers.  They have many other programs for all type's of fitness levels and to find out about these programs I would suggest checking out the website or contact a trainer to learn more about them.

The gym itself is very clean and large enough to accommodate classes of about 30 to 40.  They also have both men and women's locker rooms with lockers and showers. They have added a gym in the tech center to accommodate those of you who live or work there.

So if my review wasn't incentive enough for you then talk to my friend Garth who is the owner and tell him Coy sent you, he might give you a discount on a program but I'm not promising anything!  No, this isn't a shameless plug for a friend who is in dire need of clients.  This place speaks for itself and all the classes book a month in advance.  And since I am still green at writing reviews and you if don't trust me then read more about it on the Westword website. Genesis Fitness was named Best of Denver 2007 for Best Butt Kicking, which is toned down even for Westwords standards.

Try this place out and your body with thank you!
