I used this place as my gyno for a couple of years, and more recently they were also my ob.  I hate going to the gyno - who doesn't?  But this place actually made the experience more comfortable, and I no longer dread going.
They just recently moved out of their office tower on Old Woodward and now have their own place on Woodward just north of Maple.  The new place is very nice, although they had been working out the kinks still the last time I visited.
The staff is all quite friendly and were accomodating with my schedule.  The nurses were all very personable and when I started going regularly for my ob appointments late in my pregnancy, it was nice to have them remember me and remember conversations they had with me.
If you are using this place solely as a gyno- I believe you can easily request to have the same doctor every time.  I have seen most of the doctors there and can say that they are all very professional and have never made me feel uncomfortable.
Being pregnant for the first time and planning to have a normal delivery, they have you meet with every doctor at least once during your prenatal visits.  I know some people want to meet with the same doctor every time and have that be the doctor who delivers their baby- so this situation might not be favorable for some.  In all practicality, there is no guarantee that your doctor will be available when you go into labor-  Babies make up their own minds about when they want to come into the world, and that might not always coincide with your preferred doctors schedule.  I think Generations decision to cycle you through all of their doctors is a good one- and I was guaranteed to have met the doctor who was helping me with labor/delivery at least once.  If you are having a planned C-section, I am sure you then have the option of picking the doctor that you are most comfortable with and having them be your sole ob.
Generations has you meet with their nurse early in your pregnancy and again at about the mid-way point to talk about various aspects of pregnancy and also about what to do once the baby comes!  Nurse Kate is the one who is mostly responsible for these meetings, and she is fantastic.  She is very friendly, informative and reassuring.
I think Dr. Dykowski is my favorite doctor- he makes me laugh and I enjoy laughing.  It is amazing to be comfortable enough at your ob-gyn office to laugh!  Dr. Dean is the doctor that I met with the most in my last couple of prenatal visits, and he also was my delivery doctor.  He was great.
Last but not least- my new insurance was a little picky about what they cover and what they don't .  I had other friends at work who had their insurance reject ultrasounds as not being a necessary procedure.  I'm not sure what Generations does in their medical billing- but I did not have a single problem getting everything covered with the exception of occasional office visit charges or lab fees.

Love this place.  When I moved back home from Ann Arbor, I faced a problem many like me have faced... where do I find a good gyno?  I mean really, this isn't the type of thing to take lightly.  You want to feel comfortable and trust all your doctors, particularly this kind of doctor.  Since my mother's recommendation was the man who delivered me and is in many way pretty much an uncle to me, he was out.  Then there were all the ones who work with my father, but they felt a little too close for comfort.  I mean I love that my dad is a doctor in pretty much all other areas of my medical needs, but I don't really want him to be buddy buddy with my gyno.  So that left me with one final option... ask my friends.

So the first friend I asked suggested Generations.  She said she really liked her doctor and the clinic, and that she actually found out about this place through our other friend.  I already felt confidant in wanting to schedule an appointment, but I still asked our other friend about it.  She said she did not go there anymore because of a change in insurance, but that she loved that place and her mom loved that place and that I should definitely go.  So I scheduled my appointment.

When I went there, the staff was really friendly and the office was really nice.  Now maybe it shouldn't matter what a place looks like (and I mean if the doctor was terrible it wouldn't have), but it made me happy that is was a nice clinic.  It was pretty and clean.  Sitting in the waiting area, I felt like I was going to be catered to or something.

The nurse who took me back to my room was very friendly.  Then there was my doctor.  She was sweet and young and cute.  She was probably in her early 30s, but she didn't seem inexperienced or anything.  Looking back, I easily could've been uncomfortable with her because of her youth, but I wasn't.  There was something very easing about her presence.  Not only did I trust her, but I felt like we could relate to each other, which I think is especially important when it comes to a doctor of such an intimate nature.  She was very professional, but she was also just enough of a friend to make the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable (relatively speaking, of course, because how enjoyable can a gyno appointment really be?).

In sum, I would definitely, without hesitation recommend this place to anyone who has compatible insurance.  I'm going back next month, so I'll let you guys know if my high recommendation changes.
