The Muni as it's so eloquently called, it not such a bad course for a public one. While it may be a bit of a drive from Charlotte, if you have Gas House friends, then this isn't such a bad course to play for a decent price.

The course may not be the toughest (well for me it is), or the nicest, it still allows for a great day of golf with your buddies. Playing here has always been fun because midday it isn't too busy so you can take your time & not worry too much about other people wanting to play through.

We always rent carts, so the cart fee along with greens fee can get pretty pricey for a public course. But if you just walk the course then it'll be a little cheaper for you. And if you aren't a city resident, then you'll have to pay a fee, but that isn't too much more.

As for the clubhouse, they have a nice little grill selling your normal golf clubhouse fare, from burgers to hot dogs, so nothing special. It's not a bad stop in to eat though & it's a pretty good price. And coming in the next year, they are going to sell beer after the law comes into effect.

The municipal is nothing special if you're looking for a really nice course with lots of amenities. But if you're looking for a course that lets you play without anything fancy or getting in your way, then this has what you need.
