This review is about one stylist in particular, Yolanda (thus the 5 stars). Yolanda is awesome. She's been cutting & styling my hair for over two years now. She's really good about "just knowing" what it is I want to do with my hair & what will work for my hair type. She always mixes it up a bit too so I don't always have the same exact cut. In regard to my color, I let her decide what will look best. She knows what she's doing. She'll add highlights or low lights as needed without me having to ask for a specific color based on season, etc.
Gary Allen seems to be in line with other high end salons price wise. But their other services- manis, pedis, etc are all way over priced, in my opinion. The decor is nice & everyone seems to be pretty friendly.
My mom goes to Gary for her cut & she gets compliments EVERYWHERE she goes. I've gotten very positive feedback on my new short cut that Yolanda recently did. I'll post a pic! :)
Every time I have been there...it has been a treat! My mom even gave up her hair appointment so I could get my hair done! I haven't been there in a while, but I definitely love Gary and the gang! Gary Allen's Conditioning Rinse is the best and I so need to get some more of it!
I took a soon-to-be-wed friend here for a bit of a pampering session. The staff was friendly and the services good. The facilities were clean and well maintained. It was very pretty. I just expected more from this place. Mainly, the price that was on my bill was not the same (or anywhere close) to the one that they quoted me at the beginning. And I had asked twice.
Gary Allen is a day spa that does hair, facials and waxing. I went in for waxing and so I can't comment on the quality of the other services. The woman who did mine and my friends waxing was named Georgia. She was nice, professional and tried to make things pain free. She was great and I would suggest that, if you go here for a wax, go to her. She was good. Even my friend, who had never gotten a wax before, said that things weren't awkward and that things were as painless as could have possibly been.
My negative review comes more with the operation as a whole. The biggest thing was that I had shopped around and Gary Allen had quoted me the lowest price of the places that I had asked. When my bill came, the price was $20 more than they had told me it would be.
I give them 3 stars because Georgia was very good.
