What would I do without Yelp?? Especially when I'm in an area I'm not used to. It's a shame that there aren't as many yelpers here as there are in Los Angeles though.

So, my husband drove 5 hours to come visit me and he was wearing sweats, a hoodie, and crocs. Not the ideal wardrobe when fine dining, but I wasn't going to make him change and I was starving; however, I was worried that the restaurant wouldn't want to seat us. Fortunately, the host didn't take a second glance before taking us to our table. Whew! I hate feeling like I need to act proper in a restaurant when all I want to do is gorge myself with delicious food. Etiquette is the last thing on my mind, so I was grateful that they weren't strict on dress code. However, if you have the time, you may want to put a little effort in how you look because it is a little upscale.

Food... We ordered calamari, our usual, to start off with and it was pretty tasty. It was perfectly deep-fried and they used a buttermilk batter, but it had a tempura-like texture, which I loved.  The calamari was accompanied by an apricot sauce versus your ordinary marinara and it was yummy! For my entree, I ordered the flounder and it definitely lived up to all the hype. It was topped off with the same apricot sauce and it was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Since this was the first time I ever had flounder, I didn't expect how much meat it was going to come with. I was only able to finish half. My husband ordered the steamed littleneck clams with linguine and it was also delicious. The sauce was just a little runny, but it was still good. It would've been perfect to dip bread in, but I was too full. My husband ordered the chocolate mousse cake for dessert and I only had a bite, but it was extremely rich and creamy. It's a flourless cake, so it was pretty dense, but it was like an explosion of chocolate in your mouth. Who can resist that??

Service... was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive, courteous, and personable. He brought our food out in a timely manner and checked up on us just enough amount of times where it wasn't annoying.

Value... The prices were reasonable for what we ordered and everything else on the menu seemed decently priced. For the service, elegance, and quality of food, I didn't mind paying up... I mean, I didn't mind my husband paying up.

Overall... I would definitely go back again if my husband was here to go with me! The place was a little difficult to find only because the sign was barely lit and the lights inside the restaurant were so dim, but just keep your eyes open. Also, they have valet parking available, but we were lucky to find street parking right in front of the restaurant. We had to drive around a few times to find it though. You should definitely try this place out if you haven't done so already!

He said..."So this place is pretty legit. This is where we had our first date 2 years ago and its still good. I had the chicken milanese and it was really good. The chicken was fresh and crispy. The bread with the oil spread was perfect. I can't wait until we there again."

She said..."This place is pretty good...i would eat here again but probably try something different. I got the pasta primavera but it wasnt as good as i thought. It tasted like normal angel hair pasta with veges in it. I dont know...nothing quite special about it."

This place is excellent.  I liked the linguini with clams, even if the clams were slightly overcooked.  The lasagna also looked fabulous.  It was difficult to order.  They have a decent and affordable wine list and the desserts looked amazing, particularly their signature almond toffee cup overflowing with vanilla ice cream, fruit, and whipped cream.  They gracefully and easily handled our large group and were really nice about splitting the check.

Me and my wife went because of the great  reviews and we were not disapointed! The  corn and crab chowder was very good. The highlight was the shrimp risotto cake in a ham gravy as the appatizer. Both of our Entrees were also very delicous. You can not go wrong with the beef tip and shrimp linguine or the chicken Milanese. Overall an outstanding night out. Drinks and all under $75.00. Will surely be back soon.

Excellent triggerfish. One of my most enjoyable meals during my lengthy stay. On par with Mr. Friendly's; surpassed by Motor Supply Co.  Next time I will have to try Dianne's and that seafood place on Gervais (Blue Marlin?).

As the other reviews can confirm flounder is the best bet. The wife claims they have the best cheesecake here outside of Chicago. Its an older location so therefore the quarters are kind of tight and parking is annoying (they do have valet) but the food is very good. The location is cool because after a nice meal you can walk to starbucks or around 5 points and walk off some of the rich meal or sit on the patio near saludas and people watch.

There's a fair number of decent restaurants in Columbia.  A handful are very good.  Out of those, if someone was visiting town and had time to just go to one restaurant, I would send them to Garibaldi's.

It's a really great Italian restaurant located in five-points.  While I've never had a bad meal, I would recommend the Shrimp Risotto Cake for a first course, the Poached Pear Salad (has very tasty  goat cheese fritter), Crispy whole Flounder for the main course, and finish with the fresh fruit almond basket.

In a food-challenged city like Columbia, Garibaldi's is a welcome break in the cycle of pain.  This is a nice if old-school restaurant with a slightly predictable menu that is nonetheless well executed.  You'll get big portions of pasta.  The room is pretty nice and this is one of the better going-out-to-eat places in town.  Very close to the University and the Statehouse.

Probably one of the best restaurants in the little town that could. Fine dining atmosphere but not stuffy. Good seafood pasta and excellent wine list. Friendly staff and frequent locals. Can get crowded at times so call ahead.

I have been to Garibaldi's more times than I've visited Columbia, which is a lot, and it never fails me. The seafood is always the way to go here, although you won't be disappointed with anything you chose. Have the Garibaldi Salad, yum! It is a nice restaurant so go here to enjoy your meal, not rush through it... they aren't too picky about dress codes here, but it is always more enjoyable to feel fancy when you are eating at one of the fancier restaurants in our little unpolished gem of a town!
