My Aloha Abode:
Staying here was like staying in my Auntie Aloha's place, but without the family obligations. I was greeted with warm smiles and courteous professionals. The rooms were clean and spacious. I had a ground floor room so I heard the parking lot. At night all I heard was the soothing ocean waves.
The location cannot be beat! I not only heard but saw the ocean from my window. Nawiliwili Park was across the street, the Kaua'i Bus stop was in front of the hotel, and I could walk minutes to Kalapaki Beach, Kalapaki Beach Hut and other food sources. Across the street was Anchor Cove with ABC and other retailers and further down was restaurant row.
I would highly recommend this hotel to others!
I shall be staying here again the next time I visit Lihue, Hawai'i. -

Got a family suite here. Lovely.
Kitchen, bathroom, small dining space, king bed, and 3 twin beds.
Fell asleep and woke up to an artificial waterfall.
Colorful decor by a local artist and clean serene facilities.
Steve the host was very friendly and courteous.
They lend you beach towels, sunscreen, aloe gel, umbrellas, etc at the office.
Walking distance of Kalapaki beach.
There was a complimentary box of macademia milk chocolate in the room with a thank you note which was really sweet.
They also lend you DVDs if you ask, and give you a bag of popcorn with it.
They have a koi pond which is cute, and an outdoor patio area where you can sit and chill, play games.
there's also a green garden area where you can lounge on the first floor.
Has lots of mosquitos tho.
Only prob:
trail of ants in the room.
Steve came up to the room and helped us.
pay close attention to any additional charges.
according to my parents:
charges that were not mentioned during check-in such as "extra-person charge"
We reserved a room for five and realized they charged 10 extra dollars per night for 7 days.
Got the money back -
Review from Miriam W.
When I left my swimming costume in the room, they called and left me a voicemail to say so and then kept the bikini until I came to pick it up yesterday before my flight back to the mainland.
When was the last time a hotel called to tell you that you'd left something behind? I'm seriously impressed.Listed in: Kauai Guide

Really enjoyed our stay there, cute decor, nice garden setting in front and behind the building, across the street from Kalapaki Beach & the Marriott. Great price. Only stayed one night. Got a room on the top floor, corner. No noise heard from neighbors (air conditioner fan was loud enough to block out noise, which I like - it is loud as others mentioned, but the white noise helps you sleep). In Hawaii, there are bugs. I didn't see any in our room, and no bedbugs. I have a bad reaction to mosquito bites, so I pretty much use Off all the time. The lush gardens must have had a few mosquitos in them, but I didn't feel even one bite me. Would come back and stay here much longer next time. (We stayed at a friends house for a week and just wanted one private night to ourselves for our last night on Kauai).
Central location on the island, easy to get to Poipu and to Hanalei. Right across the street from Duke's, an ABC Store & other cute shops (Honolua Surf Co., Red Dirt Shirts, jewelry store, etc.), near Nawiliwili Fishing marina and near cruise ship harbor. You can learn to surf, stand up paddle & outrigger canoe paddle at Kalapaki - easy rolling waves, warm water and a turtle here & there can be seen along the jetty rocks. -

Stayed here for 5 nights and it was great. Perfect for touring Lihue, the south and west sides of the island. The hotel room was a good location, safe, and comfy. Lovely flowers and garden for dining - perfect to pick up delicious plate lunches and bringing them back (which I highly recommend when you are here). It is right next to busy road, but they have a waterfall that drowns out the noise well. the staff was super helpful and gave great advice on what to bring depending upon where you are going. Tell them before you go anywhere as they will give you some history or hidden location at your destination. They are also stocked with towels, boogie boards, coolers, camping chairs, etc., for the guests. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Cheap, convenient and probably the friendliest staff you'll ever find anywhere. Stayed for two nights for a wedding at the Mariott which is located just across the street. Easy access to the beach, food, and nightlife (Duke's). The decor is tacky, but I say that in the nicest way possible. Adorable Hawaiian themed murals, bedding, and they put fresh sweet smelling flowers in the room upon your arrival! The front desk offers free snorkel and body boarding equipment, beach towels, and various books all for guests to help themselves. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

No. Not a luxury hotel, but a beautiful family run place with lots of heart and cute little touches. A koi pond (they let my daughter feed the fish) a beautiful garden and a lovely staff. Right across from a beautiful beach, they lend out sunscreen, sand toys, flippers, umbrellas, towels, trashy novels: everything you could need for a day on the beach. I'm going to go back.

I came to Lihue for a buddy's wedding at the Marriott. The Marriott was booked so I decided to give GI Inn a try. I was very pleased with my stay here. It was close to the Marriott, Marriott pool, the beach, and stores. The staff were all very nice and helpful. They have all kinds of goodies for visitors to borrow, such as guide books, golf club, towels, beach chairs, suntan lotion, etc. If you need something, ask them first before purchasing. The room was very comfortable too. The electronic appliances were not very loud, like some hotels.
