Cute little family business run by a cute little family; so the Berkeleyan in me wants to support them and not Pinkberry... though I'm not gonna lie, Pinkberry has the highest quality ingredients of anyplace I've ever been.

It's much like Yogurtland, but more conveniently located for many downtown folks such as myself. Limited selection, but hell, they had pistachio, my favorite, so that couldn't have mattered less to me. A few cents more per ounce than Yogurtland but really, you're talking a $0.25 swing for the average consumer. Who notices the missing quarter at the end of the week? LOVE that it's serve-yourself so you stack it with the right amount of everything you like. I went nuts today and added all of my favorite condiments at once, and they were somewhat incompatible (Oreos, walnuts, pomegranate seeds, and blackberries... what the hell was I thinking?).

I would like to see cheesecake bits in the list, my favorite, but perhaps I just missed them today. If not, I hope they read this, because those things are soooooooooo good.

Let me start by saying I love me some frozen yogurt...I do not however like Pinkberry, never have don't know why.  Not impressed.
I've been to garden berry quite a few times & its good.  Some of the flavors are hit & miss.  Seemed a little better when they first opened.  Some of the topping have been a bit stale....left out too long??  Pricing is decent & its cute & clean inside.
We were on a kick where we would stop every day after work for like 3 weeks & the cashier totally knew us.  Which is why it was quite a turn off one time when we had forgotten our card that they stamp and the next day we asked her if she could give one stamp for the previous day.  Her response was No, she already does that for the girls that work in the showrooms so she can't for us. WHAT?? What do the showroom workers have to do with us?  Not to mention the fact that I fricken work in the Californai Market Center, but instead of trying to figure out what the heck her reasoning was we just stopped going.  Kind o sad...but now I go to The Mart Cafe(lobby of california market center) and their yogurt is pretty darn tasty...& I have yet to get a stale nut.

Not quite as many flavors as Yogurt Land, and it's more expensive, but it's less expensive than Pinkberry. I got Green Apple, Pomegranate, and Plain Tart, topped with blueberries, yogurt chips, Coco Pebbles, watermelon, and cherries. Big fat cherries. And it was all less than five bucks. Great service, sparkling clean interior, but it was a little small. Will definitely return here.

I love fruit.  I also love frozen yogurt.  The problem is Pinkberry is too far to walk to on my lunch hour from where I work downtown... and also costs a pretty penny.

Well fashion districtonians... problem solved!  Garden Berry opened just a few weeks ago.

This place is self serve style.  You get to choose from 8 different yogurt flavors.  They have everything from vanilla, chocolate, and green tea, to flavors that have been changing daily like pomegranate, mango, blueberry, cheesecake, and strawberry.

The usual suspects for toppings... cereals, cookie crumbles, nuts, chocolate sauce, I think I also saw caramel one day, and an assortment of fruits and berries.  They also have some fruit they they couldn't even identify... when asked what it was they held up this can with some characters on it... what language, we couldn't decipher!

Now comes the best part... since it's self serve you weigh your hodge podge yogurt creation at the end and pay 39 cents per ounce.  So far, I've only hit that 10 oz mark and it was more than I could finish!

So scrape those coins from the bottom of your pocket and check this out.  You'll be hooked!
