Don't go here for food - expensive, bad service, long wait.

Don't go here for drinks - expensive, low alcohol %.

Even the video games have gotten pretty expensive - especially since I'm a doubles DDR player : \

Their latest promotions worth mentioning are:

- Unlimited Thursday Nights: $10 9pm to close
- Weekend Mornings: $15 2-hr cards sold from 10AM-12PM on Saturday and Sunday

I've visited Gameworks over the past few years for the purpose of playing their music video games (Dance Dance Revolution, Taiko, Pop'n Music) but Gameworks is well known for not keeping very good condition of their machines. I've never bought food or drinks there, but the staff rarely seem to care about the actual machines that make up the majority of the building space.

If you want to know how Gamework's machine conditions are doing, check out: http://www.pnwbemani.n...

They removed the indy 500.. I can't tell about this place. Sometimes they have great games, sometimes they don't. I miss the hayday. With it all being said and done, there's certainly worse ways to waste some time and money.

Just bring back crazy taxi.

Note this review is different from the World Grille (which is their food), which I'm about to destroy in about 30 seconds...

Food was okay. Had the chicken burger, pretty average. Also tried the turkey club, it was a little salty. Portions were big. Pretty much the same as other places like it (D'n'B). Lots of tv's. Watching sports is good enough here. Not too busy either during the day.

Gameworks is a pretty sweet place to hangout on Thursday night. Only because they have a special on this night - $10 for unlimited gaming after 9pm until close (midnight).

The layout itself is huge with an upstairs and downstairs. There is also a bar along the side for the thirsty folks.

I'm not a complete gaming nerd so I can't really comment on the selection of games but they have a pretty wide range of games, imo. So if you get bored or if you really suck at one, you can move onto something else.

I loved the Japanese drum game, though it would have been cool if there was a way to have two people play on it. The guitar game was sorta lame, as some of the buttons on one of the guitars was broken. If you find yourself mentally challenged by the games, you can always give yourself a break and play some skee ball.

I wouldn't go on any other night because it can get pretty pricey, but if you're looking for something to do on a Thursday night, besides the usual Thirsty Thursday ritual, Gameworks can be a fun option.

Drunken Skee-ball at 10AM, bitches!! This alone is enough to save this place from all of the horror that is Dave and Busters ala Seattle. Well, this and the fact that you can trade your hard earned tickets for a pretty, pretty plastic drunken princess crown. You know you want one!

This place is for family and friends entertainment. You get arcade games, food, pool tables, darts, and a sports bar. I wouldn't recommend coming here primarily for the food, which was okay only, but it's the accumulation of everything that makes the experience a joyful fun. Centrally located downtown where the shops, malls, and prime restaurants are, it's a great time out for play between shopping or a great relief after work. Kids can spend some time here during and after movies (located right next door) or while waiting for parent's that are busy shopping in the area. My kids (ages 3 and 4) loved playing the arcade games for prize tickets. The one thing they're missing for kids that age are miniature arcade rides. The food is okay, good enough as an accent for a quick bite during game play and sports view (burgers, dogs, etc). Generally, a clean and loud place, suitable for child laughter and enjoyment. It's relative to a miniature Dave & Busters almost. Nice knowing there's a place like this conveniently located close to us for instant entertainment.

Came here for a staff-outing and was pleased with the $50 worth of games for only $35 bucks, but was disappointed that one of the air hockey tables was broken, the busted dart boards, the dirty un-bussed tables, the broken bball games, and other broken games that I probably wouldn't have played but would have liked to at least have decided that for myself.

That said, the Taiko drumming is awesome, (but in Japanese, so you have no idea if you're actually playing by the rules). The air-hockey table changes it up with a couple of minutes of 3-puck play which sends you into a puck-shooting frenzy, the big racing game that features live commentary is a blast, and there are plenty of shoot 'em up games and multiple versions of DDR. Oh, and this totally freaky giant-tarantula game that kind of gave me nightmares.

I won't make it a habit of coming here often, but had an OK time while it lasted.

After receiving a top secret communication from a secret agent, the mission was set. Small team infiltration recon to scout out specific locations, blend in with the local population, obtain nourishment, followed by team obstacle course challenge. Covert agents Liquid Velvet and Fallen Angel transfer via POV without tactical support and converged to this location.

Mission accepted, civilian debriefing to follow:

I haven't been into Gameworks since I worked at Qwest and we would occasionally have after work get togethers there. It has changed quite a bit, and not necessarily for the better.

Overall, the place seems run down and a bit sad. The bar and banquet spaces remodel took out a lot of games and gaming areas. I guess for the location, the niche they want, and the prices they charge, I would expect them to be more cutting edge and have the widest variety of new and old games (and in working order) than they do. It was clean, there is some variety that I didn't expect, and more games seemed to be working than some of these other reviews found on their visits.

However, the tactical team of Riss and Don was up for one challenge in particular. The ongoing "Who schools who" battle for DDR supremacy.
There are, if I am remembering right, 3 different versions of this game throughout the lower level. And, of course, we tried them all.

From dinner to here Don, working as a double agent, had the plan of trying to overpower me, not with skill, but by getting me drunk. The sake and drinks at dinner were already doing a fairly decent job of getting me there. A Vanilla Stohli and coke at the bar was a good way to continue, but not too strong a pour here. For what they charge, we should have gotten the bottle.

The main event: DDR. If you can get past the fact that you will likely have never heard of most of the songs unless you do regularly DDR or listen to Japanese pop and techno, you are good to go.

We rallied back and forth for the lead in points, and if you average out the entire night, we were pretty close to tied. I did however kick his ass at any song w/ a salsa beat feel.

In addition to dancing our little hearts out, we escaped from zombie hordes, hunted assassins, survived several car wrecks in excess of 200 mph, rode tandem in a jeep through a jungle of mega-bugs, turned into anime dancers (in the greatest twist on the photobooth my inner child has ever seen), hunted deer (Don totally killed Bambi!), got the beat with solo and tandem drumming, and hopped on our hogs and toured the streets of LA.

The purikura machine (Japanese photobooth) upstairs was not on, and didn't say why. Sadness. I've heard it's the only one in the entire area.

One of my favorite things was definitely the little Japanese drum game for two. Definitely a game approved for all ages. Choose your songs wisely though, unless you speak and read Japanese you won't really know what you're getting into and some of them are crazy fast. On the Asian version of "The other day (the other day), I saw a bear (I saw a bear)" kids song, however, I rocked it for a perfect 100% score! ha!

At the end of the night, we had laughed and sweated our way through most of the games, leaving out only a few that were pretty much duplicates of others we'd already done (tons of racing games here) and left having had a fabulous time.

Mission accomplished. Liquid Velvet, out.

This place is awful. Since they don't have Dave and Busters up here, I decided to come here with my family. I am so disappointed I did.

The games were busted and old. They have Golden Tee 2004, and various outdated games. I went with my 5 yr old daughter, and the "kids section" games were awful. The venue itself has potential, as it was spatious and clean inside. I am just truly upset with the broken and old games they had. I will say this though, they have great prizes for not that many tickets.

I didnt drink, so I'm not too sure on that aspect. However, I'll gladly avoid this place and head to other venues elsewhere.

Here's the situation.....I had been in downtown Seattle for 6 days when the huge blizzard-like snow came in. The bf and I had planned to do a little site seeing for the 3-4 hours down time I had but were reluctant to go anywhere due to the freezing weather and our lack thereof proper attire. After mulling around and nixing the ideas of shopping or going to the movies, we settled on GameWorks. Why? Because it was right across the street from our hotel and we were about to approach the happy hour mark!

Granted, I've never been a GameWorks or Dave and Busters kind of gal. The extraneous lights and constant array of noise has always been sensory overload to me. But hey, it beats 31 degree weather. Once we were in, we grabbed drinks at the bar (drafts  1/2 off, which means my ginormous Viking size mug of Newcastle was only $5--YAY!) and loaded up a game card.

Highlights:
- Who knew I loved shooting games so much!!!! Primeval Hunt is my particular favorite!
- They've got this Taiko Drumming game that was ridiculously fun and embarrassingly enough, killer on my arms
- Cheap Drinks during Happy Hour

Lowlights:
- Games are rather pricey
- The Potato Skins we ordered were no bueno---hard, not crunchy.
- Skee Ball Machines. Out of 5, only 1 "worked". And I mean that lightly, only 3 of the 9 balls actually rolled out of the chute and they didn't even have a scoreboard.
- Locating a staff member was like playing Hide and Seek. Lucky for me, I found that most of them were just scattered around playing video games.

Would I come here again? Likely not...unless another snowstorm rolls in....but ooh that Primeval Hunt, I sure do love me some of that!

Agreed Allie S- This place used to be shit for happy hour. 1/2 off everything in the bar, 1/2 off games, guaranteed good time. This was the perfect place to fall back into childhood games with enough of a drunken stupor to make shooting at zombies and dance fighting fun again.

We went back after being abroad to continue an after concert high. It sucked! No service for at least 20 min., when he did show up he took my mum's order for an ice tea then took off. We ended up having to go to the bar & serve our selves (only excusable if the place was packed & this night the place was DEAD). And the drinks were unreasonably high for the crappy broken down "atmosphere". In short:

Bad prices
Broken games
Bad service

The three B's = BAD! Goodbye Gameworks, I've had better.

Gameworks isn't as great as it used to be, but it's still fairly decent.  The best time to go is on a Thursday night from (I think) 9pm-12am because it's All You Can Play for $10!  Talk about a sweet, sweet deal.  Plus there are drink specials as well.

Several of the games were out of commission when I was there on my last visit, but we still managed to have a pretty good time regardless.

Back in the good old days [anyone remember freeloader Thursdays where everything was buy-one-get-one?] Gameworks was my favourite place. It was probably about the Summer of 2000: There was one version of DDR, and my older cousins Suzanna and Emily had just returned from Japan. So we went, and we played the bloody hell out of that machine. And all was good.

The promotions started getting worse, but by the time I was a junior in high school my friend Angela and I had become addicted to the crack-in-game-form, Derby Owner's Club. DOC was great until the mob of people whose lives actually are directly correlated to their horses' rankings took over. After getting tired of having to camp the machine for an hour waiting for someone old enough to be my grandpa to have to pee [and he tried to save his seat, what a jerk!] we finally gave up on that too.

After finding out they have a real, live purikura machine I gave it another go. I love purikura, as does any vain girl who loves pictures of herself decorated with way too much glitter and a "UFO game," background [crane games, in the states]... but the last five or six times I've gone to Gameworks, the machine has been down. Now, the only saving graces are Love and Berry [which is actually horrible but I still have some draw to it...], Tekken 5 [Xiao Yu is hot, you know it] and Taiko no Tatsujin [but I'm addicted to j-pop, so yeah...]. I'm tired of DDR, and having the 23rd edition isn't a big draw for me.

That doesn't change the fact I still have about $60 worth of credit waiting for if/when the purikura machine is in working order. Le sigh. Maybe next year...

Edit: Purikura machine is working as of 6/8/09. I am being nice to tell you this, because with my luck, you will probably go break it.

I'd rather stay home and wash my hair.

This is not my thing at all...... but I was trying to be a "Team Player" when a dozen people from work wanted to check out our bosses battle it out on the air hockey table.

The drinks were weeeeeeeeeeeak. I needed 3 just to get my buzz on.
It was snowing outside, but felt hot as hell inside.  The upstairs area is a hot box because heat rises I assume.

The place seemed past it's hey day and in need of renovation.

The clientele is thug chic, fast & furious wanna be's and their muffin topped girl friends.

The nachos and artichoke dip were just dreadful !!

The only fun I had was reminiscing while playing Ms. PacMan

How about we re-name :  LameWorks

You have to be a fan of playing video games or at least show an interest in games to appreciate this place. Prices are generally decent and even better on one of their promotion nights.

Some of the games are old and you will often find a few broken. However they offer a pretty good selection and offer them at better prices compared to D&B and Jillians.

Decent drinks and good ambiance. Not too bad, but can be a little disappointing at times.

We stayed at the Sheraton across the street from Gameworks. I love having a place that's open that I can walk around late at night. Gameworks fit the bill even though we didn't play any of the arcade games. Basically it's a two story arcade for adults (which isn't meant to imply that it's an "adult arcade").

This review is really for the place where we ate dessert on the top floor. First, of all, a place that serves dessert at 11 p.m. is awesome. We were drawn to the brownie dessert, described on the menu as 4 different flavor brownies, each with its own sauce, and each topped with its own ice cream. We jokingly referred to it among ourselves as "The 444" and "The Most Expensive Dessert on the Menu" (it was $5.79).

My husband dared me to call it the latter when ordering so of course I had to. (Note: This has happened before as you can read in my review of the California Pizza Kitchen in San Mateo where my husband dared me to order the "ginger dumps.")
http://www.yelp.com/bi...

"We'll have your most expensive dessert on the menu, good sir!" (pointing at it on the menu so it wouldn't be a total mystery to the server).

"OK. I'll get that to you right away."

Score another for the wifey!

Although our brownies and sauces and ice creams tasted okay,  they were no "444." They didn't each have a different sauce or ice cream. I think there might have been 3 kinds of brownies, 2 sauces, and 2 ice creams. It was more of a "322" if they were lucky.

I only come here for the Japanese drum game that's located by the DDR machines. I don't even know the name of this game since the title -- and the entire game itself -- is in Japanese.

Thankfully, language barrier isn't an issue here. Whether you're furiously beating your faux taiko drum to a J-Pop song or The Nutcracker Suite, this game alone will give you a reason to drop by Gameworks.

And I have a popped callous on my right hand to prove it.

I used to spend hours and hours and hours here, DDRing my ass off, playing the truck driving game, shooting zombies, pretending I was skiing.. you get the picture.

That was 2004.

The last six months have been a different story. Every time I stop by for an arcade fix, half of the machines (okay maybe not half, but still) are broken, the DDR pads are cracked and don't register your feet, they gave up the front half of the space to turn into their "sports bar" area.. it just.. isn't the same. Sad. Very sad.

I'm not big on arcades, but I like to pop into gameworks when I've got time to waste before seeing a movie at the Regal next door.

Pretty much the only thing I care about is the ONE purikura machine (Japanese photobooth, super fun!) that they've got on the second floor. It's the only one like, in the whole NW or whatever and it WAS broken for the longest time. Now, it seems to be fixed, but last time I was downtown, the card reader was off. Turn that shit on! I would drop so much money into that machine... seriously.

Anyway, outside of my purikura dreams...  It's a relatively expensive arcade with mediocre food and there's a lot of annoying kids/homeless people that stand creepily close behind me while I play something.

Gameworks has a number of arcade style video games, air hockey, some crane and ticket games, and interactive games like DDR and such. There is also a bar.

The games seemed to be getting pretty outdated and it is not a place that seems like it is very well maintained or cared for. It looks like they started a few years ago with some really nice games but then never updated it.
There is a very neat looking stock car game where you actually climb into this little car that jumbles around as you drive in front of a huge screen. There is one really popular game that, if it was american developed, might be called Conga Drum Hero. They also have what looks like a Japanese version of guitar hero, but kind of outdated, but the japanese punk-pop on it is great. The ticket games suck. The air hockey is pretty awesome, except for the air is barely strong enough to push the puck around.

Overall, I had fun, but that was in part to the company. I wouldn't spend a lot of time or money here, but could be a decent stop on a night in the city.

Girls don't play video games. I could hardly care what one thinks of an arcade. If a photobooth is down it doesn't really affect me I'm not some scrub noob who comes to play the latest j-pop garbage stomp fest; oops I mean dancing. There are three games that make this place worth visiting: Too Spicy, Street Fighter IV and Galaga. The rest is just standard fare. If you play the broken ass Star Wars Trilogy game you do it at your own risk. If you play any game that looks appealing to a 5 year old you can use some logic and presume that the controls are not going to work properly in some way. If you come here for the food or drinks you're missing the point. There are many many nicer places to eat and drink for cheaper. Why not get drunk and eat somewhere before coming here???

The woes of Yelpers' recent reviews bear repeating here.

This is NOT the Gameworks of 2005 that was a veritable paradise for arcade-lovers like myself who enjoy a good mix of games with good friends and good booze.  In fact, coming here now is depressing, because it reminds me of what used to be.

Given the trend of the last three years, I predict that Gameworks will be closed by January 1, 2010. That prognosis might be on the optimistic side.

I will say some good things about it.  The 8-car racing game still keeps me coming back with my friends every once in a while.  The classic game room is fun, though small. The food is decent for a bar. The air hockey machines are tremendous. I usually have a somewhat decent time when I go.

I've been in mourning for Gameworks for almost two years now, and almost wish it had signed a Do Not Resuscitate order so we can close it now and put it out of its misery.

It's really a 2.5 star rating.

I saw someone else mention that back when Gameworks first opened, it was a five-star place and I'm inclined to agree.  Things seemed to have gone downhill since, and it's a bit heart-breaking.

As mentioned, they've been renovating a lot, which means more bar area, less games.  They squished a lot of games up on the second floor to make way for an area that appears to cater to special events.  Notably gone are the pool tables, also on the second floor - while not the best pool tables ever, they were a quick fix.

When I was last there (yesterday), I noticed a large number of games were out of service.  Bummer - isn't this supposed to be a game place?  One of the air hockey tables (the one that wasn't out of service) jammed up on the first goal as well, which was also lame.

I HAVE noticed that prices have come down, which makes me happy (because some of those games were ridiculously expensive).  And the additions of that Japanese drum game was really kind of entertaining.

But where, I ask, is that balloon game that was always in the center of the building?!

Update: visited tonight, 9/9/08 -3 stars-and dropping! (see reviewer's comments about out of order games, renovated space)

First, I love the concept-I've never been to a Dave & Buster's, but I certainly remember arcades from my childhood. It seems arcades have gone the way of the drive-in-to a far off land where real estate is still cheap.

This is the reason I think Gameworks caters more to the eating and drinking crowd than to the gamers-they can make more money by selling food and drink than they can with games. Shoot, a person could slurp down a meal in 15-20 minutes and have spent $30. I go there and put $20 on a game card and spend about $15 in three hours. Of course I'd like it better if they'd dedicate more space to games-but since we live in the society we live in, where cash is dictator, that ain't gonna happen!

All things said, I still like this place-so does my nephew-I'll go back again-I'd say 2x/s a year is a good frequency for gameworks.

This is the perfect downtown spot to hang out at if you're waiting for a movie to start at the Meridian or Pacific Place - or you know, just if you're bored and jonesin' for some video game goodness.

It's not always filled with kids - there's actually a decent mix of ages in here, which I'm sure the multiple bars help with! It's super easy to grab a few drinks and snacks, and then drunk-play pinball, DDR, or my personal favorite: Air Hockey.

Their happy hour is a pretty good deal if you're a fan of all things deep fried (altho I can't find/remember hours or prices for HH anywhere!)  - plus, they do tend to error on the side of the booze when pouring.

But the real reason this place gets 4 stars is this: They still keep a row of old-school 80s games, and they have BOTH Ms. Pacman and DIG DUG! I will cry and cry and cry if they ever take those out...

The bacon alone is well worth the visit. Full of porky, fatty, salty goodness. Tasted butcher-fresh and was well worth the trouble of spending 10 minutes to find an employee to fix a game that locked up on us.

This place is HUGE. Probably one of the biggest arcades I've ever been in. I only ever really go into arcades to play DDR and they had 3 DDR machines in a row. I am not a fan of Gameworks in general because I think it's overpriced. I do however like the fact you can add money to a card and swipe it to play games. Very forward thinking. =) I also love the cheesy artwork on the wall. Cute. Great location as well. We came here after dinner, burned a few calories, and went to the movies. Good times.

I had to adjust to the changes in Gameworks...
-The new bar that took over their other entrance.
-The large empty areas now filled with claw prize machines (I managed to get one!)
-The relocations and layout of most games.

I loved the new addition of Japanese things...
-The drumming game (by Namco Taiko) that works out your arms and tests your rhythm (but some idiot broke the center of one of them)
-The pop'n music thing that gives you the option of playing with 5 button or the 9 buttons. (the super mario brother nintendo music one is the best!)
-DDR... is the same. It's always taken by people that memorized the songs and played 34526727 times.   (Oh and they moved the game by the window so people can watch me fail)
-Purikura!!  The Japanese photo booth is awesome.  I've been looking for one since they've been extincted in WA.  (Some idiot also broke this too.. Booo!)

This place isn't so bad compare to other options in north Seattle.  There's no other place that I can get a great workout and have fun with friends.  To avoid crowds, I only come here on a weekday.  I've purchased two gamework cards (because I couldn't find one of  them) and I haven't had to refill my card.  They seem to last very long time (not really sure what the dollar value is of 130 points), even after 5 purikura and countless drum games.

Minus one star for the lack of staffing, I only see one staff on the floor and it's hard to ask for assistance when she's busy.

When we went, it was $10 for unlimited games till I think midnight on a Thurs night, which actually seemed like a pretty good deal.  it may look like there are a lot of games, but they're basically all kind of the same. Driving, shooting, la dee dah. Air hockey was broken too! Both tables!!

Weak.

Completely weak.

All the cool games are either broken or you have to wait in line to play.  Even getting buzzed and playing racing games here doesn't have the same thrill as it should.

Bartenders need to be sent to a re-education camp where they are beaten with bamboo by large Care Bears.

The balloon game was off.  Both of them!

This place was rocking in 2000 or something before a good solid 5 years of game development came and left.  Now it's just drinks from pissed off bartenders, broken games, and autistic staff.

I'm not a fan of video games.  And I'm really not a fan of interactive games but somehow I ended up here on Saturday afternoon with a gazillion little kids.  I did play Ms. Pac Man and Frogger and Jurassic Park and some paint ball gun game and air hockey but that's it.  I watched someone try the skateboard game and about puked my guts out, not only can I not play those games but I can't watch other people play them either, my head nor tummy liked them.  For a Saturday afternoon there were way too many kids for me and way to long of a line to play air hockey but I survived.

This place does have cheap happy hour.  Just about their whole menu in half off along with their drinks and I believe it goes until 7 pm.  So if you want cheap fried bar food and half price drinks, you call it drinks along with their specialty drinks go to the bar at Gameworks you can get pretty messed up for cheap here.  Just stay away from the Frenchie it tastes like cough syrup.

Go during the week for happy hour stay away from the place on the weekends.

**Update**
After spending all morning at the Penny Exchange Expo with my nephews I brought them here to play a few more games.  They loved Gameworks and thoroughly enjoyed themselves and thought it was so cool that I got them each their own game-card so they didn't have to share with each other only me.  Gameworks it's a great place for 10 and 15 year old boys to have fun.

During Sakura-Con, which was at the height of my addiction to Gameworks, I approached my home away from home in disbelief that there was a line around the block. In this line were all walks of life - anime characters, disenchanted teens, uptight adults, small kids, and gargoyles. Granted, Sakura-Con is an anime festival and I am aware that folks in costume don't normally frequent Gameworks, but it certainly proved that all walks of life can find something fun to do here.

You like cheap, stiff drinks? CHECK
You like DDR? CHECK
You link 8 car racing games? CHECK
You like old school arcade games, like Frogger? CHECK

So if you are ever bored of the bar scene or your movie date bailed on you and you are in dire need of a pick-me-up, get thee to Gameworks!

We went here last night, and I added an extra star. I still think its terrible that they added so much bar/banquet space and in turn elimnated a huge area for games. Many of the games were still out of service and it is freakin like a sauna in there. You have to go outside and take a breather every 30 minutes or so. But the added star was added for the pool tables and dart board added upstairs by the grill area. For the same price of a  couple plays at  racing or shooting game you can play a game of pool or darts. This is by far the bests value in the place, we spent the majority of our time playing pool and darts for the fraction of the cost of playing the arcade games.

I love me some Dance Dance Revolution. You think you got moves? Let's do this then! :) Just kidding, I dance like the lyrics to Humpty Dance. You know what I'm talkin' 'bout:

First I limp to tha sounds like my legs is broken, shakin' and twitchin' kinda like I was smokin', crazy whack funky. People say you like like MC Hammer on crack, Humpty!

The latest variation in the theme of interactive video games involves taiko drums....how cool is that?!?!?!? We should totally get a Yelp party on there. Good drinks at the upstairs bar, and the food is ok also.

This place was great when it first opened, but time as worn it a bit thin. It could do with a reboot (get it?) of the games and a reboot of the prices. Why in the hell would I want to pay 25 cents to play Pac Man?

Like I said, I think the idea is great, its just wearing a bit thin.

Back when Gameworks first opened in Seattle, it was easily a 5 star establishment. But since then, everything has declined. Every single conceivable aspect. The place has gotten run down, a fairly large percentage of the games are ALWAYS out of order, the service sucks (there's really no other word for it), the food is getting worse and worse as time goes on and they seem to forget how to make drinks! (or water them down)

Recently, the entrance on Pike was taken over by Sega World Sports Bar, and this is the first step forward I've seen in AGES. They can make a decent drink and the bartenders aren't complete d-bags . The bar upstairs however, is still as unpleasant as ever. The staff makes you feel completely worthless and more often than not screw up your drink orders. I hated the food in the restaurant so much when I went there for my 18th birthday (now 24) that I haven't gone back since, so I won't comment on that now as I don't think I can give an up-to-date opinion.

As much as I have very little good to say about this place, I keep going back. It is very unique and until the Seattle-area gets a Dave & Busters I'm sure I'll continue to frequent Gameworks. As one of the few affordable places within walking distance of the Convention Center, I will continue to recommend it as a good place to get a drink and kick back during the frequent anime, video game and comic book  conventions that I attend there. And thus why it earns itself 3 stars, as awful as it is. :)

If Noah was a gamer, Gameworks would be his ark!

They really do have 2 of everything imaginable! From virtual bowling to every version of DDR imaginable to some moving-360-degrees-tank-cylinder thing. The prices are outrageously high. Gameworks take the phrase "You gotta pay to play" way too far. If you're calling Dave & Busters the measuring stick for the food/nightlife/gaming trifecta, this is a poor overpriced imitation. However, pardon the pun, it is the only game in town!
