I'm only giving this 3 stars because the service was great...food...not so much.  We went to Hopscotch with our two kids before the Twolves Game.  Kinda felt sorry for the place because it was so dead.   We found out that the apps were 1/2 off as well as the beer.  Kids meals were $6 and included a drink and ice cream, not bad for downtown.  I got the Kobe Hot Dog, and the server was right, it was "gamey"...didn't think a hot dog could be gamey but it was.  We got the wings, which was your basic buffalo wing, and the sliders.  Kids got a pizza (too much cheese) and kids burgers (which were sliders).  All the buns to our meal were very stale and crumbled to pieces.  When we asked for no onions on the sliders, there was onions...so we mentioned it, but just gave the manager an FYI.

Our server Corey was very attentive and even checked on refilling the kids drinks (which never happens).  He also comped the onion laden sliders.  If it wasn't for the service...Hopscotch would have received two stars tops.

Not too bad, I expected worse.

Was "forced" to come here for a Manager's Quarterly Outing full of food, bowling and alcohol.

The food was edible much to my surprise.  Spinach dip: meh nothing to write home about, Southwest Eggrolls: Bueno...ole!  Pizza: I was expecting it to taste like cardboard and it was homemade with several topping options to include: veggie, pepperoni, bbq chicken, etc!

Bowling was fun, clean up-to-date facilities...oh and you get tips free of charge from the transients passing by on their way to "bathe" in the bathrooms (if you didn't read between the lines the bathrooms were gross, broken sinks, pungent odor, etc)  The cops walked by the bowling area a few times...hey at least I felt "secure"

This place used to be great, but has gone downhill. They still have cheap drinks, but that doesn't make up for the everything else. An arcade is where people go to play new, hot games. Most of Gamework's machines are original to their opening several years ago, and many are falling apart. Also, any decent vibe this place originally had is gone only to be replaced by a ghost-town vibe or a why-is-this-homeless-guy-hugging-me-while-I'm-peei ng-no-I-don't-want-to-buy-any-drugs-why-are-8-year -olds-running-around-at-midnight-on-a-Saturday kind of vibe.

The only reason it gets two stars is the drinks are still mixed just fine and the staff is pretty friendly.

Gameworks has a great happy hour where you can get a 25 ounce Summit for $3.50.  The food is pretty good when I got a cobb salad at a company outing.  They have some good deals for game cards every once in awhile, so my friends and I play the zombie shooting games for an hour or two.

The thing is, is that gangbangers also like to hang out there and it feels a little dangerous at times.  They have an armed guard there and I have seen them have to get people out of there at times.

The bowling alley is fun and the service has always been perfect.  If it weren't for some of the clientele, it would be a 4 star establishment.

It takes me losing a bet to my boyfriend to get me to come here. Not that it isn't fun - for about 20 minutes. Then I get supremely bored and end up sitting on one of the unoccupied racing games until it's time to leave. At least I can have a drink while I wait....if I wanna overpay. There is a bowling alley on the upstairs level, which keeps my interest for another 30 minutes. Greatest downside: It's in Block E, so it loses a star on principle. I just don't like the scene here, and would rather try a place like Chatterbox.

I've really enjoyed Gameworks in the past, and I'd love for Block E to be successful, it'd be a great place to start out a Sat. night.  Unfortunately, I can rarely go to Block E without being hassled, the games in this particular location are a bit out of date, and while they had some pretty good drink specials, for my girlfriend who doesn't drink beer, rail drinks were way overpriced.  Hopefully the city or downtown district pitches in and cleans up Block E, till then I'll stick to Dave and Busters in the burbs.

I went here a couple of years ago now..... simply, to eat, while visiting my then boyfriend, my now husband.

I haven't been back since (I think I might try it again for the games/the bar, but we'll see). The food was somewhat forgettable, but the issue I had with the place was our waiter. Every time he placed ANYTHING on the table, it was accompanied by a "bam".  He didn't really "shout" it either, you know, a la Emeril.... but more said it under his breath, but audible enough.

I don't know why he felt the need to do this. It, seriously, made us stop asking for anything. I'm pretty laid-back, as a rule, and I tried to joke about it, but it became annoying, and I cringed every time.

I joked about wanting to refuse to pay him if he said it when he put the check down. Of course he did say it, and we did pay him.

Like I said, I'd have to give it a go some other time, and hope to not have that waiter, or better yet, maybe that waiter is gone. I don't begrudge the entire establishment based on one dude, but yikes.

Ugh, you couldn't pay me to go back.  Headache in a box.  I have this instant fear that I'll never escape.  It might be different if I liked games or bowling, but as I don't, this is obviously not a choice establishment.  It's very loud, and the air is stifling.  Also very expensive.

The drinks, thank god, are strong.  They have this fishbowl thing that seems to be popular.  Look for Chris - she's the best bartender.

The food is not so hot.

The one game I did like is the spin-around flighter jet one that you have to shut yourself inside of.    Don't ask me why.  Something about how it whips you around.

But really, it's dirty and sticky and the fact that people would just come here for the drinks is a flashing sign that we need some better bars in this part of town.  It's downtown for heaven's sake.  People should not have to go to an arcade to get a strong drink.

This is a newer Gameworks, so the games haven't all been beaten to trash and some may even be reasonably new.

This location is also good.

It is the ideal warmup to a movie to get a couple of big drinks, play one of the racing games (drinking and driving in the arcade is fun, kids!), maybe that game were you put on heavy boxing gloves and go three rounds with an imaginary boxer, and then go see your flick.

Eating and hanging around the place while not waiting for something else to happen isn't such a bad choice either. :D

A grown-up version of Chuck E Cheese.  That's what I love about this place.  Arcade games coupled with alcohol and fried foods.  Sounds like heaven to me!!  They also have bowling.  Cons?  It's pretty expensive and the clientele is pretty fratty if you ask me.  But I have always had a good time there, probably because I always have a guy with me that pays.  :)

great happy hour, half price games, food, and booze.  They have a decent selection of games but you must play the derby owners club horse racing game, it's like crack, but with horses and you don't ingest it.  It is also fun to go on the weekends just to watch guys drag their completely dis-interested girlfriends around.

A video arcade and full bar all in one?  Sounds great!  But this concept just isn't fully realized in any sort of satisfactory manner.  First problem:  it is located in Block E.  I hate Block E.  Second problem:  It's expensive.  I paid way too much money for a weak screwdriver.  The games all go by credits, so if you've been drinking it's hard to figure out exactly what you are paying to play a game (which is too much).  The game selection was a little weak I thought, but they probably have a better selection since I've been there.  If for you "money ain't a thang" then by all means go here, you'll have a good time.
