Every month I come here to meet with my fellow naval architects and marine engineers. There's drinking, eating, and a lot of talk about boats. I won't bore you. Funny enough, I've never eaten here by myself. I will say that the staff at Moran's is great. It takes some skill to weave around a room full of aging, portly engineers. I can't say anything about the selection, since I suspect my lack thereof has something to do with catering packages. Still, the food is enjoyable, but I'm never wowed, and desserts are consistently too doughy. Even the cheesecake is far too dense. Maybe the food would be better if I ordered it individually, but I don't think I'll have the motivation to find out anytime soon.
Very good food. But this is an even better place to get married. My best friend got married here few years ago. The staff is very helpful and the prices for a wedding are totally reasonable for what you're getting.
The food here is fine, nothing special to write home about , but with a lot of other good restauarants in the area, it should not be anyone's first choice.
A while back i was brought here by surprise. My gf thought it would be a good place to have an intimate moment as we had been pretty busy and stressed by work around those days... well, was she right! The place was beautifully decorated with all sort of coper antiques, here and there. There was a fireplace near our table as well. Dim lights, not very loud. The place serves mostly steaks of different sorts but there is some for the chicken and fish lovers on the menu as well. The staff greeted us and were very prompt to sit us at a very cozy table by the corner in the back, near the fireplace. We ordered some wine, a crisp but not too dry. Refreshing. Our steaks were prepared very nicely and the waitress was very attentive but not intrusive. This is a nice place to visit for a good intimate meal. Recommend it very much so. Which reminds me, need to call for a reservation. Its time to go back!

This is a great place, hidden right out in the open! It's amazing how many times you can pass the same place in NYC and never even notice it. The outside is not so impressive, but the inside feels like an old pub in England. It's warm. There are fireplaces going, and mahogany everywhere. It's a great place for a quiet date (not a first date, because you'll really have to talk in this place) or a relaxing dinner between old friends. I took my mother there for her birthday, and we were both equally impressed with all of the food and the ambiance. The prices are kind of high to make going there a routine, but $150 is worth for a four course dinner once in a while.
