I don't really think a Buffets' should really get more then "3" stars!  It's just principle!

None the less it was very good for a buffet.  More VEggie options then expected and quite delicious.  It might have to do with the fact that the MSG count was prolly off the charts!?  It was clean and great service!

Lots of Seafood options and a whole Asian desert section (two thumbs up)!

VEggie Friendly: Somewhat

Alright, if you're desperate, it isn't BAD.  However, the permeating fish smell when you walk in the door is exceptionally off putting.  I enjoy the buffet setting, but for what you pay, I wasn't that impressed.  If you're into fried everything, you'll do okay.  The service was good though.  I just personally probably won't go back.

**Reduced to one star because I have NO interest in ever returning to this buffet.  The food was nothing special.  The smell was overwhelmingly bad.  Yuck, I can't stand even thinking about this place in retrospect!**

This is my second favorite restaurant in Novato and is THE place to go with hungry pre-teens and teens because they can chow down!!  It's also great for toddlers who love fruit!

I'm deathly allergic to seafood, therefore I am very careful not to go on the weekend because it seems everything has shrimp, or crab, or some other creature from the sea wanting to kill me.  Most people do not think about others when using the tongs from a seafood tray over to a veggie or beef tray.  I try to go about a half hour after they open to avoid possible cross contamination of the seafood.  They do serve what others have described as "American" food, but it leaves a lot to be desired.  The pizza is awful, the fries are awful, and you can see the little remnants of hair or feathers on the chicken wings.  Ugh!

I find the staff to be very annoying, especially because you are seated, they take your drink order, and by the time you get back from filling your plate the bill is there ... on the table with fortune cookies for everyone in your party.  It's rude.  As another reviewer mentioned the patrons are probably 99% Latino.

The food is delicious, the cake has butter cream frosting (that's where the fourth star came in), the decor sucks, but hey, it's a buffet!  Just stay away on the weekend if you're allergic to seafood!  They charge a few dollars more on the weekend as well, so keep that in mind.

I am very confused here :S
I have eaten here atleast 10 + times and am always amazed on how one can have all you can eat oysters, clams, crab ( prepared three ways) shrimp ( prepared three ways), mussels, and assorted chinese food, "american food", desserts, all under $12.00 for adults and alot less for children. Must be the Chinese food maffia or something.

I come for the shellfish. The sushi is awful. Fair dim sum, but again, the seafood is great. I find the best time to come is on Saturday or Sunday during prime eating times. That way, the turn over for fresh food is always there, and they keep the hot trays coming. There is one price on the weekend, since they go full boar on the seafood.  I usually come at lunch time. There is a great mix of people. A lot with children since they eat so affordably.

I just sit happily, eating my steamed clams, peeling shrimp, cracking crab and people watch. The servers are attentive, passing out lots of napkins and refilling waters. My boyfriend loves the fried bananas and fried dough balls. Kind of like Beignets but with cane sugar dusting instead of powdered sugar. It's a splurge and sinfull!

The broccoli beef is great as is the shrimp with vegetable. They have such an array of food it's dizzying. The soups are good too!

The bathrooms are a bit rough, forewarned.

But the restaurant is clean and a good deal. Just don't go near closing. They stop refilling the hot trays about an hour before closing.

There's something about buffets that make me as giddy as a school girl. Buffets are really low budget Tapas joints - you get to try a lot of "small plates" and sample many different dishes for one low low bargain price! It's all how you look at it.....

Growing up in the Castro district of the city there were no buffets around, (the closest thing was dish-out steam table Chinese at the Canton), so I only got to eat at buffets when I was on vacation. Usually this was while visiting my Grandparents, and they would take me to the Chinese buffet in Bemidji, Minnesota or one of the Amish buffets in Dutch country Illinois. As a result, buffets seemed special; they were exciting and exotic, and I've never quite gotten that early association out of my system. For me, Unagi and Sukiyaki were childhood staple foods, but greasy buffet pizza and soft serve were rare and novel treats. I don't go there often, but to this day I do feel like a giddy eight year old when I anticipate a trip to our local all-you-can-eat emporium, The Fuzhou Super Buffet.

Fuzhou is a Chinese/American buffet located in a small strip mall in Novato. It is only nominally American - I think the only American items are pepperoni pizza and soft serve. The rest of the food is mainly Chinese, with some Sushi, Kimchi, and so called Thai BBQ chicken thrown in for some global flair. The food is decent and satisfying, and for the $10 price tag, you don't feel cheated since you would definitely spend more at one of the local Chinese places and basically be eating the exact same food, with less choices. They have decent sui mai and BBQ pork buns, the Chinese dishes are generally pretty tasty, and the soft serve and Crisco sheet cake are quite yummy. What more does a girl need when she's having a buffet craving?!

I particularly like the dry fried string beans, BBQ chicken wings with a sweet glaze, steamed fish with ginger, and pepper chicken. Yes folks, I just described a buffet item as being prepared in a sweet glaze, but I swear, they're addictive little winglets! Some days are better than others here, and I guess that's the risk with buffets. If you come at the wrong time things can be a little dried out and overcooked from sitting on the steam tables for too long.

The place is a little rough around the edges, design wise. The walls feature giant light box photographs of various scenes from China as well as a 3-D waterfall picture with moving lights to create a rippling water effect. Gotta love it! The bathrooms could be cleaner (as is the case in many of my favorite Chinese restaurants) and the place could use a fresh coat of paint. The Anthropology major in me has been interested to note that the main patrons of Fuzhou seem to be large Latino families who are there to grub down on the crab legs, shrimp, and chow mein. The staff are unfailingly helpful and polite and are quite attentive for a buffet.

I always feel slightly guilty after eating here - buffets are in league with fast food as the culinary equivalent of a one night stand - but Fuzhou makes me feel young again, and I just can't seem to stop myself from coming back every few months. Fuzhou also helps to remind me why low budget buffets are something best left as infrequent, exotic destinations, for both the sake of my waistline and my culinary dignity.

I set up an account just so I could warn people about this place. Worst food ever and it was expensive. They have a policy that if you leave any food on your plate it is at least a $5 dollar charge added on to the $12 a person. The problem was the food was so terrible and I felt forced to eat it all. Stomach ache all day! Don't do it.

I have been here before so we are back for our bi-yearly meal. Not a huge fan of buffets but once in awhile is ok. The food I had, I went back for 3rds. Tried the wings, green beans, pepper chicken, pot stickers, skewered chicken. Oh..........the WALNUT PRAWNS.......where is the walnuts? Dessert I had regulal and chocolate covered cheese cake and chocolate ice cream. It was ok.

They have a WIDE variety of entrees to choose from, all very tasty. Many different chicken dishes, a good selection of seafood, plenty of deserts, but minimal salad items. I've found the staff very friendly and attentive. The one thing that keeps me from rating this higher is the bathrooms. They are disgusting! The few times the bathroom looked as if it had been recently "cleaned" it still looked and smelled BAD. Even the door is usually sticky with ...?

So I have driven by the "Super Buffet" Sign all the time and I have never got anything from here because A. I am not a huge fan of buffets and B. Something about the joint looked kind of getto fab! However I remember a friend mentioning that they served crab and I was craving crab so I figured why not give it a shot. And to my surprise the crab sucked! Oh well what was I expecting from a getto looking buffet off the freeway in Novato. But, I did try a few items that were not to bad. The shrimp cocktail was amazing to be honest and the squid wasn't too bad either (yummy tentacles). I had these Cinnamon puff balls and they were OK, but the oysters were kind of bad. Please whatever you do, don't order the coffee, get a soda, because the coffee was so bad! I had to go to Starbucks across the over pass to get my coffee because I couldn't even finish it. The service was OK, and the price was pretty reasonable for two people. I may wait awhile to go there again this is one of those places that you may want to use sparingly.

I am chuckling because I am all of a sudden writing all these reviews on buffets.  What can I say, I've been to quite a number of them over the years...

I was introduced to this place when my hubby was living in Novato.  I don't know why but I like this place.  When I first went to Beijing Buffet in the Peninsula I totally missed Fuzhou.  Maybe because I am addicted to this one item they have.  How can I describe it?  It's some sort of baked custard item in layers of wonton wrappers (I think).  I've never tasted anything like it anywhere and I weally weally like it.  It's been a very long while since I've been here (time to go back maybe?).  There is nothing extra special about this place, this is a very affordable Chinese buffet and the spread includes some American items such as pizza, tater tots, fried chicken wings, fried shrimp, etc.  A few years back we organized to have my cousin's high school graduation party in their back room, which is solely reserved for parties.  We were able to decorate the tables and bring in an easel to display his picture.  They also provided a table for the cake and gifts.  I thought it was nice and it's affordable if you want to plan a party there too.

I love this place!  You can get potato skins, onion rings, sesame chicken, scallops and top it off with cheesecake for pretty cheap!  This is the place to hit if you work near Novato and have a crappy morning at work....platefuls of mis-matched entrees can make even the most dreadful Thursday morning transition into a not-so-bad  Thursday afternoon.
