In my quest to find semi-affordable custom furniture I have been through the wringer; most places simply don't deliver, much like most Presidents and their campaign promises, or Federal Express.
Furthur L.A. is THE place to find amazing quality custom furniture at bad ass prices. This place is not expensive for what you get, trust me. Michelle, the owner, is as gracious as they get -- she sat down with me for about an hour helping my indecisive arse to figure out what I wanted for my table. A week earlier than promised I received a call telling me the table was ready.
This thing is absurdly great -- a huge six person dinner table with giant slabs of heavy teak surrounding a custom tile design that reeks of a countryside Italian or French restaurant. I couldn't be happier. Michelle happily took care of any issues I had -- she's a shining example of what customer service should be.
I also ordered four chairs at fantastic prices that look and feel about twice as expensive as they are. It's a specific style of furniture that will either appeal to you or not but the beauty of it is that you can order anything there fully customized for how you like it. This is one of those finds that you don't want everyone to know about, but I feel that someone of this caliber needs to be trumpeted.
I'm so happy that my IKEA days are over, and this place is a great example of why. Instead of standard, common Förklift Hävensprat tables that millions of homes worldwide have, I've got a fully custom table that sings with beauty. Sweet.
Where can you get a custom made table in L.A. so beautiful for so little?
They made for me a 26" table for $280! I chose the colors and the printed tiles. All the staff was super friendly and the table was ready as promised in 5 weeks.
Now that I have this table I'm addicted and can't wait to order another one.
This furniture is not too shabby. I just am not a huge fan of "mosaic" tables. They had an array of coffee tables and dressers that had mosaic designs.
But some friends of mine got some funky vases and candle holders.
They also have some vintage sofas and dining tables so that was sweet too.
Its kind of hit or miss but the ambiance definitely makes you want to check it out.
I could spend hours in this store cooing and ooohing over the wondiferous goodies here. The vibrant colors, the glass work tables, the sturdy woods, the warm rich tones, oh it's just awesome...until you hit the price tag.
This biatch ain't cheap, BUT, for that special piece for your home...(and I mean the piece you buy once you graduate out of Ikea stuff and low grade thrift store goods)...it is totally worth splurging on. I had a friend years ago who registered for her wedding here and I have to hand it to her...SMART GIRL!
This is also one of those great places to go and get inspired or spend the afternoon mentally licking furniture that's so edibly rad.
...What, don't look at me like I'm weird. Mental furniture licking is all the rage for Spring '07. You'll see!
Went here looking for a chest of drawers or dresser - fell in love with the teak table with the red in-laid mosaic tiles and sleek fabric chairs. We went to many furniture stores big and small, known and unknown and this will be where we buy our furniture. There were no hoops, it was what it was, the staff was friendly, helpful and a new shipment comes in a few weeks.
I love the dining room table I got here, especially after the extraordinary hassle I had with the one I originally got from Macy*s. This one is unique, gorgeous, and goes perfectly with my antique chairs. And the whole experience was pleasant and seamless!
