Nico and I give this place two paws up!
Being the Cat Whisperer that I am *bends down to listen to the "mrow mrow MROW!"*, I present to you the official translation:
- Wow, that is some TASTY food!
- Can it BE that my person has brought back even MORE savory morsels for my gastronomic pleasure?
- Oh! Oh! And what's that? My person says there is probably the biggest selection of fancy foods (she's talking Innova, Wellness, California Natural, Merrick, and all sorts of goodies!) she has ever seen in a non-froufrou, non-"we-like-to-dye-our-poodle's-hair-to-match-our -outfits" setting.
- Mrow. My person says that, if it weren't for the store clerk who told her she smelled good as she stood there holding 7 cans of grain-free Wellness (uh, WTF?!), this place would get a pretty solid fiver!
- Mrow! What's a fiver?
Wayyy too expensive. However, they do carry a huge variety of brands, including Newman's Own and California Naturals, and offer free, fast delivery. However, it's prohibitively expensive for me (I usually spend $50 on 2 cases of canned and 17lb of dry, it cost $80 for same stuff here).
They have a great selection of products. They are a bit pricey, but sometimes for the higher quality things, you need to spend a little more money.
Those are the ONLY positive things I can say about this store. Or maybe it's just this location, I don't know.
I bought food from them, my dog got sick, I noticed the food was expired (yes, she went to the vet) and the worker was SO rude to us. He insulted us in front of other customers *I, unfortunately, have to say that I stayed polite throughout it. I should have stuck my claws out - pun intended, whatever*
The food company sent us a coupon for a free case of food and the same worker tried to charge me 12 bucks...for what?
We went somewhere else and got our case for free from very nice people and a cute store ( I would review these great people but I forgot which store it was..60's, Madison).
Furry paws = epic fail.
I just moved into the neighborhood and have shopped here a few times to check it out. The store seems well-stocked but so far I haven't had great experiences with the staff. They often seem preoccupied with things behind the register and seem to barely notice customers, offering only the most limited assistance. When I recently went in to buy a head harness for my foster dog, the manager there, Ali, was unwilling to put the shop cat in back (one of the dogs with me is a cat-crazy JRT) claiming that "dogs never chase the cat" (?). Well my dog did and then the manager became enraged and shouted at me and told me to leave the store. This guy even had the nerve to complain about me in front of other customers. It just seems like the store needs to pay wages high enough to attract workers who have an incentive to sell, and the customer services skills to go along with that. So now I am taking my $150+/month business and going to Pet Town a few blocks away! Too bad the owner, Tim, won't take calls from customers so he can find out what's going on with his business. He won't be getting any more from me.
