We have used Fur Get Me Not three or four times over the past couple of years, and like the service.

It is easy to set up visits online, and we enjoy reading the daily updates from the sitter when we get back home.  Our cats seem to be friendly with them, which is great since they can be a bit shy around strangers.  In addition to food, water, and some playtime each day, a couple of sitters have even cleaned up hairballs that the cats have coughed up!

One thing folks should know is that if will be gone for a week and set up a sitter to check on your pets, the policy is to check every day.  So this can make the price steep if you will be home for an extended period.  That being said, I think the cost is worth it to know that our pets will be cared for in a familiar environment while we are out of town.

Looking for a pet sitter?  Don't bother calling Fur-Get Me Not if you don't live in Arlington or NW DC.

The map on their web site indicates they serve Fairfax.  This is NOT TRUE.  The woman who answered the phone became extremely rude as soon as I said I live in Fairfax, acting like it might as well be Front Royal.  "We don't have anyone out there."  It's 10 minutes from Arlington on 66 at off-peak hours.  Give me a break.

I use fur get me not for their doggy daycare services since I work 12 hour shifts.  Although I don't often get the pleasure of dropping him off or picking him up from the facilities (my roommate does that for me) I can say that when I get home he is completely exhausted and funned out and there is a report card on the counter telling me exactly how his day went.  I know whether he ate or not, if he pooped, who he played with and what his mood was.

The few times I have seen him in action at fur get me not he looks like he is having the time of his life and the whole staff is always very excited to see him when he comes in the mornings for a day of play.  I really feel like they care about my dog.

Overall I would say that the $32 a day (with one of their package deals) it cost me to send my dog to daycare is well worth the expense.

A home away from home for your furry family members (of the dog variety). The people working at this place genuinely love everything about dogs and it shows. They even give cute and informative report cards at the end of the day, and they celebrate doggie birthdays each month. Great place for your pups.

I have two dogs.  One is very social in all respects and the other, well I like to say that he is more of a people person - it's like he never learned how to play like other dogs.  So he hangs out with people.  I got him in a shelter so I don't know much about his history ... and he's a beagle - so he has lots to say.

I always meet people who claim to be "dog people" or "dog professionals" and they never understand him ... I once went to PetSmart Pets Hotel and they isolated him ... when I returned from vacation he had a fever and was in bad shape.

Well I can guarantee that the staff and management at Fur-Get-Me-Not are truly DOG PEOPLE in every respect.  They understand him and let him be him.  While Matty is meeting friends, Dexter will sit on a chair and survey the land.

How do I know this?  Because Fur-Get-Me-Not provides these WONDERFUL report cards - whether you were there just for doggy day care or for boarding.  You will pick your friends up and know just how their day was.

Last, despite having lots of "friends", the staff knows Dexter and Matty by name.  That means a lot!  To all of us :)

Sassafras says: Kristen usually has one of her friends stop by my apartment when she goes out of town.  However, on this particular weekend in October, I was sick and had to take a pill every morning & evening.  Even a BFF doesn't want to stop by  their friend's apartment twice a day to give medicine to a cat, so Kristen called Fur Get Me Not to have them come take care of me.  The sitter came to meet me the night before Kristen left.  At first I was scared to death and tried to run under the bed, but Kristen caught me and made me say hello.  I gave the sitter a sniff and realized she was a good person.  Kristen and the sitter went over instructions and the sitter watched me take a pill.  Even though I usually take it very easily, I made sure to be particularly difficult that night and even spit out the pill when I thought they weren't looking.

Carey came six times over the next four days and took really good care of me.  She gave me food, water, and shoved a pill down my throat.  She also cleaned my litter box.  She even kept a diary about how I'm such a good cat!!  If only Kristen's boyfriend could realize this!!

I recommend FGMN to all metro DC pets.  They will take good care of you.  They also offer reasonable prices with a flat fee.  Many places that Kristen looked into had additional fees for things like giving your animal medicine.

Thank you for feeding me, FGMN!

I worked here from 2005 to 2007 as a part-time petsitter and dog walker, so yes, you may want to keep that into consideration as you read this review.  But what I'm going to write about actually has nothing to do with their petsitting and dog walking services since I don't use them - but I do want to rave about their doggie daycare.

My pit bull/hound mix Wallace started coming here as a 5-month old puppy - he is now 2 years old, and I have FGMN to thank for playing such a huge role in his socialization.  When I first started sending him to daycare, I still had my employee discount so I was able to afford sending him 3 days/week.  When I stopped working at FGMN, we had to cut down to 2 days/week, and finally 1 time a week.  This lasted for only a few months-- it was pretty miserable, and his behavior at home reflected the lack of playtime.  We've since begun to send him 3 days/week again-- huge chunks of our paychecks go towards the cost of daycare, but it's worth it.

Wallace loves, loves, loves his friends (both dog and human) at daycare.  We know that he is in capable, caring hands and we never worry about him while he's there.   I enjoy reading his report cards whenever I pick him up in the evening, and I am always a little taken aback by just how much they seem to genuinely care for him.  The attendants really make you feel like you have the best dog in the world (and I do... right?).

Boarding services are also highly recommended, since the dogs get to play with all the daycare kids during the day (but get kenneled up overnight).  I don't think Wallace even notices that we're gone.

My only wish would be for more affordable prices, but who am I kidding?  It's a daycare for DOGS, for goodness sakes (and in Arlington, no less) - what did I expect?

I am so glad we have started sending our 9 month old beagle puppy to daycare.  I resisted it for a while because we have a dog walker come every day and I try to take the pup to the dog park at least 3 times a week.  However, I have found that daycare (for us anyways) is definitely worth the once or twice week splurge.  It is not cheap and we pay $32 for daycare plus$15 for pet taxi home from the daycare.  The price of daycare can vary between $28-$34, depending on how often your dog attends.

I opted for FGMN over the doggie daycares that were closer to my house or cheaper because FGMN takes the dogs out for walks three times a day.  While accidents are inevitable in the dog area, I really appreciate the fact that my dog gets to maintain his potty-outside-on-a-walk-routine.  We have been sending the pup there for a month or two and his potty training has been in no way undermined.  You have to make reservations at FGMN whereas you can just drop your dog off at other daycares.  For some, this might be inconvenient, but I really like the control mechanism in place to make sure the daycare is not overcrowded.  Also, I was told that if there was ever an emergency, I could call the daycare that morning and try to make arrangements.  Further, FGMN has a pet taxi service home which is invaluable for us.  My husband works long hours and I work and have class two nights a week so the pet taxi home is perfect.

Since my little beagle has started daycare, his disposition is calmer and more content.  My pup loves to wrestle and play and he loves having the outlet at daycare.  I also feel less guily leaving him alone while my husband and I are at work because I know that he gets to spend at least one day a week playing non stop with other dogs.  FGMN has a schedule with walks, playtime, and feeding.  They also give you a report card every day that details the dog's temperment for the day, what his appetite was like, and who his playmates were.

$50 is a lot to pay but for us, it is definitely worth it.  (Note that it's only ~$30 for full day daycare.)

In our recent move from Rockville to the DC area, we had to find a new petsitter for our playful pup's daily romps. FGMN services the Petworth area, and we liked the fact we would maintain one relationship with a single walker (vs. a stranger every day). As far as appointments, FGMN gives a 2-hour timeframe in which they will arrive. For those pet owners who need to schedule daily walks, there is a VIP discount club.

About a week after we moved, I locked myself out of my house. My husband was in NYC on business. Luckily I called FGMN from a neighbor's house and 30 minutes later, our petsitter arrived and let me in. You can't beat service like that.

I am changing dog walkers and Fur-Get-Me-Not is going to be my new service. So far, they have excellent communication and are very friendly. I will update this review at a later time with details. But so far, so good. I will meet with the walker this weekend and start the service on Nov 3rd.  :)

FGMN is good (I think!!).    I need a daily walker most days of the week and love knowing that I can totally rely on FGMN... in particular my originial walker was amazing but he's moved away.   The price is high, but its just the areas prices... and it is well worth it.

Everyone I have dealt with at Fur-Get-Me-Not has been courteous, responsive and professional. Their level of attention to their business and the care with which they approach it make me feel good about leaving my little puppy in their care. I have only used the dog-walking service so far but intend to try out their classes and day care.

We have used FGMN for dog walking services for more than 3 years -- they are wonderfully dependable and have great staff.  Both my dogs have been to FurGetMeNot's fun training classes, as well.  Seems like FGMN is constantly adding new activities and new items to their already long list of services.  Oh, and definitely try the do-it-yourself doggy bath .  It's a riot! : )
