As we all know, car drama sucks!! I've driven the same car for the last nine years, and I want to make it one more year. So a good mechanic is like having a good hair dresser (for me at least).
They were amazing, when I say amazing (not as amazing as my new hair dresser, but damn good for an auto spot- they have birds and a fish tank...)
I won't bore you the actual problem (good thing is, he actually found it). He suggested the least expensive option for me to try and then we ran the test, afterwards he never insisted on my getting it fixed right away since it's not a major deal and will have no effect on my engine.
To sum it up - Funk Brothers is honest and quick! And they know what customer service is!
I brought in my crappy 1989 minivan for transmission problems. They talked me through all the different possibilities of what could be wrong, and did not push me toward taking any action. In fact, they told me to hold off on changing the transmission fluid until they had a chance to test drive it and check it out. Then he ended up putting 3 quarts of transmission fluid in my car for FREE so he could see if it ran any better. It did.
All the diagnostics, test drive, advice, and fluid was free. They called me at every step of the way to get my consent. I ended up deciding not to do anything, given the age of my car -- and so I picked it up full of transmission fluid, without ever paying a dime.
Honest, thorough, professional, and will not force you into anything. If I were going to stay in LA, this is where I would bring my car!
These guys truly are the best in town. Not only do they service modern vehicles, but also older cars like my '66 Beetle. It's great to know when a home wrencher like me can't get all the air out of his brakelines he can bring it to Funk Bros and they'll happily get the brakes working right and fast!
This is an established and reliable establishment. I first came to learn of the Funk Bros. through my Auto Shop Class Teacher at Fairfax High School, Michael Peal. He had been promoting their work for years, and I was quickly recruited into the ranks of the convinced.

Funk brothers was established in hollywood in the 20's at the same location. If time is a testimony of our integrity than there you have it. We always pledge to be honest and professional. This is the only way and why we are the oldest shop with the most experience in hollywood.

Peters career started as a master tech at a dealer in the 70's on La brea. Factory trained and now with his son graduating automotive design from Art Center in pasadena the team is complete. The Funk Brothers is a Better Business Bureau accredited "A" shop.
