Put your hands up in the air!! Don't hold onto the handle bars!! Come on, Adam! This is the big drop!!

Well at least when I was 6 it seemed like a big drop on that magical dragon themed roller coaster. Yes, I was that big sister that forced my little brother to ride all of the rides with me here at funderland. Occcasionally my dad would even jump in on the fun when we went on rides here like the Tilt-a-whirl which I swear he was somehow able to control and make it turn whatever direction he wanted no matter how hard my brother and I tried!!

They have pony rides out front too, which I specifically remember waiting in line for, and my dad or mom walked by my side step by step as I trotted along on a shiny small brown pony, pretending I was a cowgirl in Sacramento.

Cotton candy and that weird pink fluorescent candy pop corn were common staples for me here (don't tell my dentist I know!!) and the jungle gym like rides you had to climb and crawl through, the oversized punching bags that you could body slam into, the jump houses that created hours of fun and entertainment...the list goes on and on. This is just another one of those places that makes any kid happy. Right near the zoo and fairytale town this little triangle of childhood glory is a one-stop shop for hours of pretty affordable fun. A great spot to take kids if you are baby sitting too! It was one of my favorite places to take kids I was watching!!

Cheap thrills for the 3-7 crowd. Technically, open for ages 2 - 12.

The rides are: flume; tea cups; two-person buggies; small train; dragon roller coaster; merry-go-round; two-person airplanes; spinning seats on a track that go forwards/backwards; and an octopus ride that most kids outgrow by the time they are 4 but is great for the wee ones. All of the rides are scaled down (note: I saw more than one large adult get stuck on a ride.)

Tips:
- go on a week day -- less crowded;
- if your kid is going to ride more than six rides, get a wristband (cheaper on week days);
- verify operating hours;
- call to make sure your kids' favorite rides are open;
- ratio should be 1 kid to 1 adult, unless the kids are at least 43" in height;
- go eat somewhere else and return later (admission is free, so you can come and go as you please.)

Went there this last Friday with my 3.5 year old girl and 5 year old boy. It was a real treat for them because we rarely go here. They had a blast and there were hardly any people. Our 5 y.o. rode the flume 14 times. Well, like I said, cheap thrills and a good option for a tired/sick mom.

You have to walk back outside of the park to go to a yucky bathroom that has no soap; luckily this mom always has hand wipes! Dress appropriately for the weather (jackets, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen). We avoid this venue during summer weekends but if you are feeling brave, be prepared to stand in crowds and sweat a lot!

Another great Sacramento institution.  Pony rides are near by in the summer.  Close to the Zoo and Fairytale Town.

Great fun for kids 2-8!  Friendly employees and great places for parents to sit and watch.  Free admission, but you'll be getting a few ride tickets.

They do birthday parties there as well, we attended one and it was really fun!

Yes, I'm a fan of Funderland. Is there another place that has a zoo, park, fairy tale town PLUS rides all within walking distance? The ticket rides are old, but it also means you won't be in line waiting ... and chances are you'll be the only kid on the ride. Skip the food; it's gross.

My kid LOVES this place. Fun rides for her age and amusement park food. What more can a 5 year old ask for?

The bonus is, when you're done with funderland, you can just walk to Fairytale town or the Zoo for more excitement.

There is nothing to shop for here, unless you count pink popcorn bricks.

Here's a place to take the kiddies.  It's an amusement park in the heart of Land Park.  They have old school kid's rides, and they are permanent structures.  Very fun place to have an outing with 2 and 3 year olds who like to play hard and tire easily.  Not so great for 6 and 7 year olds, they may need Fairy Tale Town and the zoo.  Add a picnic, pinata and a pony ride, and you have the makings of a very memorable birthday party for some lucky tyke.

Funderland is totally rad.  Especially if you are at least 42" tall.  I am now an adult, which means none of the rides are particularly thrilling, but if I was 3, I would be in HEAVEN.  In fact, the 2-and-5 year olds I was with over the weekend could speak of nothing else for days.  The airplane ride was a favorite.

I remember I had my birthday here when I was turning seven and I had so much fun with all my little friends! They have the best rides for little kids, like the dragon roller coaster and a train that goes all the way around the park that I always rode on. There's also teacups and a bunch of other rides.  Very cute place to take the kids! The Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town are close, so you could travel there as well.

Aw! Many great childhood memories of this place! I loved the train ride and the roller coaster. The last time I was here, I was 18 years old, but I still had fun! I rode a few rides with my 5 year old nephew. We had a grand ol' time! Bring your pride and joy and have some fun at the park!

We took my toddler there last weekend. She LOVED it! We spent an easy 3 hours there, and enjoyed every minute! It's free admission but we easily spent $30 in tickets letting her ride every ride there, a few twice. For such a small sized park, it really has everything you need for a few hours spent making memories with a little one. Although the 2-6 year olds seem to be the ideal age, there were plenty of older kids running around up to about 10 years. You can have a party there too! which is great to avoid hosting your own at home. Only drawback, bathrooms are located just outside the entrance. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy in the park before you head inside and make a memorable day for your family!
