7 reviews for Fulton's Chicken
The chicken dinner was incidental, as I really came here for rice pudding. But the half chicken special is a pretty good deal if you don't mind your food being oversalted. The potatoes and rice had more flavor than I had any right to expect, but it tasted like it came from some salty stock in which they were marinated and/or cooked. The chicken itself was dry and lacked flavor, but also it simply wasn't quality meat. The cole slaw was standard but good, and the onion rings were the crappy minced kind that you always find in these kinds of joints. Honestly, the garlic bread was the best part of the meal: I would eat that stuff every day of the week, but the rest is entirely forgettable.
So, how was the rice pudding?
Straight out of the fridge it was pretty pasty, but when brought up to room temperature had just the right consistency. They add cinnamon, but it also has a good, rich flavor which is more than just sugar. I'd give this one a solid B+. I wish that I had some raisins in the house, but this pudding didn't need them.
The place has been inconsistent- so the downgrade
That said- Still hard to beat prices and fast delivery

I SALIVATE THINKING ABOUT THIS CHICKEN.
I'm not kidding. I never knew how good chicken could be - how moist, how absolutely perfect in texture, until I tried this place out on the recommendation of some family. It is without a doubt a gem that should be discovered and praised for its quality. The staff is especially friendly, and the interior is cozy for a fast food place. I promise you won't be disappointed.
I even thought about getting someone from the Trib to review it, it's that good. And clean.
Enjoy!
After being a fan of Yelp for a long time, I finally actually decided to become a Yelper *largely* to give this review. It's pretty simple: I placed a delivery order, and not only did it not ever come, they turned the delivery phone off an hour before they supposedly closed so I couldn't ask them what happened. That's pretty bad. I'm hungry.
This Greek-owned (?) restaurant is clean, inexpensive and as the take-out menu states has "Just Good Food."
The friendly cashier recommended the House Special, which is oven-baked chicken legs, served with rice and oven potatoes. I could not believe how incredibly moist this meal was, even after my 30-minute walk home!
For under $5.00 I got so much food I ate half for dinner and the other half for lunch the next day!
Don't let the used-car parking out front fool you. There is a great restaurant with clean booths behind orange awnings that say "Fulton's Chicken." The menu also includes standard Chicago Greek-owned diner fare: Gyros plate, beef kabob, hamburgers, Italian beef & sausage, ribs, caesar salad, fish & chips, etc.
The owner/manager(?) - told me the baklava is made on Lawrence Ave. I will be back to try the other items.
"just good food" is totally appropriate. It's the run of the mill greasy grub you can get at a slew of places around the city, but with a higher price tag.
Just another greasy gyros and chicken place. At least it's clean. Outdoor seating if you don't mind sitting next to a car dealership and the scintillating views of Touhy Ave.
