After moving to Chicago from NY I was beginning to get tired of the big-beautiful-loud bars in Chicago. Fulton Lounge came as a great surprise.

Great decor. I especially loved the lighting. I am not sure if it was purposeful but it was soothing enough to relax but bright enough to keep the energy level high. You could find a place to sit which is a big plus for me

The drinks were amazing, although expensive but well worth it. It took us 15 mins to get a drink but that's because there was only one bartender. He was good and superfast but he was the only one to serve 10 of us.

It's great place to chill out w/ friends. Potentially a great first date place too.

We meet again, Fulton Lounge.  I hadn't been here in years.  Years!  I came here a lot back when it first opened.  It was standing room only, bitchiness was readily available (usually from me), the restroom was _the_ place for shakedowns and I would have the occasional drink.  Did they play music?  Maybe.  I can't remember.

I recently came back here to say 'adios' to a friend and was sorta saddened.  This Fulton, for me, was like bumping into a good acquaintance you hadn't seen in years. He looked the same just...older, fatter, grayer.  The median age was older, the bar was slower, the crowd was less packed.  It just seemed...you know?  I mean, good for them for being able to sustain a bar in the rapid turnover that is the West Loop but it just wasn't the same.  The drinks were decent, I had fun visiting with my friends and it was nice to not have to s.a.b. in order to move around or belly up to the bar.  That said, I think that was my last visit.  I want to remember Fulton in all its glory.  Seeing it past its prime did neither one of us any favors.

KIT, Fulton Lounge.  I'll see you at the next reunion.*

*I totally won't.

First time I came here was for my bday with my bf and my friend who flew from SF. It was packed when we went which was around 10p and it was difficult to move around (3 stars)

The second time was last Saturday when my bf's bro and his friends flew from around the country. There weren't a lot of people so there were  plenty of space to move around and even open seats/table. It was really chill that night and the music isn't too loud so you can still have a good conversation with the people you're with.

Very loungy and chill. If you're eating nearby, I recommend a post dinner cocktail(great sidecars). Otherwise not my scene but everyone was nice there. And they hada ton of bathrooms which my small bladder always loves.

My kind of joint for a chill night.  Good, ADULT, crowd.  Variety of characters, bar folks are nice, servers are quick. Drinks are good.  Pricey but good

Not a dance club, a lounge for chatting.

Fulton Lounge lives up to the "lounge" part of its name. It's a chill, laid-back place where you can wind down with friends. Plenty of seating, nice serene decor. This isn't a place to mingle and meet new people. You'll pretty much stick with your own party. It's like a cafe with alcohol instead of coffee and tea. And the drinks are pretty yummy.

Plenty of parking in this area too. The only downside is that this area smells fishy (it is the meatpacking district after all) and sometimes that smell goes into the lounge. Some Glades plugins would go a long way.

I really like this place for a relaxing drink with friends and also taking clients out after dinner it is really "loungey"...and just really laid back which is a great bonus!

Well decorated with good drinks, anytime I got there, there is always parking available.

Take yourself there for casual conversation or not so casual and a little drinky!  :)

My idea of what a lounge SHOULD be!   Very laid back nice spot with a good crowd.  No teeny-boppers or trendy madness here.  it is like having drinks and hanging out with someone in their living room.  While their food options are somewhat limited...I thought the drinks were wonderful, inventive and flavorful.  Would definately come back again

Swanky! I'll probably save this place for the out of towners and clients that I need to take out. It's located relatively close to some nice places to eat in the west loop's Randolph Street which is a huge plus.

The interior is totally chic. Super modern. Very low couches and dim lighting. Good drinks, a little pricey though. But you get the atmosphere with the drink, you know what you're paying for.

If you're looking for a place to hold an event with an organization or just people from work I'd consider having it here.

The most notable thing about the place is the music: relaxing Thievery Corporation type stuff, which is great if you're into it like I am. Beyond that, the place is so-so: nice and open for people-watching, with some great chairs for lounging in. but the place's drab vibe and stay-all-night clientele get old fast. A great place to start or end a Friday night, but not interesting enough for the long haul.

Ooh, let's create some super swanky urban/metro decor, charge a little too much for drinks, and not have anything else particularly notable about the place except for our yuppie clientele.  And our lack of proximity to public transportation on lines that anybody uses.

We stopped in for a drink after dinner at Sushi Wabi last weekend.  Place seemed just right.  Not too busy but busy enough to provide some decent people watching.  There was a large group centered around one area of the bar but aside from that people were mingling all over.  There were still empty chairs and tables available outside and getting a drink did not take too long.  The decor was clean and overall I enjoyed this place.  The staff was nice and gave us some information about the surrounding area as well.
Definitely worth a visit.

I've been here twice in the last month now, and my verdict on Fulton Lounge? Solid spot.

The champagne flights are the route to go if you're looking for instant gratification-- if 3 full glasses of the bubbly don't ignite your buzz, I'm not sure what's next... Everclear?

Personally, I'm crazy for the Holly Berry martinis, sans the graham cracker crust rim. It starts with Grey Goose La Poire and ends with me smiling. A lot.

If you're looking for some swank and swish without facing throngs of sweaty clubbers, fighting your way onto a list or standing in line, then you'll probably be just content at Fulton Lounge. Even on a busy Sat. night we scored a table. Getting cocktails at the bar took but a minute and the prices are on par with similar establishments in the city. My only gripe? My party agreed that the playlist needs an update.

Oh and the scene? Pretty people-watching.

After a particularly harrowing experience (that I've since wiped from memory!), entering Fulton Lounge was almost like...coming home. Except, I don't have super smart looking books embedded in the walls.

A comfy chair, a private bathroom, sweet champagne cocktail with angostura bitters, smiling faces, decent music...room to move, scene to groove. A overall good vibe. Exposed brick and earth tones...thank you, I was a bit fed up with floor to ceiling black and chrome. For real.

I chose the bar route, and opened a tab...I was quick to be served each time I arrived, and thought the drink prices were on par for this area. I much loved the specialty list, which went on for pages and pages it seemed...of course my extra special bubbly vision led me straight to my heart's desire, and then consequently for 4 glasses of water. Nice.

Is it a scene? I guess. I mean, what is THAT anyway? The scene is what you want it to be. I wanted it to be where I wasn't prior, and it did the trick. It's not a dance club, it's a lounge. I like that. Or, I REALLY liked it that night...

I would most definitely be back. I was absolutely "feelin' it," whatever that entails...great for a few rounds with the girls, a DATE, or a quick drink before/after dining at any of the nearby restaurants.

Add it to the list, I'm a fan. Bravo!

They close relatively early on Fri nights, so if you get there late you will be continuously reminded by an obnoxious bouncer that it's time to leave even though they just brought you your last call drinks. Did not expect that from a place that caters to a wealthy clientèle in the West loop. We didn't come there for an attitude from some low life bouncers and waitresses who need to get out early on a Fri night to move on to "their" party. Felt like last customer at the Waiting movie. Owners obviously spent a ton of money on design and decor, and it is a nice lounge, too bad they got losers with attitude working there ruining it.

I have a mental image of what a "lounge" should be and if you replicated my internal vision into reality, it'd look a lot like Fulton Lounge.  The place is clean, spacious, relaxed and unassumingly downtempo.

Essentially, it's a large, comfortable living room.  Every space that could conceivably accommodate a seating arrangement has been arranged in such manner.  It's homey, warm yet contemporary and hip.  It's not pretentious though... or at least not from what I could remember.

The bartender was very nice.  She was prompt, professional and poured the drinks w/ precision.  The only complaint here is that they would not let us do car bombs w/ a shot glass.  Instead they gave us the Baileys and the Jameson in a tumbler and we had to dump the contents into the Guinness.

Look, I know it's a "similar" process to dropping in a shot glass but it's really not.  The end result  isn't nearly as satisfying.

This really isn't my scene.  I don't enjoy leaving an establishment and have a car full of douchebags yell "you look like a bunch of whores" at me and my friends.  Why so angry douchebags?  You're lucky that I didn't have my knife with me or your precious ride would have four flat tires.

The establishment?  Eh.  It was ok.  Couches.  Oonsk, oonsk, oonsk music.  Overpriced and weak drinks.  There was some crazy good people watching, but other than that there wasn't anything really special about this place.

I really like this place! The open space with plenty of couches and sectionals to lounge around while enjoying good drinks and good company! The decor is nice and bright, while still retaining a low-lit relaxing feel. The bathrooms downstairs were spotless and no line no waiting on a weekend is nice.

Our server was attentive, the coat check and door people were especially polite and friendly. I'm not often in this area, but I would definitely come back to Fulton Lounge to cap off a nice date, or with a group of friends small or large!

This place really is just A-Ok, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The space is open with sofas and couches in the center of the room.  Along the walls is extra seating, which operated more as of a holding area for when the couches in the middle became available.

I really liked the bathrooms located downstairs.  Individual rooms that were clearly marked with a W or an M.  I'm a fan of the no guessing which bathroom I need to use, especially after several tasty martinis.

Speaking of said tasty martinis, I enjoyed the Holly Berry(s).  I mean, I really enjoyed them.  The graham cracker crumbs sprinkled around the rim of the glass was the perfect amount of sugary flavor I needed.
The price was on par, if not better, then most places in the city.  Ten dollars was listed on the menu, but I was charged 11.  I wasn't buying so I didn't complain.

Overall, Fulton Lounge is the type of place I like to go to every now and then, and I just might return.

The Fulton Lounge is, quite frankly, one of my favorite places in the Fulton Market to grab a drink with friends.

Whether you sit outdoors on their patio or indoors in one of their comfortable seat groupings, the Fulton Lounge is that perfect mix of sophistication with a casual attitude.

The drink list is extensive, and I like that the martinis change with the season- with the richer ones being in the Winter to enjoy by the fireplace and the cool and refreshing ones to be had outside in the Summer sitting at one of the tables or along the "seating wall".

The bartenders are friendly and always have a drink suggestion for you.  And other than one time when I had a server who needed to go to an "attitude adjustment class" , the waitstaff is quick and friendly.  Also know that if you are hungry- ask your server to order one of the fabulous pizzas from Follia next door.  Delicious.

Speaking of Follia- it combined with the Fulton Lounge is a great suggestion for a night out.  Start your night with dinner at Follia and then walk through the adjoining door and sip your after dinner drink at the Fulton Lounge.

If you drive- valet parking is available but you usually can find a spot on the street.

Sophisticated yet casual, vibrant yet intimate, the Fulton Lounge is the perfect place to share a cocktail with friends no matter what the season.

Enjoyed the short time I spent here this past Friday evening after our event @ Bon V.

A very nice space with a chill ambience. Drinks were sort of expensive, but my girlfriend Stella was about $5 (a-okay in my book). This is a pretty upscale joint with nice, plush seating and everyone dressed pretty nice. I'm glad my buddy Colleen C turned me on to this spot and if I am in the area I will stop in for a drink

hmm....I will have to go back and get another taste of what this place has to offer. My first brief visit didn't leave me wanting more nor did it leave me  with a "WOW" feeling. I actually felt like I was in a really nice waiting area at the airport.
At one point I was bumped into by one of the staff clearing glasses and I said excuse me but he kept walking with an annoyed look on his face..HEY MAN...you bumped into me. Maybe he thought I was drunk? How could he have known that I was 4 days from payday and nursing one drink like a baby :)

Fulton Lounge...we shall meet again.

Very swanky. Wide open space with lots of loungy couches and chairs (my high-heeled feet thank you, Fulton Lounge!) and sleek decor.

The staff was very nice considering we dropped about 30 Yelpers on them in the span of ten minutes. Upon walking in they asked us if we wanted a table, a nice gentleman took my coat to the coat check and I had a drink in hand, all within minutes.

I expected this place to be very pretentious and snobby but it wasn't at all. I only got hit on by one total douche, a low number considering the location. (Thanks to the lovely Yelpers who came to my rescue on that one!)

I loved that this place is appropriate for an intimate, cuddle-close conversation and also for mingling among the spiffed up singles.

A nice little spot much different than the rest in the neighborhood.

I leave Lumen on a Friday night after the crowd gets too intense and wander my way down to Fulton Lounge. There are about ten people inside and one guy at the door. The conversation is as follows:

Me: How's it going?
Door guy: Where do you think you're going?
Me: In the bar?
Door guy: Not wearing that you're not.
Me: Hahaha... (awkward silence) Are you serious?
Door guy: Yeah. We have a dress code here.
Me: I just came from Lumen and I don't meet your dress code?
Door guy: Do you have a problem?
Me: My problem is that you have an empty bar and you're wearing worse clothes than I am, yet somehow I can't get in. (Enter vulgarities and snide comments that involve the word "douchebag" and other such terms that I wouldn't want to explain to my mother)

So, while I don't really know anything about this place, I give it one star because I can't give a zero. I don't desire to throw on a tux or something to get a drink in a bar that has as many employees as it does patrons, and I certainly shouldn't have to.

Great Outdoor!

I was told by my Friends that it was the perfect weather to be seating outside at the Fulton lounge.
They have great Pizza, but I understood from our waitress they bring it from a restaurant adjacent to the Lounge, its called Folia.
Good music & drinks.
Great atmosphere, it reminded me Soho in new york.

Classy, loungey, upscale.  Music low enough to carry on a conversation but up enough to getcha in the groove.  Fabulous atmosphere that feels like someone's giant living room.  Specialty drinks and pizzas for the late night dining crew.

I will definitely come back here.  Maybe on a weeknight and not weekend though...

This is where the real party happened after that Bon V affair.  I loved the set up of this place. Seats along the wall, seats in the middle (all couches), and a huge bar towards the front.  Also the bathrooms downstairs were little private rooms.  So nice.  Super swanky lounge.  I liked the relaxed atmosphere, also the waitress was pretty attentive especially for having to deal with about 30+ yelpers just showing up out of the blue. :)

Next time, I'll try the food.

It was a dark, stormy, and cold night.  Two girls, slightly (or not so slightly) buzzed from their dinner, in search of some place to keep the night going in a low key sort of way.

Enter Fulton Lounge.

We arrived early-ish and were able to snag one of the low tables in front of the bar with the comfy chairs that leaned back.  I think Paige W enjoyed those chairs a little too much.

The space is very West Loop-ish.  Exposed brick, tall windows, etc.  I liked it.  It was comfortable, yet trendy.

We ordered a bottle of prosecco.  It was tasty.  Our server was super sweet, and checked in every once in a while with a smile.

The people here were very... different.  From girls dressed up for a night of clubbing to a man with a very strange stripey outfit to a Christopher Meloni look-a-like, but everyone seemed chill.

Music?  Well, I happen to like house music and Fulton Lounge's was perfect for the atmosphere - it was more mood setting and less rave-like.  I enjoyed it.

I loved the bathrooms - individual rooms?  Sweet.  The stairs to reach said bathrooms that were just asking for me to fall down them (not that I was drunk, no, not at all...)?  Yikes.

Bottom line - it's the perfect spot to catch a post-dinner drink and relax with good company.  I wouldn't make this a regular destination, but it's a good spot to hit up every once in a while.

Can it be? A lounge in Chicago that is high quality without the usual pretension? After a disaster turned at Bon V we gathered here on a back-up whim and it saved the evening. The crowd was relaxed and the waitresses incredibly friendly. I was hopping from table to table and my server always tracked me down with a smile to bring me my next drink.

If you need a place to kick back and relax with some friends, but still want to feel like you got out for fun night, this is the place.

I'm not a lounge guy in any sense of the world unless I'm sitting on my ass watching sports. Well, there aren't sports here, but there are couches. Conversation and expensive drinks at a nightlife spot? Meh.

This place wasn't too bad because of two reasons: the service was quite spectacular and non snobby and there were random books in the walls. I've never been to a bar with books in the walls before.

I'd like to consider myself contemporary in many aspects......cars, computers, TV, housing, art, my thinking.....even outdoor clothing, but when it comes to lounges.....I usually conjure up only two images.  1970's Las Vegas or truly contemporary lounges in places like NYC, LA,  and Miami.  Though Chicago is a bit more edgy than the previously mentioned, Fulton Lounge is a contemporary place with a look and feel that makes you realize that it really is worth living in a big modern/contemporary city.

Deep in the meat packing district...or what is left of it....this lounge looks simple from the outside, but once inside the place is open and well laid out and just oozes of contemporary and cool.  Plenty of seating, dim lights, sexy people and a nice drink menu make having drinks with friends an excellent experience.

My visit wasn't late night and certainly not on a weekend, so the place was not packed, which is a hint if you are looking for something a bit intimate with your significant other.

Not sure what the **public sex** comment that was made in an earlier review, but the bathrooms are down stairs and at least with the Men's room, you think you are entering a private/single bathroom when in fact there are 3 urinals.  The funny thing is about the bathrooms is this place has more than any other bar I've been in the city new OR old.

If you like a good drink in a sexy place with a contemporary look and feel then bookmark Fulton Lounge and make it your next Yelp review.

You know when you listen to lounge music? The over-stuffed comfort of big couches, lined chairs and a beat that's only to meant to help you relax. That's what you'll find here. Not so much 50s lounge, but definitely post-modern plush. Drinks are a bit pricey ($7.75 for a Jack and coke, I know, I keep it classy), but it's nice if you're with a group and can get a table.

No cover, $3 coat check. Not bad.

I'm not usually a lounge kind of girl, but I could get used to a place like this. At least on weeknights when it's slow.

We wandered over here after the Elite event at Mars, not ready to go home, but prime for something low key. We couldn't have picked a better spot. I'm not sure if it was that it was later on a Thursday evening or that it had been raining steadily all night, but the place was fairly empty.

The best way to describe the place is sleek, cool and creamy. The effect is completed by soft lighting, a pretty, long sleek bar; comfy chairs surrounding low tables; velvet, modern mini couches with marble topped square tables; and a tasteful off-white shag rug gracing the floor (I wonder how they keep it from looking dingy especially in winter).

We settled in to some comfy couches in the corner ready for some drinks and conversation. Our server told us that the left side of the specialty drink menu and a couple of other items were only $7, down from their usual price of $10. Unfortunately, I was off the sauce for the night so I couldn't imbibe, but all of the drinks looked really nice.

Maybe it was because it was slow, but we were left to chat without ever feeling pressured to order more drinks or leave. The only awkward hiccup was our check. Our server brought the drink tab sans discount, when we mentioned it she acted like intentionally handed us a wrong one and seemingly discount our drinks later. Whatever the reason, she quickly and nicely replaced it with an accurate one.

Bottom line: If you want a comfortable, intimate place to grab a drink and have some nice conversation without screaming over a crowd, (insert sporting event), or loud music this is a good choice - at least on a week night.

TIP: It may have been the weather, or that it was 11 on a Thursday, but there were no cabs in sight. Make sure you bring a number to call one if you need a ride home.

You know what?  Yea, get your Chuck Taylor's off the table. I'm still  a fan of this place and the staff who keep the young hipsters reminded of what good manners are. Met Dave here again last night and caught up on life and whatever.  I tried the ginger peach something cocktail.  Nice but too sweet for me.
The busboy was great about refilling my water often, the bartender very sweet and the people at the bar made room for me to order a drink and then move along.  I like these things in a place.  I'm tragically close to becoming a regular.

Went there on a Saturday night and it was a very chill atmosphere.  Service was great - when we moved to a seating area, a staff member brought us tables immediately and made sure our drinks did not run empty.  A great place to go with some girlfriends and gab, or pre-game before a more wild night.

This place sucks. I am over 30 and this place reminds me of an Ambercrombie & Fitch store without that awful frat boy date rapist odor.

I was FULL from eating at Otom a few doors down. No more room for drinks and would of had beer anyways.

Still, the crowd is quite snarky. The little mod-squad waitress was even more snarky. My friend sat on a corner of a couch for about 30 seconds to get something from her purse and the bus boy came running over and was saying the areas reserved and was a little over reactive. Then, some super pretty people were seated.

Funny, nobody in this place smiles.

Paying way too much for drinks does not mean you have carte blanche to be an asshole.

The service is wonderful at this place.  The employees make you feel welcomed each time I've been here and I do appreciate it.  The atmosphere is great, and the layout is great as well.

I don't want one drink to ruin the review of this place, but I ordered the Cafe Noche martini (Fulton Lounge specialty) and couldn't tolerate more than 2 sips!  I went with a group of about 7 people, and nobody wanted to finish that martini.  Fulton only offers (by the glass) very sweet Riesling.  I'll definitely try something else on their drink list when I return.

Pretty good cocktails, without the pretension of the up-and-coming faux-speakeasies (though I wouldn't say the place is devoid of pretense). They mix a very good martini, and their old fashioned is also pretty good. It gets very busy after ten, however, so if you are not into a loud, packed bar scene, it is best to go for early evening/pre-dinner drinks. It is also possible to get food here--the pizza offerings from Folia (next door) are particularly good.

Love it here.  The service is attentive without being over-bearing.  Great cocktails and yummy pizza.  Martini Thursday is now my all-time favourite day of the week.
