Despite being in a dangerous situation, this Mariott was more then accommodating when it comes to having pets.

I had to evacuate my home last night due to the wild Yorba Linda fires and so the first thing I searched online was a hotel that allowed dogs.  I called this place up and luckily they were not fully booked because it's next to my school.

I came there to check in and at first, they were going to charge me $25 dollars per dog but since of the whole fire ordeal, they waived those fees.  Also, for $100 bucks a night, I got a room with two full size beds, a pretty spacious living quarter, clean room, bed, and the works.  They had me stay on the 4th floor near the corner of the hallway so that if my dogs did bark, my neighbors wouldn't get pissed off.

Downside, no free WIFI but since it was right next to school, I stole theirs instead lol.

The staff was very accommodating and I can't thank them enough for letting me stay here for the night.

Btw - they also have a pub in which my sister and I came down.  She drank of course, I had a coke.  ;-)

I came down to Fullerton with my dance studio this weekend for Hura Tahiti (tahitian competition) at the Hope International University. This was the closest hotel as it was JUST across the street. The hotel itself is okay. The service is 5 stars, but for being a "Marriot" rather than a "Courtyard" I expected more. The rooms were mediocre but the beds and linens were very comfy. I brought my own pillow because I'm anal about that kind of stuff, but the blanket was very comfy.

The front desk is VERY VERY helpful. We needed to freeze some flower leaves for some headpieces and they were very accommodating. My friend forgot his black slacks and they were able to lend him a pair that fit perfectly! The staff definitely goes out of their way to make you happy so that's a plus. We ordered food from somewhere else and sat in the lobby to eat and even the cleaning lady came by and offered us a trash bag for all of our garbage!

The pool is small and shallow, that may be a skip. Just tan instead.

If you plan on staying in this area, I would suggest going to the Sheraton for a nicer room, but if you want great service, come here.

I had to stay here overnight to go to a school meeting at WSU early the next morning. I have been to many nice hotels and maybe it was my king sized tempurpedic that spoiled me, but I did not really like the bed. The pillows were pretty small. Like the Legally Blonde chick, I pulled up front and said, "Where is the valet?" I had my hot pink zebra overnight which was full of outfits (sorry) and I was looking for a little help. Instead, I had to trek quite a ways and park my car at about 11 pm at night.

Got into the elevator, and I saw this dirty looking (like actual dirt) on his shirt AM PM guy. I was so scared when he said he was going to my floor. Rapist!

Overall, pretty trashy to LA standards. The hallways smelled funny. There were weird sports paintings on the wall, very tacky.

Service was on par and excellent. They had nice fruit at the check in. I give them 1 more star for great service, but I would not go back. For $164/night I expected much more

That poor bartender.

Seriously, I feel bad for her.  She was not prepared for the onslaught of 200+ evolutionary psychologists and anthropologists desirous of libations.  I fully appreciate that she was doing her damnedest to keep everyone tippled, and that recent bar closures in Orange County have added extra pressure, and that any crowd of that size can be intimidating.  However, if demand was that high on night#1 of what the Marriott knew would be a 4 night conference, one would think that management would've called in reinforcements for her by night #3.

From what I understand, the rooms offer much more posh accomodations than the dormitories a block away (as, well, one would hope), but I haven't seen them for myself.

Can't comment on the rooms as we used the banquet hall.  Their staff were very attentive during the entire wedding reception.  Everyone including the bartendar, servers and hotel management were pleasant to work with.  No complaints here!

Surprisingly nice for a no-frills hotel.
Clean, quiet rooms with lots of pillows.

Lemon water in the lobby is nice. Grounds are well-tended. I've stayed here 2x and it was nice both times. There aren't too many restaurants or cafe's within 1 mile walking distance, but this is LA, so drive.

Absent are the hideous crappy paintings most hotels have. Instead there are B&W photos from the golden years of CSUF.

On the S and E sides you get a little noise from the freeway and a nightclub across the street, but only if you keep you window open. We kept the window cracked cuz the AC is loud, and it dries out my throat worse than all that grain-alcohol I drank when I was 20.

There's a 24 hour fitness room and sauna. Outdoor pool from 11-9 or something.

THERE ARE DEFINITELY NO ALLIGATORS in the pool. I double-checked.

Though I didn't get to try the pool, they do have a nice little one in the middle of the hotel's interior courtyard.  This place is conveniently located right across from the college.  Of course that also means you might have a lot of students from out of town visiting.

i'm pretty sure i would have been equally comfortable, happy, warm, and entertained had i chosen a cheaper motel.  at least it was only for one night.

the hotel itself is basically what you expect a marriot to be: upscale, well-kept, courteous, clean, etc, with a well-stocked bathroom and soaps/shampoos that smell like herbs and spices.  however, i was sad to discover they did not give me toothpaste, mouthwash, or a free razor ($3 at the vending machine downstairs...WTF), nor did they have continental breakfast.  pay-per-view in the hotel costs way too fucking much (but i ordered "letters from iwo jima" anyway), as does room service (but i got some beers delivered anyway), and frankly i really do wish i saved my money by going to a cheaper place (but i stayed with this one anyway).

at least they have a bar downstairs, which i made somewhat liberal use of.  there's nothing much else that can be done after you watch one of your best college friends get married, AND watch your team lose, on the same night.

and i obviously didn't get lucky with the bridesmaids.  again, there's nothing much else that can be done when the wedding is completely dry - everyone is happy but no one is being stupid.  curse you, vince vaughn, curse you.

It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Good location right next to Fullerton State and easy access to the freeway. Not that far to St. Jude's where I was visiting an ill friend. Room service was fast and the food good. I can't complain for the price and location. It worked for me.

My mom stayed here and liked it a lot. Good fruity water in the lobby. The pool is a bit of a baby pool -- only three ft deep all over!! The rug is fascinating!!!!!!!

Come on, people! It's Fullerton. Not some swanky destination but the heart of inland North OC. This is the best thing happening as far as accomodations. Rooms are quite small, but bigger than my mom's guest room. Service is good.  Decor - nice (love the 60s vintage shots of CSUF). Beds - fab.  Most attactive feature: they let me bring my 60 lb. dog for visits. I love this place. It's literally my home away from home. They do lose one star for screwing up my guest accomodations for my reception. But I will stay no where else when visiting the family in Fullerton.

They obviously have just recenetly redone all the rooms in this hotel - they look nice, and have an extremely comfortable bed. Not much of a workout room though.
