Fujii-san is a good friend of my family, so I've had many a birthday cake from the bakery. :)
Fujii Bakery offers japanese-style European desserts. I like the cookies and cakes here way better than Copenhagen in Burlingame.
Make sure to try the cream puffs (choux creams) and eclairs. They're to die for!

The teenage girls who work the counter are "like soooo totally" stuck up, but the cake is good. Light, moist and not too sweet. Almost as good as the cakes in Japan.

The place sells the best cake in town. The taste is geared toward Asian people. i.e. not that sweet.
Beautiful sliced cakes, reminds me of the Marie Antionette Bakery, now called Andersens Bakery in Japantown in SF. http://www.yelp.com/bi... Slices are wrapped in clear plastic so you can see exactly what you are getting. One cold case are the sliced cakes, the other cold case are the whole cakes and the regular case are for cookies. Bought the strawberry shortcake slice $3.50, special of the day, white cake with passion fruit, $3.25 and mocha whip cream cake, $2.50. All very light and not too sweet. Have all the other usual japanese fave cakes, like compote, chocolate dream, tiramisu, and the cake rolls.
Variety of shortbread cookies, 6 for $2.40. The shortbread is crisp and buttery but not oily, the raspberry thumbprint was excellent, the raspberry jelly was tart while the cookie was sweet. The apricot jam barely had any flavor.
They didn't have a menu, would have like to have taken one with me, they had order forms for their cakes. Macaroons were good, chocolate and regular but prefer them more chewy.
In strip mall with other restaurants,Hanamaru http://www.yelp.com/bi... and Casa Lupe 2 http://www.yelp.com/bi... that I want to go back and try out, corner of El Camino and Bernardo.
The guy retired and closed the shop down.
Great pastries and cakes for all occasions. Must try the cream puffs!
