7 reviews for Fuji Sushi Japanese
Fuji Sushi in Winter Park has never let me down. I am not the biggest sushi connoisseur, but needless to say I find this place quite tasty. I usually go with the less fishy-tasting options, and they have a good amount of vegetarian/not so seafood-y rolls.
Service is pretty slow during lunch, as it gets pretty packed here. Last time I went was early evening during the week and there was only about 1 other couple in the place. If you are looking for some good sushi at a decent price, I would definitely suggest heading over to Fuji Sushi.
EW! I HATE THIS PLACE. And the weird thing is, it's always freaking busy. I must be missing out on something but I think their sushi is crap. Nothing inventive, sometimes not fresh, slow service especially if their busy. It's like no one wants to venture to Amura's downtown or some place else and so they just hole up here. And it's pricey for where they are located, too.
One time I ordered sushi to go and it tasted like soap. As if the chefs cut up our sushi and had washed their knives with soap but forgot to wash it off. Those guys didn't think I'd call back and they were all "Oh but did you eat it all already? And you'll have to bring it back...?" Idiots. I tried a piece in the car and though we were a good 7 minutes away I TURNED BACK.
I wanted a great sushi dinner, and Fuji Sushi surpassed my expectations. After eating a whole roll, I had to ask the chef to make a roll that had delicious mix. He suggested the Beauty and the Beast, he was right on, and I recommend it it you as well.
I've been to a lot of sushi places all over the country, and this one is easily the best one so far. It's small and it does get crowded, but I can handle that. The servers frequently have no understanding of the english language, but I can handle that too. They have so many rolls to choose from, and almost all of them are yum yum delicious amazing. They are big and they are rolled well. I recommend the Rollins Roll (my wife's favorite), the Hot Chik, the Volcano Roll with mixed seafood topping, there are really too many to mention. The sashimi is good, too. And the price is right. If you want wine, get a bottle to save some money, they will put it in a bag for you to take home if you don't finish it. I love this place. I no longer live in Orlando, and the only thing I miss is Fuji.
This Fuji Sushi has an interesting atmosphere and is really hard to get to and most of the time I completely pass it up. NEVER go here for a lunch date, especially on a work day. The service is slow, they never have enough people and they bark at you more often than not. I imaging its because they get so busy and maybe the service is slightly different in the evening but they have only kept my attention because I love their Dancing Eel roll and can't get out to their sister location nearly as often as I'd like. The worst is the bathroom which is located around back and the walkway back to it is pretty spooky even in the daytime.
As with all the Fuji Sushi locations in the Greater Orlando area, they are overly-hyped and don't have the food to back up these good reviews. I've eaten at both the Lee Road and the Conroy Road location [not by choice]. The food wasn't horrible but it definitely wasn't appetizing or worth it. I definitely won't be back.
I really like this place, the sushi is very good and the booths are very nice place to have a private meal (not so if you get stuck at a table).
Fuji is a great alternative to Amura.
