5 reviews for Fuji Hana Japanese Restaurant
Variety of food, very fresh sushi
and they deliver... convenient!
I came here after having a great experience at their Kendall location. When I saw that there was one closer to me, I could not wait to try this one. However, I was quite disappointed with both the food and service.
The decor was certainly a step up compared to the Kendall location but the pros pretty much end there. Their service was a little slow and our table's food came out piece-meal, leaving one of our starving friends waiting as we chowed down our less-than-stellar dinner. Their sushi rolls were mediocre and again not as well-made as their other location.
So this place probably deserves 5 stars but because of the location and the fact that I am such a sushi snob and can name a few places in sofla I like better, I am giving it a solid 4. The sushi is delicious. I didn't try any of the entrees and neither did my friend so I can't rate how the other food is. But the sushi was delicious, very fresh, and the rice was cooked perfect. I have a pet peeve about fresh fish served on top of hard rice. It ruins the sushi experience for me when I look around and everyone has eaten the fish and left casings of rice on their plates.
I started off with the miso soup which was average, good and hard to screw up. However, what I loved was the sushi. I had the Rainbow Roll (a staple for me) and the Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll. The Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll really stole the show. It was loaded with Tuna and it came with this delicious sauce, they called it cilantro basil sauce but it tasted like it had a mayo base. Either way, I feel like they could bottle it and sell it! The sauce was soo good. The Rainbow Roll was also fresh and delicious and the rolls were huge! I had to take some home and I almost never take home sushi. The prices wern't too bad either.
As for the atmosphere, the place can be hard to find unless you're looking for it. It's attached to the Venture down a little side street. It looks shabby from the outside but is actually peaceful inside and the outdoor patio seating has a nice Zen-like feel. My favorite part about this place is the poor English on the take-out menu. The top of the menu reads "We Delivered". haha. At least you know it's authentic.
I LOVED THIS PLACE!! Granted I was a college student and I did mostly take-out but they definitely kept me happy!! They had this great dish with chicken, broccoli, rice and garlic sauce and it was heaven (though I think it was more of a Thai dish)!!! They also made great kani handrolls that I would constantly order!!
I miss Fuji Hana...I wonder if it's changed any since I used to frequent it....I'll def. have to check it out next time I go to Miami.
I eat here at least once a week. They've changed locations recently, but only slightly. They're in the Venture now (right next to the old location). Great sushi!
