Service is usually good. They're not cheap on the cuts of fish they serve but for some reason I just find that their rolls and sushi are sometimes on the bland side when compared with Osaka or The Asian Grill. I like the seaweed salad and their Tuna Tataki as my appetizer. The dumplings are always pretty good. I like the soft shell crab roll and the Rock and Roll is very good as well. For your sushi needs, Osaka is probably my favorite in Collierville.

Best little sushi place in Collierville.
The only negative thing I have to say about about it s that they are often painfully slow. But if you know that going in, and aren't in a hurry, you will enjoy this place.
The sushi here is very, very good. The fish is fresh and and high quality, and they offer some very creative rolls that I just love. Especially the Rock and Roll. Now it's a cooked roll, so if you're a purist, you might scoff a bit. But it is fantastic, so I get it every time.
The Tempura is awesome as well. -

I made the mistake of stopping by the Fuji Cafe during the lunch rush, but I really had a hankering for sushi. The services was dreadfully slow because the restaurant was packed to the brim and they were frantically filling to-go orders as well as in-restaurant orders. It took a good 15 minutes for them to take my order, and I'd known what I wanted before I even came. It took another 20 minutes to receive my order of 3 rolls. And when I was done eating I had to wait 10 minutes to receive my check. Avoid the restaurant when it's busy.
The sushi itself was quite good, but nothing phenomenal. I had the kappa maki, a spicy tuna roll, and a Philly roll. (Or whatever they were calling their salmon/cream cheese combo that day. Maybe it was Alaska roll. Who knows.) The quality of the fish was good, the size of the rolls were as expected, and they were quite typical for sushi in a land-locked state.
It's a good place, but nothing great. -

Back in the day, before Collierville erupted into the everyday suburbia that it is now, Fuji was the only place to grab some sushi.
For those of us FedExers that were sent out to work at the World Tech Center, it was pretty much Fuji, Bogey's, or Huey's for restaurants (not to mention the old stand bys on the square).
So with that said, Fuji was okay back in the day. You got a craving for some yellow tail nigiri or a soft shell crab roll, then you went to Fuiji and it was fine. It hit the spot and was acceptable.
Off the regular menu, the gyoza dumplings are very good and the oshitashi was very tasty.
Every meal comes with a complimentary serving of Miso soup - which is okay, but not the best in Memphis.
Several friends have had the yakisoba and the udon noodles and said that they were fine.
In past years, the Fuji has seen some increased competition with both Osaka, Sekisui, Stix, and Bangkok Alley entering the market. Unfortunately, Fuji has not kept up in terms of menu choices and new sushi selections. Also - after eating at the Sekisui in collierville, you really see what a difference fresh and GOOD seafood makes to the dishes.
The waitresses at Fuji are always very nice and I've never had a problem with needing a refill or requesting special chopsticks for my son. -

Not the greatest sushi in the world. You get better sushi at a lower price at Osaka in Collierville.

When I have a craving for shrimp tempura rolls, I head to Fuji Cafe. The cafe is small and comfortable and the service is quick and polite. The food quality is high -- my husband loves the Yum Yum salad and I love the sushi. We always leave happy, and it makes for a fun, relaxed date night. Highly recommended.
