I absolutely love Fuddruckers burgers and buns.  I am a "plain burger" kind of person, so I base my burgers mostly on the taste of the beef rather than all the stuff you put on top of it.  This place lets you put on the "extras" yourself.  The hot cheese sauce on top of the burger is awesome instead of just having a slice of American cheese.  The burgers are all grilled to your own taste and the buns are toasted just right.
The french fries are always tasty and I love dipping them in the hot cheese sauce as well.
I was extremely disappointed when they closed their location in Oceanside, so I am forced to come to San Diego for my favorite burgers.
Can't forget about the milkshakes - LOVE them!

I used to love this place a few years ago - going several times with friends; but I went back after I haven't gone in a good while and it's just not as I remembered. Maybe it's under new management?

The burgers seems dry and just the not the same quality for what you pay for! I went here a couple of days ago with my friend after we just moved-in to our new apartment. We were exhausted, parched, VERY hungry, and craving burgers. You would think that because we were starving, these would be the best burger ever. Nope. As I've mentioned it was yet again dry, AND cold! I was so disappointed!

Also, the service is a bit slow when it came to busing the tables. There wasn't even a lot of people and the 2 bus-boys couldn't even get to 3 tables that surrounded us the whole time we ate.

I'll give it 2 stars for its Turkey burger though - they're pretty good (as long as they serve it to you hot and juicy).

If you asked me to rate this place a few years ago, I would give it 4 stars, but as I mentioned - maybe it's under new owners/franchisees now. Will I be coming back? Probably unlikely.

It'd Fuddruckers. It's a chain. They're more or less the same where ever you go.

So, all things considered, the burgers are great. But I know a hole in the wall joint with burgers just as good (or better), and it's not gonna cost you $10 bucks for the burger.

But their toasted buns are delicious

Am I reviewer number 100 for this Fuddruckers? I like the burgers here at Fuddruckers. I love the toasted bun and the meat you can have cooked to your liking. Like the produce bar where you can have your choice of toppings. Plus you can add the molten cheese (cheddar or jalapeno) melted gooeyness. Mmm gooey! I like adding the jalapeno cheese on my fries and then topping them off with jalapenos and the fry seasoning. Such salty gooey goodness. Also they have the shakes, cookies and other treats. Such evilness, but it's oh so good! Service is pretty quick. I paid under $10 because I didn't get a drink. Normally will run you about $12 if you get a drink.

If you've been to one Fuddruckers, you've been to them all.

The burgers are cooked well and you can put your own toppings on (lettuce, tomato, etc) at the salad bar they have on the side. I like the cheese sauce for the fries. Mmmm, fake cheese...one of my faves.

The service is fast. It's one of those pay first, sit down and they'll call your number type of places.

I dont like how you have to pay extra for cheese, but that's okay, I guess.

    A burger+ fries+drink will run you about ~$12. Not bad, I guess.

This is a build-your-own-burger type place. The chicken filets are really juicy, not sure if they put the juice in their manually, as the last time I had one it squirted me in the eye. Regular burgers are okay. It's pretty casual, nothing to go crazy over. Veggies are always fresh, buns are fresh. Runs about $10 per person if you don't get fries.
    The logo hurts my eyes.

I've always been a fan of Fuddruckers since all the customization is done yourself.

The veggie patty is pretty good and the fries are more like potato jo jo's.

We sat outside since the evening weather wise nice and enjoyed the patio. It was colder inside then it was outside!

The exotic meats can take awhile to cook so our group's order didn't come all out at once.

This is a scaled down location without the bakery and ice cream. It also was pretty clean in comparison to some.

Walked into this Fuddruckers and almost immediately walked out.  I didn't try the food, to be fair, but just looking around at how small and boring it looked made it worth it to me to drive all the way up to Mira Mesa and go to the Fuddruckers there.

This place as no flair.  It's just a bunch of tables in a box.  The menu is probably the same, but it looks different than the Mira Mesa location, which also puzzled me.

I'm sure the food is the same, but all things considered, it's worth the drive up to Mira Mesa so you can really enjoy your dinner at Fudds.

-I liked the produce bar where you could pile on as much veggies as you wanted such as lettuce, tomatoes, and jalapenos.
-I liked that they served beer and that you could substitute the soda for a beer in the combo meal.
-I thought the bread was good as it was toasted with butter.

I don't know, I compare this place to In&Out because I don't live in a city that has an In&Out so if I had an opportunity to eat a burger at In&Out or somewhere else, that somewhere else better be pretty good.  I would much rather spend $3 dollar on a burger that has more taste at In&Out than a $10 burger that was alright.  If I was in Cali again, would much rather just go to In&Out.

I love fuddruckers food... but this location is a little slow.
I waited in line today to make my order for almost 10 minutes because the cashier took forever with the customers in front of me.
then waiting to get my food, all I heard was the cook lady behind the line arguing with another cook. She kept talking down to him and repeating herself... and she had a different shirt (it was like a collar shirt vs t-shirts like the others) so considering she mighta been the manager, that is not professional at all.

    Fuddruckers isn't bad....it isn't great...meh.

I came here for lunch with a co-worker at his suggestion and was curious about this restaurant just a few short blocks from my office. I scanned the menu,m settled on the Bison burger, placed my order, and went and sat outside on the patio. First off the reflection from the orange shades made everything a glaring shade of sepia which was hard on y eyes. Ugh.

My order came up, and I was kind of surprised to find I have to go to the salad bar-esque condiments station and gather up my own lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard, and ketchup. Novel but not necessarily the most sanitary...

The burger itself was surprisingly good. I was happy to have a burger alternative, but the fries were lackluster, dry, and not well seasoned at all.

Parking can be a bit of a cluster-f*ck as well, so I will avoid this joint unless someone I am dining with has a craving for it.

14$! For a burger!?  This better be the best burger ever or at least something completely different.  I opted out for the Elk Burger with bleu cheese and grilled onions.

The burger itself was equivalent to pretty much almost every other burger that isn't jack in the box or mcdonalds.  This place does take extra time to make the burger just the way you want it and the salad bar (for toppings on your burger) does seem to be really fresh.  But as a burger joint, there's no reason for me to be spending this much money for just a normal tasting burger (at least include a beer or something).

Great juicy burgers and fresh food!! Didn't really care for the chili cheese fries. The chili didn't have much flavor. The floor was slippery, like a greasy floor and I almost slipped. Not sure if I like the idea of putting on your own toppings.

The logistics of this place are a germophobe's nightmare. I'm pretty laid back and I like my burgers, but damn this place grosses me out.

First, you get a burger requiring toppings that you must serve yourself.

You waddle over to the condiment bar where there's an 8-year-old evicting his finger from his nose to pump ketchup. Gazing down the aisle of toppings, you watch rows of unwashed hands dispense condiments and paw through vegetables.

Then you pad over to your table and proceed to consume a meal WITH YOUR HANDS that just made contact with the germs of all of Fuddrucker's children.

If you want to eat anything besides a plain hamburger with cheese, it is unavoidable that you must touch objects where hundreds of fingers have already been.

    Great food and quick service.

The best is manager 'Sis' who remembers your name, usual order and even your favorite table.

Combo comes with soda or beer - no added cost.

Produce bar is great for making a little side salad (I use the honey mustard for the dressing).

I eat here several times a month.

My burger was dry and tasteless. Condiment bar doesn't have anything very exciting. There were no clean tables inside when we got there and it was a cold night abd nobody bothered to turn on the heaters outside. Fries were decent and amount of food was good and place was clean. Nothing particularly special about this place. I wouldn't go back.

I am pretty traditional in my 1/3 lb burger order, but I went a little crazy with blue cheese on my burger (whoa whoa whoa). Yea yea, it's a chain, so I can't give it a 5 star, but I enjoyed my first trip. Honestly, you make the burger the way you want it, so if you don't like this place, you may just need to change up your preferences.

Don't like the Shredded lettuce? Have a lettuce leaf.
Honey mustard was too sweet? I'd say go for the regular mustard.
Need a kick in your cheese sauce? Go Jalapeno Cheese Sauce.
Plain fries not doing it for you? SWEET.POTATO.FRIES.

When I come here I don't automatically think "oh yes I'm going to get a burger" Because I don't really think their burgers are all that great. Well I mean yeah you can build it your own way and you can order which size patty you want but still, I wouldn't say it's a GREAT burger.

I come here for their chili cheese fries. They're soo freaking good. I could eat it everyday and not get tired of it. And it's alot to, well I think it is. Their nachos are pretty awesome too, and it's HUGE.

Kind of sad I never go here anymore.

Came here to celebrate a couple of friend's birthdays and they gave us a nice round table outside the resturant. It was nice because we could all see each other and talk unlike those long tables where you can't talk to the people at the ends cuz you can't see them.

Decided to split a 1/2 lb burger and get some onion rings and fries. The guy at the counter wondered if i wanted to get "frings" instead which was just a combo and I agreed.

Got my burger and I was a little dissapointed to see what I got. The burger did not look 1/2 lb and there wasnt as much frings as I thought there would be.

The only upside was that you could stack as much lettuce, tomato, onion and condiments as you want at their condiment bar. And all the vegetables seemed pretty fresh and I stacked up my burger with a lot of them.

I also got some jalapeno nacho cheese for my fries. It wasn't that great... It was all thick and tasted REALLY fake. (I know nacho cheese is fake, but this one just wasn't good).

They had this red colored pepper spice thing that I added to EVERYTHING. It was really good and I considered stealing it, but of course I didn't.

Overall, the burger was okay. It wasn't the best that I've had.

The coolest thing was just the condiment bar. I should have gotten the grilled mushrooms cuz I saw it on someone's burger and it looked really good. But that would have costed more.

I ordered the chicken strips that comes with fries.  The chicken strips were very well done...in other words...DRY!  and the fries are still lacking.  last time I mentioned that smothering them in the cheese sauce was better...not this time.  yuck!  So next time I crave chicken strips...I will go somewhere else (chick-fil-a).

Service was friendly and with a little flirting...which made my day!

When I was down in this area, my friend and I wanted something to eat. We wanted a hamburger and we drove past Fuddruckers. I had never eaten at Fuddruckers before so I wanted to try it because in my area Fuddruckers is out of business.

I ordered the Buffalo burger, which tasted like beef but was a little drier and a bit more gamy. If you're feeling adventurous you can try the elk burger or get the really big burger. You get their Fuddruckers fries with each burger that you purchase.

The combo meal costs around 12 bucks. It's quite a lot of money for a burger, fries and a drink. I think the value though is going towards the idea that you're able to eat different types of meat that aren't available anywhere else. You can also get beer if you want. They have a family meal too that is big enough to feed a family of four. The food was alright but I can't fathom spending 12 bucks each time I go here to get a complete meal.

The condiment bar for your burger is freaking awesome. You can get lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, relish, onions, mayo and different sauces. The sauces included BBQ sauce, ranch, honey mustard, regular mustard, A1 Steak sauce, A1 Steak Sauce w/Hot Sauce, Tabasco sauce and other sauces. You can make quite the combo.

At this location, you go to the counter, order up and you're giving a pager type device, which will glow when your order is ready. The service is minimal as basically the workers are there to take your order, prepare the food, and give you your order. So don't go here expecting full waiter service.  There is outdoor seating as well.

Parking is in their private lot (there are always plenty of spaces). You cannot park on the street.

Try this place at least once and if you like it, great! If not you can say you've tried this place.

It was only after seeing the awesome movie "Idiocracy" that I decided to try Fuddruckers.  This is now the only burger joint outside of Station Burger that I frequent.  I can't eat beef anymore, so their alternatives are important to me.  Fuddruckers has buffalo, ostrich and numerous other exotic meats available (though the ostrich has been out of stock for a while) which are just as tasty as beef burgers but with significantly less fat and more protein.  The bread is always good, the cheese is also good, and they don't mess up orders like most restaurants of this level.  The fries and Sweet Potato fries are also great.

I look forward to eating here every time, and I am always very satisfied when I'm done.  Just because it's a chain doesn't mean it doesn't deserve 5 stars!

I like the concept of making your own burger and just ordering the meat at the counter then putting on your own sides! It's better than sitting in an expensive restaurant for a $10 burger.

I got medium rare and it was good! i would go back, it's not as good as The Counter in Norcal/LA but hey definitely better than Island's burger.

OK it would appear there are a lot of people who don't know how to order at Fuddruckers. here's some assistance for you. first, you don't get ostrich or any other weird birds. you get a beef burger. 1/2 lb is the best value.

so, you're on a diet - you can always eat your carrots later. ok, next, they ask you what you want on your burger. you want nothing. what fool pays for cheese when you can have all the cheese sauce you want for free in the condiment bar? chili? just say NO.

moving on, french fries should be skipped generally. mostly they are undercooked. also, you will feel better about eating that big juicy 1/2 lb hamburger if you enjoy a delightful side salad made out of the offerings from the free condiment bar. i recommend the honey mustard "dressing" it's next to the ketchup. if you're feeling really clever you might make a poor man's ranch out of the free mayonnaise, coffee creamer and salt and pepper. never tried that myself, though it's a bit of a fantasy.

next, what to drink? oh, wouldn't a beer hit the spot. yes, it would, but it's a rip off. here's where you order a nice, big free glass of water. fuddruckers treats water drinkers with the dignity of a large cup. they don't try to punish you with some dainty shot glass. there are free lemons next to the iced tea stand. score. if you're really bored, you could even cook up a glass of fresh lemonade using sugar packets.

so you have a premium 1/2 lb burger, medium well, a side salad of "fixings," and a glass of lemon water for about $6. that's a pretty good deal.

I had a birthday certificate for a free burger, so off to Fuddruckers I went.  This was my first time eating there, and it will also be the last. If my burger wasn't free, I would never have gone there.  My burger would h ave cost  $5.19 if I had paid for it, and I think the $6 Dollar Burger at Carl's Jr. is a better buy.

    I wasn't impressed.

I greatly enjoy Fuddruckers. They've got some really yummy chili cheese fries (which are not the easiest to find), love the hot dogs, and you definitely get a big ol' burger. Likewise, the milkshakes are pretty good.

The problem is that the service at this location predictably sucks. We've had food forgotten about, we've watched half-made milkshakes melt while the girl making them takes a personal phone call and the manager looks on, and the cashiers always take a super long time.

I really love Fuddruckers for quick super bad-for-you food within walking distance of home, but hate that I know every time I come here, the service is going to be super lousy, including the management!

Most people know what fuddruckers is about so I won't bother describing it.

I'll just tell you about my experience here and let you judge for yourself.

I decided to try some of the exotic meats they have here. I went with the elk burger.

It was delicious! lean and juicy with lots of flavor. I'd give that a 5 out of 5 stars. They have a couple other meats I'd like to try like boar and bison.

The service was excellent here. One of the staff members offered to get me a refill on my drink which I've never seen before.

All in all it's a fun place to eat with really good burgers, worth going to try some of the meats or if you just want a good burger and are in the area.

This is a classic burger place. It is quite delicious and they have some very interesting options. Right now it is elk season, in October they will have ostrich burgers, and in November they will have wild boar! Super odd, but really exciting to try if that is your thing.

I had the turkey burger. It was a little bit peppery-er than I would have hoped. I like how you put all the toppings on yourself because then you get the ideal pieces of veggies for your burger. :-)

I tried their onion rings for the first time today and they were fantastic. A little doughier than onion rings generally are, but I found that this made them extra delicious!

I eat here often, and I'd give it a very good rating. The only reason I gave it four stars rather than 5 is that once in a while they burn the burger. If they don't (and they usually don't), the burgers are fantastic. Who makes a better fun? Nobody that I know of in town. If you love a fresh-made bun with a great slightly yeasty flavor, you'll love the buns here.

The condiment bar is outstanding, the wait to place an order is usually minimal, and I've never had a problem finding a seat. Sometimes I've had to sit on the patio, but the patio is large and nice.

I'm usually opposed for paying $10 for a burger. Unless it's the right place at the right time. This wasn't one of those times.

So I went with the tricked out nachos for $5.99. The flavor was pretty good (nacho cheese, tomatoes, sour creme, guac, chicken) but nothing amazing. The portion was huge and I'd probably get it again.

I remember going to Fuddruckers when I was a kid. I'd get a hot dog the size of my arm and there would be the best arcade games to waste my quarters on. If I could only play Streetfighter and buy a three-foot long hot dog Fuddruckers would get another star.

this is a decent burger place. ate the southwest burger. had them cook it as rare as they could make it. fries are good, a cross between steak fries and potato wedges with some seasoning. fresh condiments you add urself to ur burger. overall, a relaxed place and clean. also, they have different meats for burgers. next time i might try the buffalo burger, heard it was really good. i'll add it to my next review on the next visit.

Ostrich: It's probably what dinosaurs tasted like.

I was thrilled to find out that this Fudd location now serves ostrich burgers! As someone who doesn't eat four-leggeds, ostriches and other ratites (http://en.wikipedia.or...) offer a "loophole" that allows me to eat red meat. It is a very lean (3% fat) meat which does have a bit of gaminess compared to beef. But remember, these are descendants of T. Rex, and I bet that guy tasted pretty gamy too.

As for the restaurant, it's always clean and the staff is pleasant. Freefills on soda / iced tea, all-you-can-pile-on condiment & fixins bar which is always clean and well-stocked, large outdoor covered patio, air-conditioned interior.

Only nits are it's kinda pricey for what is essentially a burger and fries meal (~$13 per person with fries and drink) and parking can be tough at times. Neither are reasons for you to stay away.

Great place to satisfy your burger craving now and again. Next time you go, be adventurous and try the ostrich!

"The guard on death row asks "what's your request for your final meal?" without hesitation I said "20 oz. Rib eye steak, medium, lotta' salt, lotta' pepper. 1 baked potato and put plenty of butter on it".....the guard quickly responds "what! There's no steaks on death row. Pick something else"......Without missing a syllable I say "Then get me a 1/2 lb southwestern burger from Fuddruckers, potato wedges and a Fat Tire, toots suite cause I'm running out of time" Fade out.....

This is certainly not how my last meal request would probably go. You know how people always say "live today as if it was your last!" Oh, you mean by crying and praying a lot? "I don't want to die!" would probably be what I'd be saying, but I digress.

I've had a lot of burgers in my day. Cheese burgers, double burgers, buffalo burgers, I've even had a couple of ostrage burgers. Fuddruckers in MV is the most consistently messy and delicious burger I've ever sunk my teeth into.

This is what I like to call "a momment" You've just been called to the bar to pick up your newly made southwestern burger. You check for all important parts being present: meat, bacon, guac, tangy southwestern sauce. Potato wedges are in effect. Your Fat Tire beer is waiting at your table. You saunter over to the considerable condiment bar and you stack your burger with all possible accouterments: lettuce, fresh tomato slices as big as a hoola hoop, pickles, onions. I feel like crying. Not sure if its the onions or I'm just so happy.

The taste explosion is too much as I take the first bite. It's too much. I have to sit down cause' my knees are getting weak. If I ever did end up on death row, I wouldn't change my first choice for a last meal. I'd be ok if they didn't have steak.

Besides, jail just ain't the place for me. They say I have a pretty mouth.

    Burger. Yum.

Take out, eat it, you name it, it's good. Had Fuddruckers takeout last night and I was once again reminded that this place has some of the best burgers in town.

Overpriced.  $30 for two burgers and a drink =(

The thought of piling on all the veggies I wanted made me giddy!  Too bad I probably didn't pile on $30's worth!  I guess it helps that the friendly cashier gave us another drink for free.  It didn't really matter though because I always share with the boyfriend since I don't drink much soda.

Being first timers, we both wanted to try exotic, out of the ordinary burgers.  He ordered the Ostrich Burger and I ordered the Buffalo (pictures provided), which is probably why our bill was so high.  However, that I didn't mind, most likely because he paid =P  What I did mind was the fact that the burgers weren't what we wanted; not out of the ordinary.

I personally prefer In and Out burgers.  However, what sets Fuddruckers apart is their condiment bar.  Lots to choose from, my boyfriend had an assembly line full of different sauces!

Also, the accessibility to the outdoors was nice.  It was a sunny afternoon and we dined outside, provided with shade.  Great double date!
