1 review for Ft Lauderdale Beach
Such a pretty beach totally wasted on the hordes of greased-up drunk, overweight slobs that pile onto the sands here on a Saturday afternoon. So many of the girls proudly strutting around in skimpy two-pieces, fat bellies hanging over their bikini bottoms mixing with fried food fed frat-boys puffing out their flabby white chests as I walked to the water. Must be all the alcohol that makes them look so fine to each other. Made me ill.
What made this pathetic scene a joy to me? So happy you asked. As I waded ankle deep in the shoreline, my eye caught the glint of something shiny. This instantly triggered my treasure-hunting synapses as all my life I've dreamed of finding Spanish gold. I stopped in my tracks and still not believing what I was seeing, reached down and between my painted toes was a gold coin!
I carefully snatched it up, heart skipping beats, looked closer and discovered it was indeed an old Spanish coin...a shiny gold-copper 1994 Columbian 100 Peso coin about the size of a quarter*. Was I dismayed it was no doubloon? Not a bit. I pocketed my treasure and bee-lined past the lard-ladies and pudge-boys to order a vodka martini and some conch fritters. I mean what the hell, here it was, the first day of my vacation and I was already 100 pesos richer.
